very friendly hosts, very clean accommodations, quaint. Good value for the price. My boyfriend and I stayed in the room with the ensuite. Ceilings are low as it's an old house, so if you're taller than 6 ft might not be good for you.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in Aug and we wished we could have lived here forever.Leo and Madonna are so friendly, treated us like family, welcomed us with a well stocked basket of homemade lassie bread and jam,and various other goodies. They are so proud of their family and their island and so willing to share their way of life with strangers. The cottage is a lovely, spacious yet cosy place with beautiful artwork on the walls done by their daughter and the kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need to prepare your own meals. They even let us take the canoe out in the bay on our last day.Fogo is full of things to see and do.Take our advice and stay longer, we wish we could have, but then that just gives us a reason to go back.

Room Tip: Stay in the new cottage across the road from their house, this is their brother's place that they just started to rent out this year ,2 bedrooms and a full bath and well stocked kitchen and a deck, washer and dryer as well.

Our second visit to Landwash Lodging, this time we returned with another couple. The little house is even better than our last visit (2011) and more charming, if that's possible. Leo and Madonna are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. Madonna's home made bread and jam is divine, and the cupboards are generously stocked, including pancake mix, condiments, and more.
The rooms are small and the ceilings very low, especially upstairs (I could touch the ceiling while sitting in the bed!) but it's an authentic Fogo house. I loved the green bedroom, which has just enough space for a double bed - it is surrounded on 3 sides by walls. Very cozy!
Can't wait to visit again - only next time we will stay longer!

By far the best stay on our 10 day, 3000km Newfoundland Trip! Fogo Island is an amazing place that you will not want to leave, and Leo and Madonna treated us like family. We stayed in the room with ensuite and never slept so well anywhere else as we did in that 150 yr old bed frame. We ended up extending our stay another night and would've stayed a full week if we could've. The kitchen and pantry were well stocked and Madonna's home baked bread was heavenly. And unlike some B&B's where you feel like you're right next to other people, here you feel like you have your own space. If you want to have a full Fogo Island experience, look no further. When we left, we felt like we were leaving good friends that we had known for years. You will not be disappointed. When we return to Fogo, this is where you'll find us :)

Room Tip: Be sure to ask Leo about bread and 'lasses'

Excellent service, a clean and quaint cabin, with a stocked kitchen (most things) Lots of fresh bread and friendly service. Cabin had 2 bedrooms and a living room, with an eat-in kitchen. Very close to the water, enjoyed the cool breezes in the evening. Lots of privacy, but the owners were always there if you needed something. WIFI was included along with television, but who wanted to stay in! It was a wonderful experience, we are going back this July too! Thank you Leo and Madonna!

Room Tip: Just ask Leo and Madona they will take good care of you!
