This beautiful hotel sits within the small village of Cartajima (100 people), one of the seven villages of the Alto Genal. With stunning 360 degree views from the rooftop balcony, this really is the perfect place to unwind – especially if you have spent the day walking around the wonderful surrounding area. In keeping with the morrish style Los Castanos is truly delightful and fits with the ambience of the village.
The hosts Diane and John are extremely welcoming and the food prepared is excellent. The alternative to eating at the hotel is the fun local village bar, where Balthazar will ply you with wine, beer and, if the mood takes you, a mystery meal (unless your Spanish is better than mine).
Ronda, which is one of the most visited historical villages in Andalucia, is only 16km away so is easy to visit by car, yet far enough not to infringe on the tranquil, authentic atmosphere of the village.
This is one of the most unique hotels we have had the pleasure to stay at and is a perfect place to switch off the mobile, crack open a beer, read a good book and most importantly – relax.More
