My fish was cooked beautifully, moist and tasty, with just enough chips would definitely recommend. My friend had local sausages which were really tasty

“Simple but super”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

The Brill Plaice is on the road between Dartmouth and Slapton at Stoke Flemming. It appears very unassuming and the sign advertises fish and chips to take away, indeed it services the adjoining camp site. But this little restaurant in a converted roadside boat shed or garage(or so it appears) has more to offer. The homemade bread is a treat. They have a few, but good mid-price bottles of wine and yes, the crisp fried fish is very good. But so are some other dishes such as chili prawns and sea bass. A simple style, but loveyl food served by a family who care.

“Great Plaice for good fish!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

It must be a couple of years since we had eaten here, probably on our last stay at the much missed Southfield House b&b across the road. Staying up at South Town/Warfleet Road we had eaten at Rockfish, Royal Castle, Taylor's and Spice Bazaar in Dartmouth so we fancied somewhere we hadn't eaten for a while, so booked a table at The Brill Plaice.
We were the only diners from 7 pm until some more arrived about 7 30 onwards and it felt more like a restaurant, I think we booked a little too early to be fair.
We both had the fish soup which wants some beating for taste, followed by grilled whole lemon sole and cod wrapped in salmon deep fried in the lightest batter, both tasted superb. The only slight draw back with any fish, in this case the lemon sole is beware of the many bones.
The whole bill was £43.00,including drinks and coffee's, each starter and mains came out at £17.00 each, which I think is good value for money. We certainly enjoyed our visit to The Brill Plaice!

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

If you want straight forward bistro type food & fresh fish then this "plaice" is hard to beat for both quality & value. This isn't fine dining & is all the better for it. competently cooked food by a chef who clearly cares about his punters.

“Where is home made burgers for takeaway”

Burgers on takeaway would make it the best takeaway in Dartmouth!!!! Restaurant does them but not takeaway? Must sort this before summer holidays.
