Located in the beautiful countryside of Somerset, we enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. One of the nice things about the restaurant is that on the way to the tables you pass by the open kitchen, where the chefs are cooking and the smell coming from the open grills tells you that this could be something special.

The menu was good and the food was very enjoyable, We had the Barnsley chops, they were very tasty and cooked to perfection. There also was a nice choice of deserts, in particular, the chocolate salami with coffee is something to die for. The service was very efficient and friendly. There was a very nice feel about the restaurant and the overall ambiance is great.

Price wise I would say, it's about right. Overall we had a really enjoyable evening and you can't ask for anything more. Life is about enjoyment !!

We will be returning shortly to celebrate a birthday.

Well done Roths

Had a great meal with very friendly staff. Mariusz the manager always goes out off his way to tend to the customers and meet their needs, the staff are friendly and professional. We all had different meals and all were delicious and great portions. Love this place. Really recommend it.

They add on 10% gratuity without even asking. The decision to tip is the customers not the retailers. For this reason alone I won't be back.

We visited mid afternoon on a Saturday in early September. The place was busy however we only wanted a drink and made our way to the bar. There were other people having a drink at the bar, and about 5 or 6 staff members getting drinks. However, all these drinks seemed to be for table service. Despite our best and polite efforts, not one member of staff made an attempt to catch our eye, say that they’d just be a minute or two. After about 10 minutes (literally) we decided just to leave. Some of the staff we clearly teenagers working a Saturday shift and probably doing what they were told i.e. service the table orders. However, someone presumably was supervising and should have made sure that some service was given to all customers.

We understand places get busy and we were very willing to wait, however to be ignored completely for so long, with world class not-making-eye-contact skills in use, was very poor (as well as rather rude). The place seems like it could be really good if it’s less busy and you get some decent service and attention. We don’t intend to return.

We went here for a 25 year celebration dinner for my local cycling club. 70 of us paid £35 each and I've been told the club subsidized the event to the tune of a couple of thousand pounds.

No plates or serving utensils for the "starter"; no vegetables apart from what you might have been able to find buried in the couscous -which was cold; and everyone expects "home fries" to be chips, not soggy roast potatoes!! As for running out of orange juice and coke at the bar -in 12 years of running a pub I never managed that!
There was only a choice of sweet if you didn't want the same as your neighbour and tea at the end of the meal came in a chipped enamel teapot which had to be passed down the table

The Roth Bar is not somewhere I have visited in the past as I thought it was too "posh" for me, I certainly won't be visiting it again.
