“A hotel and spa par excellence on a comfortable budget”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2010

Warm staff and large comfortable rooms. A good swimming pool and spa. Serves an excellent breakfast though the restaurants are over-priced. There are however good restaurants and water-sports nearby. Though far from the main town, cabs are available that can be arranged by the hotel...or also at more reasonable rates on your own. A small departmental store located nearby from where beer and snacks are available.

This was my 6th time to Bali and the first time I had stayed in the Benoa area. I was looking for a relatively quiet hotel where I could relax and swim and also go out. The Ramada was just what I was looking for.
The hotel itself is stunning the service is amazing. The staff are very efficient and friendly and I couldnt of asked for more.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and mine overlooked the pool area. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice ranging from Asian dishes to fruit, fried foods, danishes and pastries and salads. My only gripe about breakfast is that the juice isnt cold but that is minor issue.
The TAO restaurant across the road was lovely with great food and service and reasonably priced. Dinner at the actual hotel was lovely and the same menu as room service. We ordered room service a couple of times after all day tours and the food was hot and tasty and delivered quickly.
There are plenty of restaurants in Benoa. They are a bit of a walk but all restaurants offer free transport to and from the hotel. Reception can organise this for you. There is a shuttle bus hourly that leaves for Bali Collection, a good set of shops in Nusa Dua, bout 20 mins away.
Kuta is easily accessed by the free shuttly bus or by taxi. By getting the hotel to order a taxi it costs RP 100 000 which is roughly A$15 so that is pretty good. It can be a little cheaper is you get a blue taxi on the meter.
The location was what we wanted and having stayed in Kuta before, Benoa is the perfect way to relax. It is quieter and cleaner and there isnt anyone jumping out at you to drag you into their shops, which is one thing that used to annoy me about going into Kuta - being hounded.
It was a lovely hotel and I was sorry we only stayed 12 days. The only gripes we had were the money changer always ran out of money but there are plenty of changers around, and we wanted to extend our check out time and the guy on the desk was pretty rude about it and didnt want to extend the check out time. We fixed that the next day when a woman came on the desk who extended the check out then and there.
Great hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was ok though a bit isolated, needed taxi to get anywhere, walking was a bit far for 4 year old. My biggest complaint was the hotel staff giving out my name to people solociting for time share. I had constant phone calls to my room to say some one was there to see me or on the phone for me, I asked for no more calls to be put through to the room but the calls persisted. No one in Bali knew I was at that hotel so the only way they could have gotten my name would be from staff. I ended up leaving the hotel 3 days early because it was so annoying.

Me and my family stayed at this resort for two weeks. We had a great time! The staff was absolutely amazing. They are fantastic!! We travelled with our 20 months old son and 4 years old son all the staff remembered my older son name and would come and say hi everyday. They were so helpful and made sure that we were having a good time. They have 2 pools, one at the hotel and one across the street from the hotel. They also have a beach area across the street from the hotel. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean, you get two complimentary water bottles and fresh fruit every day. The bed is king-size,They have a great buffet breakfast in the morning, and a good restaurant in the hotel and one across the street. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the prices were very reasonable! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation! We were very sad to leave Bali and if we have the opportunity to go back we wouldn't hesitate and stay at Ramada Benoa, Bali again!

Resort facilities were generally good, always found a nice spot in the sun near the pool. Had to insist that the room be cleaned on one occasion. Reception staff started stalking me with the hotel bill 2 days prior to checkout, copy of bill was left under the door and messages left on room telephone several times over the days before checkout. Organised a late check out but returned to my room 2 hours prior to the checkout time to find myself locked out of my room. Restaurant within the main building very disappointing, although the restaurant on the beachfront was outstanding. Spa within the complex very nice, reasonably priced for a hotel and very good service. Internet usage was process was shambolic with one process one day and prepaid vouchers the next. Shuttle bus system to Nusa Dua very convenient, not safe to walk around the footpaths outside the resort in the dark but most restaurant further back towards Nusa Dua happily drive you home for free. I have stayed in the Tuban area in the past but would probably stay in Nusa Dua next time.
