“Excellent Food!!”
Reviewed 20 August 2014 via mobile

Passed the half way mark on a 22 mile mountain bike route and this place was the perfect solution for a later lunch. Highly recommend the sandwiches and especially the Cumbrian ham!! Lattes great too :-)). Service was excellent and super fast! Xxxx

We have been to this pub for four years now and have always been happy however on this visit we booked a table and were extremely disappointed........ Two of us had the fish which was tasteless, one had steak, tough as old boots and the last had the pie, not really sure what was in it!!
It's all self service including cutlery, which is fine but the prices are high.
The table was filthy/sticky when asked if the table could be cleaned the young waitress wiped in a figure of eight, we did move tables but still not happy.
After the meal it took at least twenty minutes for someone to clear the plates and then only two plates were taken away the others stayed till we went.
We will definitely NOT return to this place, ever!
Presumably under new management, they & the staff need some training!!

Stayed here at the end of June with my wife. The room was clean , but on one occasion no beverages were left in the room also no cups or spoons. The evening meal on one occasion was not pleasant at all , the bar at the end of the eating area packed full of football supporters making excessive noise which spoilt the meal, went elsewhere next night. The establishment is run by youngster's who need a course in customer care or better training, management must take the blame. This was a total reversal of the service from a few years ago which was excellent, either under new management or standard have dropped.

Room Tip: choose room with balcony , downside is they are over the bar

This is a pub, so expect a bit of noise until closing time, especially Fri/Sat night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good and it's a popular spot. Good location for walking and exploring the lakes. Room was tidy and clean.

Room Tip: Balcony room for a hot night.

Stayed one night on a weekend and its very good value for the location its in: bedrooms are ok without having any 'wow' factor: balcony on the front-facing bedrooms are lovely to sit out on and people watch: bed was uncomfortable, mattress hard and very low but we were very tired after a full day out in the Lakes so managed to sleep through till morning:
breakfast was very nice and staff helpful and pleasant:
didn't have an evening meal as we were meeting friends elsewhere but they looked very nice:
I would definitely stay here again mainly because of the bedroom balcony:
thanks everyone @ Pooley Bridge Inn

Room Tip: We had room 1 which is a family room double bed and bunks: balcony is very nice: just consider it ov...

in a beautiful setting. I love Ullswater and was so chuffed to be able to get a room on a sunday evening. The food is great and the staff chatty and friendly. Has been recently taken over and the bedrooms have been revamped and the bar area is next on the agenda but it has a quaint charm. All rooms have a balcony which is great for sitting out on and watching sunset/sunrise.

Room Tip: The back rooms are very quiet but the front rooms have better view
