The cabin is better than any other cabins we have been in. Comfortable and cosy with all the home comforts you need. Didn't need the fire as the cabin was lovely and warm. Loads of hot water and gorgeous fluffy towels were provided. Great walks nearby and the cabion had everything you needed. Slight problem with hearing rain and acorns on the roof but hey we were on holiday in the woods! Smashing cream tea on arrival set us up for a great week. Will definately we back.

Last week we stayed here in a cabin. In the daytime we had a tight trip schedule (self made) and in the evening we stayed in the cabin to play cards. Thats because we are cardfriends since 1982, from the time we became neigbours. our favourite game is canasta.
Our stay was very good. It's a nice logcabin and everything we needed was there. One thing; There's very little privacy, for you can hear every sound in the house. The walls are thick, but sounds move right through them.
For the rest we can recommend this Woodpecker cabin to everyone. Comfortable and luxury indeed.
Our weather was very good.

We stayed here from 16-23 Aug 2013 and had a cabin for grandparents while the rest of the family camped or campervanned and it was super - we did have wonderful weather but the cabin was great on the one drizzly day with the cosy wood burner. The cabin was exceptionally well equipped, lots of cutlery, crockery etc and the beds were comfortable and the bathroom/shower positively luxurious with lots of large fluffy towels. Richard and Helen are perfect hosts and the cream tea on a plate on arrival was much appreciated. The heated swimming pool was appreciated by all of us and the woodland setting was lovely - would like to return when the rhododendrons are out.

Room Tip: We were in the Owl cabin tucked back from the others which was super

We had a lovely long weekend at Alpine Grove. The park is an idyllic location with great facilities for all the family. We stayed in Woodpecker log cabin which was tastefully done and fantastically well equipped - very comfortable indeed.

My family and I stayed in the Woodpecker cabin which was great. Very clean and everything you could think of in the kitchen. The log burner was great at night. The scones and jam when we arrived really set the tone for our stay which we could not fault. Fantastic campsite I can not recommend this enough.

Our family of 3 adults and 3 children spent 4 nights at this location .... t'was delightful. We had a double pitch and were allocated (not certain if you can choose), the spot we hoped for which was tucked away in amongst the trees and rhododendrons, shown to us by the friendly, hard working owners.
Showers, toilets and washing up areas were pretty clean and we rarely had to queue. The children (ages: 11, 9 and 4) all enjoyed the wonderful play area - outdoor table tennis (take your own bats/ balls), large trampoline, climbing equipment & slides - though we went out for a few hours each day, there was plenty to keep the children occupied (and safe) at Grove Park itself ... oh and of course the outdoor pool!
We enjoyed nice weather, badminton, BBQs, marshmallows and more ...... definitely booking again for next year and we'll be taking the dogs!!

We discovered this little gem about three years ago and we fell in love with it. As you turn into the site, you feel like you could be anywhere! Even when full, you don't feel crammed in. Great facilities... hot showers always a plus, swimming pool, playground with trampoline. The owner and his family are extremely welcoming. We would always recommend this wonderful site.
