“a relaxing home in Malta”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2013

We found this place to visit the southern part of Malta and we got it as was convenient from a price point of view. Our room at upper floor had a nice balcony. only inconvenience can be the bath down the stairs, but not blocking point. Chiara and Frank are very nice and friendly and even it is a big family with small kids it is nice to see that this is not an obstacle for Chiara to be a smart guest and entrepreneur.
We choose this location not to be in an anonymous hotel but to have a feeling of real life in Malta.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Burrow a few months ago while in Malta for a work project. During the two weeks I was there, the owners, Chiara and Frank, were very accommodating. It was also very nice to come back there after very long working days to a welcoming environment, good home-cooked food, and fun and lively family. Definitely worth staying with them if you are visiting Malta for any reason.

Stayed with family and friends for one night.
Chose the room for the price, so we were very impressed with what he saw. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated. The owners, Chiara and Frank met very friendly. This is a large (4 children) and very welcoming family, parents and children are very well relate to the guests. Our son, 13 years old, got a lot of pleasure from communication with Frank.
Totally recommended ..

The Burrow is a picturesque place to stay in Malta. The owners, Chiara and Frank, are very friendly and you can share your experiences in Malta with people from any country at breakfast in their kitchen. The room was very nice and very good-taste decorated. Totally recommended.

We stayed for few days at The Burrows and I can tell it were some good points and another not so good ones, but it is a personal point of view.
The house is cosy and the guests are friendly and very chatty. Breakfast was excellent with jams made by Chiara and I can say that in their home you feel the specific of Malta. It is a good location to visit Malta.
We served dinner, with a very good red wine, made by Chiara, and it was delightfull.
And now not so good points:
The kids are a little bit noisy (this thing is normal till a point)
The adults are a little bit noisy (the hosts like do receive guests and it seems that despite the thickness of material, the walls are very thin).
The bathroom at the ground floor is very small and it is very difficult for a person to shave, because the sink and the mirror are not put together
In a conclusion this is a beautiful house, with charming guests, in a very specific place of Malta

I stayed one night at The Burrow while attending a business meeting. I found the owners very friendly, accommodating and helpful. I was served a tasty breakfast which I enjoyed while chatting with the friendly hosts. The house is a charming Maltese build. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Burrow.

I had an early morning flight and wanted a hotel close to the airport so I could sleep in a bit. After a quick glance at Trip Advisor, I decided to go with The Burrow. The location was close to the Tarxien temples, to the airport and easy access to Marsaxlokk. Not only that, the price was right and they had an airport shuttle.

Chiara and her husband's home is adorable and incredibly charming. They have a rooftop terrace where they throw evening BBQ's for their guests. My friend and I skipped the BBQ as we wanted to see Marsaxlokk instead, but we stopped up for a quick chat and it looked like everyone was having a great time. Chiara and her husband are very friendly, chatty people, but I have to say that she was a bit unorganized and it seemed as though her thoughts were all over the place. When we arrived she complained about how busy the day was and used that as an excuse as to why she lost the key to our bedroom. She called her husband but he didn't know where it was, although she assured us we would have one when we came back from exploring that afternoon. I asked her if we could have a shuttle to the airport at 7am the next day and she said her husband will take care of it. When we went exploring, I didn't feel confident that she would remember to tell her husband. That evening when we got back from Marsaxlokk, I thanked her husband for giving me a ride to the airport in the morning and he had no idea he was supposed to. Glad I checked or I would have been screwed! He also made a point to let me know that it was inconvenient for him to do so because he wanted to sleep. I guess he's going to school and is busy with homework, but then there shouldn't be a shuttle if it's too much of a hassle. They also never found the key, and when we brought it up to them again, the husband got defensive, asking us why we were so fussed about the key and was quite persuasive when telling us we didn't need it.

As far as our room goes, it was very clean, cozy and quite charming. The bed & pillows were very comfortable and it was rather quiet.

The breakfast is very limited with only bread, processed ham and some cheese. I have a gluten & fructose intolerance so I wasn't able to eat anything. Perhaps if you ask ahead of time for a variety of foods, maybe Chiara will prepare something else.

Overall, we didn't really feel all that welcome or comfortable at The Burrow. Although, for the price it is a nice place to stay for one night.
