As return visitors to Bydand, we were even more pleased to stay there a second time and have plans to return again with future guests. We have been fortunate to be able to choose our room on arrival, the rooms are all spacious and airy, a/c, and very clean. Breakfast is excellent, best fruit salad I've had away from home, and fresh bakery as well. The pool is refreshing. Overal, Margaret provides a high level of accommodation and service. Highly recommended.

We had to attend a family wedding in Addo and our weekend began on Friday20 September 2013 and we left on Sunday the 22 September 2013.
Margaret was amazing, as we had booked all the rooms and some family were staying elsewhere in the area and had no cooking facilities, Margaret let our huge family invade her kitchen and dinningroom area.
We had the most amazing family reunion and nothing was too much trouble for Maragret.
The rooms fantastic. Spotlessly clean and spacious. The breakfast was delious, from fresh fruit to home made muffins.
The tiny little people with us were happily feeding the old horse and walking around the beautiful ornage orchard with it's own dam.
What a wonderful place to spend such a happy weekend at.
If we are ever in the area again or know anyone going to the area we will have no hesitation in recommending Byland Farm to them.

Room Tip: All excellent

Margaret is a perfect hostess with the perfect house. Nothing is too much for her. The house is spotless clean, comfortable and welcoming. A perfect place for trips to Addo Elephant Park. We will be back, for sure!

After a very long & hot day in the Addo Elephant Park we received a very warm welcome from Margaret and her husband. The location of Bydand's is well and truly situated amongst the the citrus groves. We were grateful that there was a swimming pool to cool off after a very hot day.
The accomodation there was first class. Bedroom(s) very comfortable. Breakfast was to die for, . everything from pancakes, toast to English breakfast. Margaret could not do enough for us all. Nothing was to much trouble. We all enjoyed our evening meal at Lenmore which was a recommendation by Margaret. We would highly recommend her B&B to all our friends back in the UK. We would not hesitate to return and stay here again one day.

My family stayed for three nights just before Christmas 2012. Everything was comfortable and homely. We were made to feel very welcome and were offered good advice about what to do and where to eat during our stay. Very handy for Addo Elephant Park. Good recommendation to visit Schotia Safaris, Lenmore Restaurant and the Daniel Cheetah Project - all within reasonable travelling time. Very good value for money, lovely, clean and peaceful. Great for bird lovers!

Stayed here for two nights in October 2012 and loved it. The room was large and airy, and the bathrooms bright and clean. No TV, if that's your thing but we found the wildlife a few miles away to be far more entertaining. Margaret is a wonderful host and takes exceptionally good care of her guests (she even stays up until they are all home and accounted for!). Lovely breakfast and a huge fruit farm to wander round if you want. Margaret is particularly good at recommending things to do apart from the obvious trip into Addo. We benefitted from her excellent suggestions and visited Schotia (a private reserve) and Daniell cheetah sanctuary. Bydand farm is tucked away 4 mins drive from the main road to Addo and relatively isolated; but that adds to the environment. There are restaurants 5-10 mins drive away. Particularly good if travelling with kids, as a lot of (safe) space. That said, I'd recommend it to anyone.

My hubby and I and our 2 kids (5 and 1) were up from Midrand to visit our best mates in PE in December. While they were still working we decided to have a little family getaway just the 4 of us.

Often it can be quite difficult to judge a place just by looking at the pictures on the website, I think what helped us make our decision was chatting to Margaret via email and she just seemed so hospitable. Well we made the right choice!!!

We felt so at home the minute we arrived and we were pleasantly suprised with a lovely spacious room and what was fabulous was that the kiddies were on one side of the room and we were on the other side with the bathroom seperating us. We had our privacy.

We spent a whole day at the pool and just lazed around, the water was so warm.

Bydand is a bed and breakfast but Margaret organised a braai and wood for us and made sure we had plates and knives and forks. So in true SA style we were able to have our braais. The rest of the time we ate at Lenmore which is a restaurant closeby, it was a lovely place with a jungle gym and the food was delicious.

We truely enjoyed our stay and would reccomned this place to all!!! Very good value for money and a lovely getaway from it all.

P.S Margaret even went and bought a baby feeding chair especially for our little one, another thing that was awesome is that all the mess he made did not phase Margaret at all, that was very refreshing and we did not feel like we had to keep the diningroom spotless and get all stressed about our little one making a mess.

THANK YOU BYDAND, OUR STAY WAS PERFECT!!!
