We ate here on a whim one evening as we were staying nearby. Our meal was so good that we instantly booked for Sunday lunch the following day. I'll start by saying that all the food was very good but that was not the thing which impressed me most.

Instead I loved the atmosphere and ethos.
The atmosphere is low-key, warm and friendly - starting with the lovely front-of-house manager. The is a nice 'buzz' but also a feeling that anyone and everyone is welcome: this is not (thank god) reserved only for Sienna Miller et al. We say grandparents entertaining grandchildren, fathers and sons and dating couples: all welcome. I love that.

The ethos is equally commendable as they appear keen to be part of their community. As we were eating, the pizza oven was serving a regular flow of takeaway orders for local residents. Equally, at Frome market, we saw locals picking up their home-made bread at a store.

I really respect the fact that this business hasn't just imposed itself on Bruton, but appears integrated into it.

Well we have friends that swear by this place and go there all the time, but they are rather well healed as our most of their friends shall we say. I have always wanted to go but the description of a London style eatery to me means ££££ so I have never been until this evening.

Well what a shock. Stunning and I mean stunning venue, great lighting and paintings, buzzing environment just really great. The menu is a daily one so plenty of change, seasonal food on offer.

Service very good, the kitchen was open and contrary to all the TV shows was running like a well oiled machine, no shouting and swearing just three chaps working well as a team am food coming over the pass over all the time.

Portion sizes are very good indeed and the prices, well they are not London based they are very very good and in line with lots of other local places but you get so much better food here.

Charlie was the man in charge on our visit and he took the time to show us the down stairs area. We can't wait to make a Friday night for DJ, chill out side and a Pitza.

Great place, comes with loads of local recommendation and certainly lived up to its reputation. Thank you everyone for a great night out.

I love this place. Ten years on and it just gets better and better! We went last night for drinks in the basement with the fabulous resident DJ Mathew who plays every Friday. Always a great atmosphere, delicious cocktails and lovely crowd. We ended up staying for dinner as the wonderful manager Charlie managed to squeeze us in. Although really busy the food was outstanding and we were beautifully looked after by a lovely new waitress. We are incredibly lucky to live nearby and we visit often and have never been disappointed. If you haven’t been you must. Congratulations on 10 fabulous years guys!

We went for anniversary lunch and had a fantastic meal. The chapel has been converted and it feels really modern and fresh. The menu is concise but had good veggie options. The guy on the table next to us had a pizza and it looked great (and good VFM at £12 or so) but we were seduced by the mains. Hubby had sardines followed by lamb flat-bread. I had Ham salad and gnocchi. We both had the chocolate fondant for desert. It was all absolutely delicious. The service was the perfect balance between attentive, professional and relaxed. The on-site bakery and wine shop are a lovely touch.
