Val and Keith make you very welcome in their country house home. The bedrooms are excellent and the breakfasts all you could wish for. Centrally located in Carmarthenshire you have easy access to many sites of interest and a lovely coastline, despite the indifferent weather we had a wonderful time.

What an amazing place! My husband and brother and I stayed here for two nights in the Robin and Swallow rooms and wished our stay could have been longer. We arrived jet-lagged and tired and tense from our first day of driving, but after 10 minutes here the stress just started melting away. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very spacious, the beds wonderfully comfortable, the bathrooms had everything you could possibly want and had fantastic power showers, and there's a lovely guest lounge with lots of games and books for an evening in, plus very pretty surrounding gardens/walkways.

It's in a quiet, out-of-the-way location so there's no traffic noise, only the birds (including peacocks, several of whom escorted us down the drive when we arrived!) and the sheep. There's such an atmosphere of peace and comfort to Coedllys. The only possible negative is that it is SO superb, it might spoil you for any other bed and breakfast you go to!

Val was wonderful with directions and ideas for our time in the area, and made us feel very welcome and comfortable, starting with the tea and welshcakes right when we arrived. Breakfasts were great, and so were the soup and sandwiches she made us on our first evening there. I really can't recommend Coedllys enough - everything was outstanding and absolutely first-class.

From the minute we drove in to the gravelled car park we knew we had arrived at somewhere very special. A truly delightful place with lots of character and a warm and welcoming feel about it. The swallow room that we stayed in was truly spectacular. An inviting four poster bed, plenty of tea/coffee, a wonderful bathroom with toiletries for us to use and the icing on the cake was the fluffy white towelling roles! The gardens were alive with birds and the peacocks roamed freely amongst the mature and perfectly maintained lawns. We were delighted to hear that Coedlys was also an animal sanctuary and we enjoyed seeing the ponies and donkeys grazing peacefully in the paddock. During our stayVal made us extremely welcome and looked after our every need. Nothing was too much trouble. She showed us around the cottage and the indoor pool that she allows her guests to use when it's filled in April. We definitely want to go back. This is a wonderful place and we couldn't recommend it enough.

We stayed here as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday. Even though the reviews were all amazingly good, it managed to surpass my expectations! Val was brilliant from the moment I rang to book, recommending and offering to book a table for the big day at a local restaurant. When we arrived she was there to warmly greet us and show us to our beautiful room. To say we were spoilt rotten is an understatement, fresh fruit, chocolates, a variety of teas, coffees, all with fresh milk were waiting, as well as the most comfortable sofa and bed! The room was extremely welcoming and this is a first as I've never got excited about a hotel en-suite before, but this one has not on,y the usual shower-gels and shampoos, but a basket of goodies for you to use, as well as the most amazing power shower!
And the breakfast...wonderfully cooked, just as you want, if you can tear yourself away from watching the incredible display of birds through the dining room window! We were treated to a visit from the woodpecker every morning, pure joy!

The only down-side to positively reviewing somewhere like this on Trip Advisor is a purely selfish one...I want to keep this gem to myself! It really was the little touches that made coedllys so special, thanks Val and Keith
