We stayed here as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday. Even though the reviews were all amazingly good, it managed to surpass my expectations! Val was brilliant from the moment I rang to book, recommending and offering to book a table for the big day at a local restaurant. When we arrived she was there to warmly greet us and show us to our beautiful room. To say we were spoilt rotten is an understatement, fresh fruit, chocolates, a variety of teas, coffees, all with fresh milk were waiting, as well as the most comfortable sofa and bed! The room was extremely welcoming and this is a first as I've never got excited about a hotel en-suite before, but this one has not on,y the usual shower-gels and shampoos, but a basket of goodies for you to use, as well as the most amazing power shower!
And the breakfast...wonderfully cooked, just as you want, if you can tear yourself away from watching the incredible display of birds through the dining room window! We were treated to a visit from the woodpecker every morning, pure joy!

The only down-side to positively reviewing somewhere like this on Trip Advisor is a purely selfish one...I want to keep this gem to myself! It really was the little touches that made coedllys so special, thanks Val and Keith

We were looking for a place to spend a relaxing short break. We wanted comfort, a touch of luxury and space to unwind. We got everything we were looking for!
Our room was beautiful, very comfortable, clean and spacious. The guest lounge was at our full disposal with a lovely wood burning stove, very comfortable sofas and a wealth of books.
Our breakfast each morning was delicious and Val was a lovely, warm, helpful hostess.
We had a fantastic break, the location was good for exploring the beautiful coast of this area and we would definitely return.

This is the best place we have ever stayed in. A very warm welcome from Val who greeted us in the carpark in the pouring rain. Wonderful views of the grounds and surrounding countryside. We'd have loved to do the woodland walk if we'd have been staying longer. Large room with excellent quality furnishings, sofa and luxurious bed. Every little detail was taken care of from well stocked tea trolley to fresh fruit and chocolates each day and large pamper box in bathroom with everything you could possibly need. Room and bathroom Spottlessly clean. Lovely en suite with power shower and quality shower products and soaps. Breakfast was lovely with a selection of choices and individual needs and tastes were catered for right to the finest detail. We would definately stay again and definately recommend to others.

Room Tip: All rooms of excellent standard (we had family staying in another room and cottage), spacious and lovely country views from each, Swallow room has luxurious french canopy bed.

Want to run a B&B? Come on this course first. Val and Keith's exemplary hospitality, with family warmth and professional quality, provided the ideal backdrop for their course "How to run a B&B". Information covered practical and legal aspects, full of personal illustrations that highlight vital factors in any smooth running 5* business. Their open and humerous sharing of hard won experience, is second to none. The opportunity to watch Val at work cooking breakfasts, and then try it yourself on other course members, gives immediate feedback on potential business performance! Then try your hand at cleaning. Even if you never run a B&B you will never regret or forget your visit to Coedylls country house. We learnt so much and began a friendship I trust will continue. "Thank you" Oh yes we loved the peacocks and all the animals and wild life. The woodland is old, follows the valley, has a stream, toadstools fungi, badgers. . and more.

Room Tip: Swallow and Chaffinch are two of the largest rooms we have used in a B&B Robin is a smaller room with a larger bathroom, having separate shower and bath

We appreciate ALL our wonderful guests comments on their stay at Coedllys.
We do not post a response to a comment - preferring instead to send a Thank you - privately via e mail.
I would like to take this opportunity to make a small correction to Liz's feedback - The Chaffinch has the large bathroom and not as posted -The Robin.
Val.
