Horizon hotel is the 3rd we have stayed in whilst holidaying in Altinkum, we have been holidaying in this part of Turkey for the last 11 years so could say we realy love it.Our last 4 visits we have stayed in the Horizon and after 1st visit the family who own it immediately recognized us when we returned , the family that own the hotel are very friendly, helpfull and do everything they can to make you want to stay with them again. We will no doubt be booking our 2015 holiday soon and will be booking back into the Horizon. The hotel is literally a 2 minute walk to the beach, shops and restuarants , the rooms are modern and are very clean as is the hotel itself our sheets and towels were changed every day I would certainly recommend a stay here.

Room Tip: Our room was 113 on the front of the hotel overlooking the main street and shops ,very nice location

We Have stayed at this hotel on 6 occasions for a week at a time. Good location as only A short walk to a lovely sandy beach. Ideal location for the beaches, shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean and adequately furnished with daily maid service, Bathrooms have been modernised and upgraded. Front facing Rooms have a balcony which is small but perfect for drying beach towels etc, Breakfasts are traditional Turkish. Because of its location it can get a little noisy with vehicles and holiday makers having fun, however that's the price you pay for an ideal location.

Handy position also for boat trips, watersports and Turkish Baths.

A family run hotel where the Staff are very friendly and helpful. On arrival we were immediately recognised and welcomed back - which was a lovely touch.

Air con is a must for July/August time as temperatures can reach the mid 40's.

The pool area is small but very clean and the water warm.

There are plenty of Mosquitoes about so try to keep the balcony doors shut. There is a Pharmacy next door to buy spray and plug in repellents which do work.

Would we go back to the horizon? You bet we would.

Room Tip: Ask for a double or twin front facing room

Horizon hotel is great for those who are not looking to stay too long at hotel. We travelled in a group of 7 (all girls) and we got three rooms for 7 nights. Booked via Thomascook, we got a good deal for the room and included breakfast and transfer to the hotel. The hotel itself is moderate with nice enough staff. We got room on each floor (107,201 and 304 I think). Room 201 was the closest to the reception area was the only one with accessible WIFI. The other rooms did not allow WIFI access. Nevertheless, this was only a problem at night after a long day out. The rooms were clean, cleaned everyday and towels changed too. The rooms were secure each with a balcony overlooking the beach or pool. Overall, we were happy with the hotel. The pool was another great thing, it was great and catered to those unable to swim.
Minor issue was the breakfast, it was the same on most days and after day 3, some of us didn't bother going down and the mosquitoes at night in the lobby, however the staff provided us some bug spray (for free) which we appreciated.

The BEST thing about this hotel however is the location. Its 2 minutes from the beach and the strip! Many restaurants and clubs. It was a very eventful holiday with something to do differently each day. Access to boat trip, jet skis, water park, Turkish bath and more!

Overall, we really LOVED our time at the hotel and Turkey. As this was our first holiday ever and first time in turkey, we looked forward to experiencing AS MUCH AS Possible. Horizon Hotel allowed us to do this and even more!

All 7 of us would like to thank the staff for the wonderful stay and we will be back if we visit Altinkum once again.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms facing the pool because mosquitoes seem to like this area. Rooms from 3rd floor a...

Booked this holiday 3 weeks prior departures so got a good value offer for 11 nights.
We arrived at the hotel and were pleased that the owners immediately recognised us and welcomed us with warmth.
We took our 4yr old granddaughter so asked for a bigger room 216. Our original allocated room was issued that evening and at 9am the following day our request was granted.
This is our 3rd stay and we have stayed at quite a few hotels in Altinkum, this should be enough to advise it is adequate.
Location is probably the best in town.
Rooms have all received bathroom complete refurbishments.
Twin rooms are quite small.
Breakfast, Turkish but ok. You can eat out for a few lira.
Pool small with limited beds. Enough for a cool down.
Weather great
Altinkum, great for family's.Lots of hotels could do with a demo and new quality ones put in place. This is currently happening but further afield from the centre.
Beach and sea v good. Sand not pebbles.
Value for money restaurants, bars, trips excellent.
Use trip advisor for some good places to eat. Excellent Italian 5min up from hotel. U have to book.

Room Tip: Don't go for a back facing room and in season pay for Air Con

Second time in Altinkum..... The Horizon was not the cheapest but was horrible. Breakfast was really poor. No fruit juice or cereals. Didn't even bother after first day. Pool was so small and dangerous if you have little ones as the doors open straight onto it, Literally a 2 inch gap! We used a pool at our friend's hotel. Never ate at the hotel as the snack menu was basic and very expensive for the area. Rooms were clean but balcony was unusable! backed onto another hotel (an alley) View was of a sun lounger that the Turkish Irish Bar Staff slept on! Room was on the corner next to the stairs and lift so heard everyone as they came in and went out. Air con was 7 pound a day but is essential if you are on the back as the mosquitos are unbelievable! Not to mention the aircon leaking into a bucket (great playground for mozzies). Altinkum is a great town but give this hotel a miss!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: We requested pool view but did not get it. You need to be on the street side to even have an OK stay...

Just arrived back from a 10 day stay at the Horizon hotel Altinkum, rooms were very clean, god bless the maid! However very dissapointed with reception staff, had problems when wanting to keep the room on(check out) 12 lunch time, no curtesy room to shower, could keep the room on for £20, but only till 6pm! Was told we could use the shower behind outside pool, you had to be a ninja to get round to it, also filthy in there, and VERY OPEN , SO EVERYBODY COULD SEE YOU!! Air con very expensive £50 a week, ....so all in all, if you are wealthy, and dont mind flashing your wobbly bits, this might be the place for you!!!!
