Had a fantastic stay at Tudor Cottage over Easter. I was curious to see a place that had all five stars from other reviews and I tell you what - the place is fantastic and is absolutely true to what other reviewers say. Although our room's bathroom was private but not ensuit, I havent seen anyone else on the corridor during 3 days and had no problem walking just a few steps from our room. There are no photos of bathrooms on their profile but bathrooms are immaculate and you can see them in a video guide on the Tudor Cottage's website. The region promotes the policy of no lights in the night time so you will see the starry sky you've never seen before. Hosts provide the little torch to navigate in the village during the darkness. All in all, very professionally run with excellence all round, and a real willingness to ensure that guests are happy - and we were. Do visit a falconry just around the corner they hold shows at 2.30 flying the birds and telling lots of interesting stories. Rocky Valley is a drive away but worth a visit too.

With all the talk of the terrible floods in Somerset, this place is definitely open and we are really glad that we stayed. Unfortunately it was only one night, but an ideal setting, peaceful countryside and excellent hosts.
Thank you.

Thank you both so much for taking the time to review us. We are glad you enjoyed your short visit and hope to see you again sometime, maybe for a little longer next time. Thank you for mentioning that we are open as usual for business. Although the floods did not affect Exmoor National park at all the businesses around here have certainly been suffering from the fall out.

What a great weekend! Anne and Ash were lovely, welcoming hosts who gave very good advice on local walks and eateries. The breakfast was smashing, local meat and free-range eggs, and cooked exactly as requested (excellent crispy bacon!). The room was comfortable, with a wee mini bar and tea and flapjacks.

A really great B&B and definitely recommended! Only a couple of tiny things which stop it getting that "Perfect" 5 stars. We didn't spend much time indoors as the weather was too nice, but the guest lounge was a bit on the small side. (I love the maps though, really nice touch) The bed was just a tiny bit soft for my liking (personal taste though)... or maybe I just felt heavier after all the food (The Ship Inn up in town does AMAZING sticky toffee pudding BTW).

I would definitely stay here again!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The guest lounge is only small as we are a "cottage" but tends only to be used for the welcome tea or coffee. Your bed is a very new mattress but as you say it is personal choice and I am afraid we cannot please everyone; much as we would like to. Hope we will see you again sometime, there is much more to do in the area.

We had a lovely reception upon arrival from Ann and Ash. We stayed for two nights in Selworthy. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for our hosts. The accommodation was first class, beautifully presented, immaculate but at the same time very homely. Breakfast was delicious, even down to home made bread for the toast. Lovely village setting and great walks straight from the doorstep. We certainly hope to return for another stay.

We had a wonderful three days at Tudor cottage, Ann and Ash were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The room ( luccombe ) was lovely as was the private bathroom, just a few steps from the room. The famous breakfast was fantastic, really set you up for the day. We really felt like this was home from home and will return for another visit.
The Village and surrounding area is beautiful, so relaxed and the perfect place to chill out.
Thank you Ann and Ash for a truly wonderful few days.

We stayed here for our anniversary and we are so glad that we chose this B&B. Set in a pretty location, that is great for walks straight from the doorstep, it looked lovely on approach and very welcoming. You can spot the little touches as soon as you walk through the door, and we felt really at home thanks to the warm atmosphere and welcome from Ann. Nothing was too much trouble, from the offer of help with the luggage to the delicious flapjack that was awaiting us in our room. The room itself was just what you'd expect in a pretty country cottage, full of quaint features and really comforting. We had delicious breakfasts comprising locally sourced produce and delicious homemade bread. We cannot say enough how lovely Ann and Ash were, they really made you feel at home and took time to talk and offer advice on the area. We recommend a walk down to the beach, a walk up Bossington Hill and around for tea in Selworthy, and a visit to Porlock and Porlock Weir to try either of the Ship Inns for some lovely food. If you're visiting beautiful Exmoor, then this is the perfect place to stay. Thank you Ann and Ash :o)

Had a truly wonderful stay at Tudor Cottage. Ann and Ash ensured we were made welcome and all the finishing touches in the room made our stay extra special. The location was breathtaking and after beautiful walks in the surrounding villages Ann and Ash served us with home made scones and tea in their beautiful garden.. The breakfast served in the morning was delicious with so much variety. I would definitely be visiting again. Thanks again.
