“A 'character' pub and his name's Colin.”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

The owners of Raddicombe Lodge recommended The Ship as a dinner venue for a group of fourteen of us. We booked with Colin the landlord and he couldn't have been more accommodating. We changed the time at short notice but that was no problem. The Ship is a proper pub that serves excellent meals. The menu offers plenty of choices with fresh fish daily. We had a great night and listened-in to the quiz that was being held in the bar. Colin has a wry sense of humour and is a welcoming host. We'll definitely be back.

“Great night out!”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

14 of us ate here, booked a table in advance. Landlord (Colin) is a real character, hands-on with plenty of wit to last the night! Good menu, local produce, all freshly cooked and reasonably priced. Friendly staff.
Only down-side is the ladies toilet which is at the back via the smokers area.
Would definitely recommend this pub.

“Pop in for a pint”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

This is where the locals drink. The Otter beer tasted good but was perhaps a little expensive at £3.50.
