5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2014 via mobile

If you're travelling to Bali and would like to spend most of your time outside, definitely this is not the place you are looking for. But if you are a couple, going for honeymoon or a kind of, then this is one of my favourite place. All the picture sent by reviewers are exactly as what I've experienced. The antique furnitures, clean rooms, very nice staffs, quiete place. This place is perfect!
Ps: please take care to moslems guests as they serve pork/bacon for the breakfast.

Stayed in their normal twin sharing room. The bedroom and bathroom are big and is able to accommodate more than 2 actually. the staff are friendly. the only disappointment is that there isn't any late night dining around.

I booked Wangsa as I desired a comfortable dwelling that offers privacy to a group of five. The Wangsa fitted my requirements perfectly - two bedrooms in a private villa, communal space, bonus: lap pool. When we entered the villa, we were awed by the look and ambience. The lap pool looked inviting. However, the goodness stopped there.

Issues faced:
1) air-condition unit in communal space required one to CLIMB ON A SOFA TO REACH TO IN ORDER TO SWITCH IT ON. Talk about guest safety. The remote control was nowhere to be found and the staff did not bother to look for it. Temperature and wind direction could not be changed.

2) water from the showerhead was a pathetic trickle on the first night. We arrived on a late flight and badly needed a warm shower to prepare for bed.

3) breakfast was pathetic, the chicken sausage didn't taste like a real chicken sausage. The orange juice was just sweet syrup. Banana pancakes were delicious, though. But on the second morning, they were doughy.

4) there was no water supply on the second morning after our breakfast. Imagine our frustration, with no water to wash our hands and mouths before we leave for our activities.

5) When we returned after a long day, we were horrified to find that there was no water AGAIN. One of us was in the midst of showering and had to suffer the discomfort of sleeping with soap on her skin.

6) The staff attended to us almost immediately but could not render proper assistance because the manager could not be reached by phone. They offered to change our rooms to the single units complex. We hastily packed our belongings and walked out of our villa, some of us in pyjamas. Alas, there was no water there TOO. Frustrated with the helpless situation, we returned to our villa with Aqua dispenser containers which honestly didn't help much as they were so heavy to lift when we poured out water, ration-style.

7) Bedsheets and towels had spots on them

8) the inviting lap pool on the first night turned out to be littered with dead leaves from the DISEASED tree planted nearby

It was a memorable experience which we wished we need NOT have gone through.

My experience at the Wangsa was an utter disappointment. The owner of this property is not willing to pay for quality building materials and staff and it shows. The rooms in the villa are looking worse-for-wear, despite the property being only 5 years old. Staff lack the ability to manage a crisis well. During my stay, the entire resort ran out of water while I was in the midst of a shower. Staff were at a complete loss as to how to manage the situation and we, as guests, had to offer them possible solutions.

I understand that the resort's water shortage is a result of unpaid water bills. This property is facing SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH MANAGEMENT and I would advise anyone considering this hotel to give it a miss.

There is much to be said about a hotel which relies on gimmicky rates to lure unsuspecting tourists.

Although my friends n I spent less than 48 hours in the hotel, whatever that could have gone wrong went wrong.

Firstly the ceiling plaster in one of the bathrooms caved in. And it couldn't b fixed till the following day, just because... I never knew why. We weren't given an explanation. All of us had to take turns showering in the other bathroom.

However, having our water supplies cut off in the middle of the night really topped the cake. We couldn't shower (some of us were in a middle of one)we couldn't flush the toilet...think of childhood days at a school camp, only ten times worse. At 1am we were asked to pack up and move to another room, only to be told later that there was NO WATER IN THE ENTIRE ESTATE!!!!! We asked to be put up at the conrad for the night but the manager was fast asleep n the staff were like lost sheep.

Somehow we made through the night. We didn't get a refund for all the inconvenience and even had to request a waiver of the breakfast charges. No initiative.

I neglected to mention that the breakfast was deplorable, we were better off eating tidbits. And rotting fruit was left on our dining table everyday. If I were the hotel staff, I wouldn't even bother. Towels were dirty and covered in brown spots. Lap pool was murky and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in while. What were all the staff doing ?there was no one else on the estate (but us)

In summary a nightmare of a hotel. We would much rather have paid a little more and stayed somewhere much better

We were enticed by the cheap price of Wangsa located just opposite Conrad Bali. The online reviews were also not too bad, according to our research done. However, we were in for the greatest shock of our lives. The resort was spacious and there were 2 rooms , 1 living rm and a jacuzzi. We were impressed at first glance.
However, closer inspection revealed dirty walls, lizard droppings were everywhere, towels they gave us were spotted. We arrived at around 10pm the first night and the rainshower was trickling...it was more of a drizzle. We could hardly bathe.

The second night, there was no water for us to use. We could not flush the toilet, could not bathe and were greatly inconvenienced.
The manager was no where to be found and the hapless staff could do nothing. We were left stranded without water.

Although we could bathe the next morning after enduriing a night without water, the resort quickly ran out of water by 10am... The cook even admitted that she used mineral water to cook.
Truly a terrible experience and please do not patronise this villa and be tempted by the relatively cheaper price. We would have rather paid more to ensure a comfortable stay.
