We stayed at Torran B & B for 2 nights in August. We were warmly welcomed (even though we arrived early - by arrangement) with tea and homemade shortbread. Our room was spotlessly clean (as is all the house) and very comfortable and we had a large private bathroom next to our bedroom. Bath robe provided was an unexpected extra. Best of all though was THE BACON at breakfast - never tasted bacon so good before or since. I would not normally eat a cooked breakfast on two consecutive days, but could not resist Mairi's cooking. As for the location - Torran has a wonderful setting overlooking Loch Broom, the views are spectacular.
We loved the sheepdogs on the croft which are working dogs and very well trained - they did not set foot in the house! However they did like to chase a ball in the garden.
We would love to revisit in the future and would definitely recommend to others considering a break in the Highlands.

Room Tip: Only one of the two bedrooms has an en suite though the other has a large private bathroom. Either...

We stayed a total of 4 nights in August and had a very nice time there. The B&B is located at Loch Broom at the opposite site of Ullapool, and we enjoyed every single ride up and down the single track road, surrounded by sheep and poultry. From the B&B, you have a wonderful view over Loch Broom and the Highlands. It is very quiet and idyllic, and we felt at home immediately (especially if you like dogs you will love this place!). Mairi, the B&B host, is very helpful with recommending things to do and see, and she even provided us with hand-made hiking sticks. Breakfast is very good, with fresh products and own eggs. We especially liked talking to the other guests at the breakfast table about their plans, experiences and advice. Really one of the best places we stayed at during our Scotland trip!

I spent 16 days in Torran B & B, Mairi and Jek are very welcoming. The breakfast prepared with fresh products and own eggs is very good. It is a lovely place to stay calm and sleep well. Mairi gives excellent advice and idea of hiking.

There is a beautiful view from the house on the Loch Broom and the mountains. Loggie is located at 20 kilometers from Ullapool, many points of interest and hiking are not far (less than 1 hour by car).

I already said that I'll come back another year.

We stayed at Torran B&B last July. Mairi was very friendly, welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The arrival day, when we were totally soaked, She dried our clothes and prepared a hot cup of tea. They were always helpful and the breakfast was great. The entire experience was absolutely first class.
The room was perfectly clean, fresh and every detail thought of (plugs, accessibility, en-suite facilities etc.). We would not hesitate to stay with them again and have already recommended it to our friends.

We have stayed again at Mharis wonderful B&B after staying here in 2002, 2003 and 2007. Everything is perfect here. The hospitality of Mhairi is unbeaten yet. It is like homecoming.

Thank you very very much Mhari.

Best regards

Matthias and Irene

Mairi's attention to detail makes her B and B that bit better than many others. The accomodation was good and the breakfast excellent. Porridge for Geoff and mixed berries and fresh cherries with natural yoghurt for Sue followed by a great cooked breakfast. Selection of coffees and teas available.
The position of Torran is amazing and we had a wonderful picnic on Mairi's land by the Loch. We consider we have high standards that were definitely met at this B and B.

Although we stayed only for one night and had a lot of mist and rain, this still was a really great place to be, with a fantastic view, very nice rooms and a cozy dining room with an open fireplace. We felt very much at home and cared for and will be happy to return on our next trip to scotland.
