We had a great stay. The attention to detail that Val & Keith provide is second to none. From the sumptuous breakfast to the adorable Swallow room we stayed in with it's fabulous four poster bed with spotless linen to the large sofa ideal for relaxing before your next activity.
The location of the house is perfect for exploring the surrounding country side with beautiful panoramic views.
Whilst there we had a chance to check out the self catering cottage which has just been beautifully refurbished.
We would certainly stay with Val & Keith again

Attentive and considerate service at all times, without rush or hassle. A room to rest and relax in, tasteful and well appointed in many ways. The smallest of details has not been ignored. A wonderful, peaceful rural location well positioned to explore this area of South Wales. We enjoyed the room and the animal sanctuary the best - we liked it all.

After much internet searching I booked coedllys for a treat for my Mum's 70th birthday. Am very glad I did as my Mum absolutley loved it. We had a very warm welcome - including freshly made welshcakes but even better than that was coming into the driveway face to face with four Peacocks - fabulous.
The rooms are spotlessly clean with bright white super soft duvets. Views are amazing and our bathroom ( we stayed in the chaffinch twin room) was huge with a seperate bath and ( very refreshing) shower. Val has thought of everything - anything you may need is in the room - form binoculars to enjoy the view/birds to facewipes and a huge array of hair and beauty products. A card and wine were waiting for my Mum for her birthday - a really lovely touch
The very relaxing lounge - If I could have smuggled the sofas out in my luggage I would have!
We went on a wild walk in the grounds accompanied by two of the dogs and for some of the way some ducks!
Breakfast was delicious - there is a large selction to choose from and it's freshly made for you using their own freshly laid chicken egg's.
As a stand alone guest house Coedllys is fabulous but what made it that bit different and really made the trip for both of us were the animals. Val has rescued horses, donkeys - actually all the animals have been rescued and visiting the animals really helped to make the trip special.
My Mum is now busy telling everyone she knows to book a stay!
Thankyou Val for making my Mums birthday a special one - only wish we could have stayed longer:)

I stayed at Val and Keith's wonderful home in Feb attending Val's extremely informative and useful course on running a bed and breakfast. Even if I had been staying purely for pleasure it would have been great - the quality of the rooms and the service really are of the highest order. The room was lovely and the bathroom fanastic too. Such care has gone into every detail. Add to this the benefit of the course and it was a brillant 4 days and nights. I learnt so much about running a bed and breakfast with Val providing a wealth of valuable information - practical through to technical. I would recommend a stay at Coedllys with or without the course - it is run highly professionally and yet still welcomes you as a very warm and friendly home

I could not fault this lovely B&B in any way. The room was spacious, with fine furniture and tastful decor, the bed was very comfortable and I slept very well. Breakfast was first class with plenty of choice. There was a warm welcome from Val and Keith who made sure that I was happy with everthing including wifi. It was wonderful to wake up to great views and see all the abundant birdlife coming to feed. It was also very quiet being away from the main road down a track.
I can really recommend Coedllys Country House to families, couples or a solo business traveller as I was on this occasion.

My husband and i stayed at Coedllys Country House last week for 4 nights as we had booked to do the B&B Management course. It was great! We are brand new to the hospitality trade and needed to know the basic's of running a very small business. Val was great, as her real hands on experience is something you can't read in a text book. Also Val is a B&B inspector and rates B&B's, so it was useful to get some insider tips on what are the mandatory / minimum requirements for each star rating while at the same time how to work with the general public and manage all different types of paying guests. Coedllys Country House is in a wonderful rural location and the bedrooms are the best you will get in any 5 star B&B, the course was only £699 for 2 people, and that included 3 meals a day, the course and materials and accommodation. Great value for money. We even got to cook a breakfast. You might think you know how to cook a breakfast but when you have a number of guests waiting in the breakfast room, time is of the essence, so it was great to learn how to be organised in the kitchen. Also, Val included valuable information with regards to tax, VAT, H&S , food & hygiene and all other rules and regulations that must be considered when you have paying guests. Excellent! If anyone is about to embark on setting up their own B&B or Guest house, and has little or no knowledge of this business you should do this course!!!
