“Lovely place by the sea”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

This little cafe is right on the beach of Blackpool Sands, open all day and in the evening, we didn't think we ended to book but I went in to make sure and was told they were fully booked the entire week! However the lady serving me was lovely and said she would be able to squeeze us in within an hour or so, we returned later and true to her word she had saved us the table, the view of the sea whilst eating lovely food and wine made this a special night to remember the atmosphere in the place at night is lovely and relaxed and the staff are so friendly, the food is lovely and fresh and you get great portion sizes too unlike some other places we've been too! We left feeling full, happy and relaxed! Would love to go back soon.

“Venus money trap….”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

I was extremely angry and quite surprised when I was unable to buy a vegetarian salad?!?! obviously leaving the meat off was far to taxing for the highly skilled kitchen staff. The food is extremely poor and overpriced….when you spend nearly £3 on a 'Sicilian Lemon Luscombe' you expect the whole bottle rather than a plastic cup. This has definitely altered my opinion of Luscombe and would be interested to finds out if they knows you were marketing their product in this way.

“Poor food & the wasps are a nightmare!!!”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

We decided to take another trip to what we thought was still a wonderful venus cafe for a full english breakfast. The inside seating area was quite packed & there was many screaming children, so we decided to sit outside along the glass front being as the view of the beach is wonderful. I'm afraid after that it wen't downhill. For the price of £21 for 2 breakfasts the food was poor. The bacon was quite fatty & gristly, the sausages were just like your average Wools with no texture, apart from having quite a few bits of bone to grind your teeth on. Yuck!! To top it off we we're also constantly attacked by wasps. There must have been at least 10 of them flying around our food, so everytime you went to take a mouthful you also had to be careful not to swallow a wasp. Which wasn't at all relaxing to say the least!

“Incredible location, service quality and value”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

We had been advised to give this eatery a try and so glad we did. It might be called a cafe but the quality of food and service was equal to many restaurants less deserving of the title. The location was superb as was the food (we had the hake). The service could not be bettered and it did not end with our visit there. I dropped my husband's sweater outside and on inquiry it was found and returned to us by post as we were leaving Devon early the next day. I wish we lived nearer and were able to visit the Venus Cafe more often. J Morley
