Fantastic 4 nights at Kaywana Hall. I can only echo all of the sentiments and superlatives expressed in previous reviews and look forward to a return visit at some point in the future. Kaywana Hall is a fantastic experience and Tony and Gordon are fabulous hosts.

We visited for our 10th wedding anniversary and had a lovely restful stay. The room 'Ash ' was spacious, comfortable & stylish with everything you could possibly need which is also replenished daily. The bathroom is modern & stylish with a great shower & bath. It was lovely to have an outside area to relax in & we were lucky enough to use the pool. The breakfasts are plentiful with a choice, I had the daily special both mornings which were fantastic. Tony & Gordon are very friendly & helpful hosts & we look forward to a return visit next year!

We stayed for 3 nights at the start of the Easter holidays.
Location - within walking distance of the ferry to get you to Dartmouth
Accommodation - Huge bed, home made biscuits / fudge, sweets refilled each day, top quality teas / coffees, Korres toiletries, amazing walk in shower / bath tubs with luxury bubble baths.. It's very clear that every detail has been thought through. Private outdoor terrace which is basically a suntrap to enjoy a glass of wine. Tons of local information including up to date restaurant menus / contact details etc in the room as well.
Food - A 3 course breakfast of locally sourced food - delicious and set us up perfectly for the day.
Hosts - Tony & Gordon were amazing hosts and really went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our time with them.

Tips - Eat at The Seahorse and Rock Fish. Enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace.

Room Tip: We chose Beech - terrace has sun for the longest.

Tranquil location. Great grounds. A beautiful home, exquisitly decorated and furnished. Amazing room, with THE most comfortable bed I have slept in, great views, an abundance of in-room amenities, luxury bath suites and toiletries. A superb selection at breakfast that really sets you up for the day. (Try each of the specials!)
The proximity to the village of Kingswear and across the river to Dartmouth allows you to walk and explore the community with ease and at your leisure.
Tony and Gordon make you feel so welcome as soon as you enter the sweeping drive towards Kaywana, nothing is too much trouble. But then, everything has been thought of!
Cannot wait to return; next time I shall make use of the outdoor pool!
I can't recommend Kaywana highly enough!
Many thanks to Tony and Gordon, you truely have created a stunning home and so thankful that you share it with us!

We stayed for 4 nights as I was celebrating a significant birthday in November. Tony and Gordon were great hosts and made us feel very welcome to Kaywana Hall. Our room was Ash and it was really comfortable with a super en- suite. We slept well and looked forward to breakfast each day. The Sea Horse restaurant was our choice for my birthday and it was excellent. The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We hope to return in better weather.

Room Tip: Ash is very private as it is above the main house and very quiet.

We visited Kaywana Hall for the duration of Dartmouth Regatta, 2013. Wow, were we impressed! Gordon and Tony are the perfect hosts, truely. The property really has the 5 star WOW factor, and we felt perfectly respected and welcomed from the moment of arrival. The room we stayed in had a private terrace ( which all rooms do ) on which the evening sun was a warm welcome after a day exploring the coast paths on both sides of the River Dart. Amazing room, furnishings are obviously hand chosen, the bathroom was spotless, and the most comfy bed ever with sumptuous bed linen. Addition of a fridge in the room is a great idea guys, as was the fine glassware,Thanks! Outside, the Bamboo in stylish pots, pebbles, slate walkways. glass screens and white washed walls with designer concealed night lighting that leads you to your room is impecable. The heated pool was huge, we tried to use it each day. Breakfast is a treat, make sure you don't rush it, as there's plenty of choice and is all recommended and prepared for you whilst you wait. You cannot feel anything but relaxed at Kaywanna Hall, and you have to appreciate all the work and attention to fine detail on every aspect, from design, to making sure nothing is ever too much for the guests. We have been lucky enough to have stayed in some real top class hotels over the world, and Kaywana really ranks with the best! We shall return, especially considering we live only 6 miles away! Thanks guys..... x

Having read a 10 page feature in the September issue of "Coast" magazine we fell in love with Kaywana Hall and hastily rearranged our schedule so that we could indulge ourselves a little. Friends and family alike had said they hoped it was as good as it looked. It was.

From the moment you drive through the enormous gates and up and around the sweeping drive way you know you have found a very special place. First impressions of the house: quite simply WOW! Before we had even parked the car Tony was there to welcome us and he carried our luggage to our room. We had chosen to stay in Ash which was delightful, The bed is superking and beautifully dressed, the artwork, the curtains, the armchairs, the desk, the lighting...everything is perfect. On the bookcase you will find a lovely selection of "coffee table" books as well as an interesting history of the house as well as a collection of glass jars that are filled with Jelly babies, fudge and biscuits. In the wardrobe you will find tea and coffee making facilities and tumblers, wine glasses and champagne flutes. The guys have thought of everything!
The bathroom has a real wow factor and really lovely soft fluffy towels, bathrobes, slippers and high end toiletries come as standard. There is a lovely rainfall shower as well as a bathtub complete with "bath bombs" and the mirror is heated.
Outside there is a lovely decked area which during the summer months would have been lovely and actually very private.

Breakfast is served in the main house and the menu changes daily. We had fresh fruit and yogurt with granola to start and then enjoyed scrambled eggs with salmon, mushrooms on toast as well as the full English. Everything is sourced locally and is presented beautifully.

The local area is well worth a visit and the tiny ferry that transports you from Kingswear across the water to Dartmouth runs frequently until around 11pm. We enjoyed a trip on the steam railway, a river cruise and a visit to Totnes and Salcombe which is absolutely stunning.
Locally shopping in Dartmouth is very good and there are some lovely restaurants. Our favourite was Twentysix: a french bistro but Annabelle's was very good.

We were sorry to leave but are looking to check in again, maybe during the summer months when we can enjoy the pool and this amazing place in the sunshine.

Thank you Tony and Gordon for allowing us to share your amazing home.
