What a lovely place. The staff here are exceptionally helpful. Rooms were lovely and had an effective shower (just what was needed after a long day walking the wall). The evening meal and breakfast were both of a fantastic standard. The sausage and mash we had on the evening was absolutely delcious.
Massive thanks for such a warm and friendly welcome and a fantastic stay!

I stayed for one night with my two sons at the end of our third day of five of walking Hadrian,s Wall. From the moment we stepped through the front door we felt at home. Denise was there to greet us and looked after us. The family room we had was spacious and the beds so comfy. The power shower, along with the range of toiletries was second to none. We loved the honesty bar and the peace and quiet of the front room. The food, both at breakfast and dinner was superb. I've taken a card for a return visit with my wife. Brilliant.

This was our second stay in Brookside and everything was excellent as before. Denise gave us a lovely welcome which made us feel as though we were family and our every comfort was attended to. Loved our room with its big comfy bed and lovely big shower with plenty of hot water, and Denise is a wonderful cook and provides the best evening meals which is such a bonus when you've been out walking all day, and don't want to have to go and find somewhere to eat. We look forward to returning again next year.Thank you Denise and Gerry for looking after us so well.

Staying here was a highlight of our family road trip. Denise is a very welcoming host, who really went the extra mile for us. She had a baby monitor ready for us (as we were traveling with our little baby) and even lent us some contact lens solution as we'd forgotten ours! The food was fabulous. We are so glad we booked a dinner! After a cold day at the wall, the warm food and hospitality were very much appreciated. The b&b has lots of little touches that make it wonderful - the lounge with an honour bar and chocolates, the best bath/shower we've ever had in a hotel in the UK (unending hot water and great water pressure!), nice toiletries in the bath, an extra heater for cold nights and a very comfortable mattresses. We would definitely recommend this b&b!

Room Tip: We loved our bright family room - it was large with a double bed and a daybed. Lots of space for lug...

We had a lovely night at Brookside, despite the awful weather. Everything was cosy and comfortable and very relaxing. Denise was very welcoming and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was beautiful and Denise was very helpful in catering to my dairy allergy. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be going back!

We have now stayed twice at the Brookside Villa B&B - in June and October. Brilliant facilities and delicious food. Lovely hosts who took good care of us and nothing was a problem. First time we stayed was during our Hadrian's Wall Walk and second time with children. We would recommend it and will definitely be returning.

Tracy was standing-in as hostess during our stay and she did a fantastic job. A warm and friendly welcome set a high standard that was maintained constantly through our three-night stay.

Tracy's cooking was consistently excellent. Prepared freshly to order from local ingredients, we enjoyed all the meals we ate at Brookside from the extensive breakfast selection through to the delicious chocolate mousse and fruit crumble puddings in the evening. The packed lunches, also with many options, were a tasty convenience.

We were walking Hadrian's Wall; the transport service was a really helpful touch. Getting picked up at the end of the day's walk and then dropped off there the following morning to continue where we'd left off was brilliant. Our muddy dog wasn't an obstacle either!

The rooms were very clean and tidy, the dining room homely and the lounge comfortable. There's an honesty bar in the lounge - very pleasant to be trusted.

Overall, our stay at Brookside was excellent. It was exactly the sort of place that we looked forward to returning to after a day's walk. Tracy (and her co-opted family) could not have been more friendly, helpful or welcoming - and she served lovely meals to boot.

If we ever return to the area, we would stay at Brookside Villa again without hesitation.
