“Basic accommodation but amazing views”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

Stayed here as part of our "Active Tour" through Turkey. The accommodation was basic, with two single beds and shared bathrooms. Clean nonetheless. But you don't come here to hang out in your room. My partner and i made the precarious trek down to the beach at the bottom of the cliff. Amazing! One of the high lights of our trip for sure. Be careful climbing down though, it is very dangerous and there are rope climbs that you do without any equipment.
We spent the rest of our afternoon watching the sun set from one of the hammocks facing the water.
The home cooked meals are amazing, a really good taste of home cooking. All vegetarian too we noticed!

We stayed at George House for 6 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The peaceful properly is situated at the top of butterfly valley at the access point to the adventurous trail down to the beach below. We stayed at the air conditioned bungalow with ensuite bathroom. The bungalow was spacious, extremely clean and had a fantastic balcony with a partial valley view. Facilities on site included a much appreciated spring water fed swimming pool with surrounding loungers, a new inside dining hall with an amazing staff kitchen, and a outdoor bar and sitting area with fantastic view of the valley. The included delicious breakfast and dinner were buffet style with dinner being different every night and much of the produce was grown on site. Unlimited coffee and tea was available during our stay and lunch and other snacks can be ordered anytime through the day. No need to buy bottled water as tap water is drinkable there since it is sourced from a spring. The owner Hasan, our hostess Kat, and all the other staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, professional, and helpful. Kat organized regular guided hikes otherwise she suggested numerous hikes in the area including a 10 km hike to Kabak with an option of return by dolmus. George House is a perfect getaway for those who seek outdoor adventures without compromising comfort.

One of the most scenic places to stay.
Simple accommodation with all you need, ranging from shared ablutions and "tree-houses" to en-suite rooms.
Great starting point for a hike on the Lycian trail.
Nice area, away from the major tourist areas on the coast, allows for some time to appreciate the environment and setting.

What a great place located at the cliff above butterfly valley and at the crossroads of lucien way far away from the hassle and crowds ofb oludeniz and ovacik but perfectly convenient and well connected by bus.

We paid 25usd per person for a new and clean AC bungalow with ensuite bathroom. Breakfast and dinner was included in the price. Food was amazing and plentiful. Staff in general was very attentive.

It's by far best value for money you can find in Faralya and Kabak.

if only the courtyard was less chaotic and better maintained, the place would easily earn the 5th star. Now it's a nice viewpoint with some sitting place but has a much larger potential. WiFi could also be more reliable.

All in all, a wonderful place. If you are an independent traveler in Turkey, this is your place to stay.

the people are very nice in that place, the food is very good, rooms are simple but good. the toilet and shower are also good and clean (as clean as shared bathrooms are). you have a beautiful view and the walk to the valley is not too easy but if you know that it contains short climbing parts (with ropes) it is manegable.
I didnt swim in the pool but it seemed very clean (but cold)
i loved to stay longer than one night, but there was no time. it is a wonderful place to stay, and also the beach is a dream come true!

Room Tip: if you have a tent, it is also possible to camp there

We were hiking Lycian Way from Ovacik to Faralya when we stayed at Georges House. We had a nice cabin with our own bath with a gorgous view of the butterfly valley, incredible buffet dinner (mezes, lentil patties, fish, salads) and delicious breakfast buffet all included for 120 tl for 2 of us! This was by far our very best food in Turkey!!!. We met a couple from Austria at dinner who was staying at another place and heard about the good food here so was just eating dinner here. Fantastic!! Stay here you won't regret it!

Too expensive for what we got.
We were searching for a room with a private bathroom, we got a room with 3 single beds and had to pay 60€ each!! Thankfully the dinner was included.

We pushed 2 beds together and found a lottt of dirt on the floor where one of the beds were.

Open shower, so water went everywhere..even escaped from the bathroom and went on our suitcases.

We arrived kind of late (around 18h) and we didnt feel very welcomed.

Dissappointed in terms of our welcome and the price!! Way too expensive for what we got. We stayed in many better/cheaper places in Turkey.

Location is beautiful and food was good.
