“lovely place to stay in Cori”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2013

This is a beautiful bed and breakfast in a great location with outstanding views and gardens. Our accommodation was fine with a kitchenette, dining lounge, bathroom and a bedroom. The only criticism we had was with the breakfast. Very ordinary, just a few packets of stale croissants and toast. Compared to other b&b's we stayed at, it could be improved upon with maybe some yoghurt and fresh fruit. Apart from this, we enjoyed our stay. The swimming pool was excellent to laze beside. We had a wonderful time here with our friends from the UK. Unfortunately for us, we both have 2 teenage children and what is passed off as 'ok' for 4 is not, really. We each had a 1 bedroom with a pull out couch. The pullout couch was basically in the one main area/kitchen, so when it was open you had no room to sit anywhere. The shower was so tiny it was no more than 2ftx2ft....which is hilarious if you have a husband who is 6'5"!! You can't bend down if you drop the soap without opening the doors...lol. There is no window in the bathroom so the room was always damp and wet. We didn't bring bath towels so we had to use the towels provided and hand wash them. There is no washing facilities so you hand them to dry. Luckily it was very hot and they dried fast. With 4 people though, between showers and swimming, we were always short of towels. Our room had no door so there was NO privacy.
On a good note, Franco (the owner) and his daughter Barbara, were so friendly and tried their best to help. This is a lived in Castle which has been opened to a select few (the renters) . There is no signage on the way to the Castello, so make sure you have a good GPS or use your smartphone app. To eat, we shopped at the local grocery store in Cori which had everything we needed (including wine/beer). Our teenagers loved that they could just walk into town, grab a coffee/snack and wander. We loved that we could just chill by the pool with (at the most 4 other couples/families and get to know each other better. The view is fabulous, and the grounds are very interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but it would have been made much better if there were more linens, a little more space and if we could get our Wi-Fi in our rooms instead of just out on the patio.

Room Tip: If you are going, and want 'space' make sure you ask for the room with the loft. It's mu...

After our awfull 1st week from booking into the Nightmare .Agriturismo La Colmbaia at Massa Marittima.Where I have now found out from other peopls reviews. The same had happend to them. This was a sigh of relief!! Lovely setting. Very pleasent lady called Barbra greeted us.We had a lovely spacious appartment, with a mazanine for our daughter. All very open plan. The only let down was the shower room,it was in great need of up-dating.The shower was only a tricle of water, not any good for washing your hair, also lack of dressing table and mirror,as all had to be done in the shower room.Overall it was comfortable.Swimming pool area was really lovely.Very old town Cori. You have to park outside and walk everywhere. We drove to most resturants. If you need food it is best to buy it from The supermarket on the way ,as it is a very long walk into the town, and all up-hill to carry the shopping back.We actually wanted to visit The Gardens of Ninfa. But you have to book to go in on a Tour and only open certain days in a month for private visits.Fortunatly we drove to see how we could visit and were able to tag onto one of the Italian tours. It is only 15mins in the car from Castello Santa Margherita.Well it is so Beautifull and well worth the visit.Lots of places all around to visit.Take good walking shoes. We cooked in one night when it rained,we had all we needed in the small open plan kitchen. There was also left a basket of cake and breakfast bits, with jams etc.I thought that was a nice touch.

Room Tip: No fan if it is very hot!.All apartments seemed good that we looked in .There is ample parking, and y...

We stayed one week at the beginning of August, 2012 in this property. We had rented the apartment " rifugio di Ercole ", spacious, decorated tastefully and very comfortable. The owner Barbara is charming and available. The site is magnificent and there is a very pleasant swimming pool. It is a haven of peace at the heart of Latium and a perfect base to discover this region : villages perched in the Monte Lepini, the lakes in the Colli Albani and the gastronomy...
We deeply recommend this agriturismo!

Was initially dubious having looked at the Castello on Google and read a few Italian reviews but I am there now and havng a fabulous experience. Barbara the owner is super helpful and the own of Cori is fabulous - we were the only tourists here for the week. Very Italian. People very friendly although little or no English spoken. A bit or role playing gets most messages across. Great wine, great coffee and fabulous ice-cream all at a fraction of the Roma prices.

Room Tip: All the apartments are compact but very clean and well presented. Will post short video on Utube und...
