Great atmosphere at this pub the landlord is a very obliging. Food is very good and rooms are excellent. Sunday lunch highly recommended - the food is great and it's very good value too. The weekly pub quiz is also a great night out.

Stayed here for two nights with my boyfriend whilst visiting family who live locally. We stayed in the Summer room which was absolutely lovely; modern, well decorated, clean and very spacious. Considering being in a pub, it was not that noisy with music playing downstairs in the evening. We had a few meals here over the weekend, dinner was brilliant, all freshly cooked and there was plenty to choose from on the normal menu and specials also. For breakfast there was a choice of a full cooked breakfast, egg/bacon on toast etc. pretty much happy to make whatever you wanted and at a time that was suitable for us which was great. Also had the Sunday roast which you just can't fault for the price and quality. We had the chicken roast, everything was cooked perfectly and there was a lot of it! Finally, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Brilliant few days and would definitely recommend it whether it was just for food or somewhere to stay as well.

Went to the Halfway recently for Dinner, any exciting new menu and the food was excellent, in addition to a great selection of wine and terrific atmosphere, we had a great night out.

Would definitely recommend a visit to anyone visiting South Wales

Me and my partner went to the Halfway for Sunday dinner today. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Three courses for £9.95 and it was really good. Staff very accomodating as I am a vegetarian. Very polite and helpful and speedy service. Will recommend to all my friends and family.

My fiancé and I went to the Halfway for the first time, last Saturday (20th July, 2013) with friends of ours who visit there regularly. On first impressions I would say that "The Half Way" was clean, cosy and very welcoming. With the atmosphere relaxed. The service was very prompt, with friendly waiting staff. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and I would personally recommend the mixed grill for anyone with a huge appetite. Worth a visit, on a hot summers day, with lovely views from the beer garden. The only downfall were the two dirty wine glasses that came with our wine order. Other than this, very good.
