We had a lovely stay here in March 2014 after coming from Addo Elephant park. We had a little difficulty getting in, but ont let that put you off! We stay in a safari tent, which has all mod-cons including toilet and concerte floor. We were fortunate to be the only guests, and had a beautiful meal with the hosts. We felt at home and had a lovely relaxed time chatting beside the fire. We got an education on the locality, which was fascinating. Could have spent days here
Dinner is a must - beaufiul bbq meat, homemade salads and bread.
Highly recommend staying here to family and friends of all ages, purely for the experience of staying with such hospitable family. Thank you!

I stayed just one night at Kudu Ridge after visiting Addo Elephant Park, about 20 minutes away. Unfortunately I didn't have time to view the game at Kudu Ridge, but hope to do that one day in the future. The accommodation is in huge permanent tents. Mine would sleep four and incorporated a shower and ktichenette area. The hosts Brian and Jenny were very welcoming and friendly. I ate a lot of Brian's home cured impala biltong. The dinner provided was sumptuous and breakfast the following morning better than adequate.I'd happily stay again.

Thank you for the kind review, it was a pleasure to host you and I hope you pay a visit again sometime in the future and stay for longer so you can experience the other activities that we can offer you such as an Elephant Back Safari and a Sundays River Safari as well as our own reserve.
All the best,

i recently spent two nights at this lodge, in one of the safari tents.- which was very comfortable.Andrew was the perfect host, helping wherever he could . We had dinner there the one night, which was a typical South African braaivleis & was delicious . Felt like home from home .

I got to stay in the very large and comfortable permanent tent accommodation which was a taste of what the safaris in the movies were like. These tents are far better than the small rather stuffy brick chalets. All accommodation is set among the undergrowth of the Addo Park and there is only a fence separating the site from the animals. You could sleep in the very comfy beds and see the stars and hear all the bush sounds. It was an experience not to be missed in Africa. It is also a private game lodge so yes, animals get killed and from what I saw on the bench in the kitchen, eaten (it was kudu meat). Being vegetarian, it was somewhat offputting. The eating area and bar is set around a fire pit to make it like a camp when it was still somewhat under cover. A great concept. Then the "drawing room" full of stuffed heads of animals (I am not squeamish and do understand that times and consciousnesses change), photos of shoots and crystals decanters of spirits - no doubt to fortify the hunters and Dr Livingstone I presume.

Room Tip: ask for the tents and not the chalets. They are quite luxurious in comparison.

The food is excellent and the host`s service good. Nice braai area and terrace for sundowner and star gazing. However the "chalets" are very old fashioned and basic and therefore quiet expensive... you get better value for that money in the area.

Nice lodge, good location, as it's an easy drive from Port Elizabeth and not far from Addo Elephant Park. Food was good and not expensive. We stayed in tents, but having a private bathroom and shower was rather nice.

There was a bit of confusion about where the children would stay (we expected them to have their own tent, but once we arrived, realized that was not really possible), but it would be nice to have that information updated on the booking.com site for future visitors.

We spent 2 nights here and Brian and Jenny were lovely. They booked us on a safari with Schotia which we loved. We stayed on one of the tents in the grounds. We ate one evening meal with them which was simple and tasty and 2 breakfasts which were the same. They light the fire pit at night and have a bar, it was very social and we would go back again.
