Lovely spot, right in centre of small village. Groceries, PO, bank, pub, hairdresser and beautician at front door. Fully self-contained except for washing machine. Very comfortable bed with winter and summer doona which made for good nights sleep. Good heating which works efficiently. 20 miles to Whitby. Good internet. Lots of things to see and do.

“A really enjoyable break at the Nest, Castleton”

We have recently stayed at the Nest, Castleton for a short break in a cosy warm cottage in a prime village location. We will certainly recommend the property and will definitely be returning. The village has a co-op, Bank, Post Office and two pubs. It also has a very nice tea rooms.

“Perfect for a weekend getaway!”

I booked this cottage relatively last minute as a quick getaway with my boyfriend, we wanted somewhere near to the coast, in the countryside, with plenty of walks and close to a pub. The Nest met all these requirements and then some!

A beautiful little cottage which was perfect for us with a well stocked kitchen so we (he!) could cook each night.

The only downside... having to go home on Monday!

Beautifully presented Yorkshire stone cottage, has everything you could possibly need. Cosy and comfortable, like a home away from home. Already thinking about going back as soon as we can and staying in the Nest. Fell madly in love with north Yorkshire but especially Castleton, warm and friendly with everything on the doorstep!

“A comfy nest”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at The Nest and had a lovely week exploring the North Yorkshire Moors...and a day in Whitby of course! Staying in Castleton, we were handily located for exploration and what an iconic Yorkshire moors village it is. The Nest had everything we needed close at hand....a pub and the Co-op right on our doorstep! Although there is no private parking, getting to park close to The Nest was never a problem and early morning was very quiet. The property itself is very cosy, one up one down, without being fussy, so it suited us perfectly. Everything worked as it should and Annette the owner has clearly put a lot of thought into what she has provided for her guests. An excellent shower certainly added to our comfort. Thank you Annette for helping to make our honeymoon a special week. Book with confidence!

We had a most enjoyable stay at "The Nest". Has everything you need. The shower was amazing after having a long day exploring. Bed could have maybe been slighter bigger but the fresh air and long walks knocked you out!!!!
Owner also contacted us to make sure we were ok and had settled in.
Lovely part of the country.
