this is going to be long, since i never had such a bad experience anywhere (and i have been in some 3RD world countries paying 1$ for night)
i cant understand how it was rated so highly!
i saw it has a nice average reviews but didn'd read all of them, so i booked 3 nights for me and my 9 months baby, and a double room for my parents, after writhing and e-mail making sure they have a baby cot. the answer was positive.
now that i'm reading all the reviews, i can see that many of then actually rated it poor - and complaining the same things i have..
the place was so difficult to find. no signs in the town.. even the GPS couldn't find the dress. when we got to the place there was no sign or writing in the door.
there was no baby cot in the room. just a normal bed. it was to late to go and look for a new hotel so we decided to stay the night,
the baby slept on a mattress on the floor surrounded by other furniture so the he will not fall on the floor. the sink in the room was so small i couldn't wash him, and there was no hot water or enough current to take a shower. they did offered some used hard soap. There was no light in the toilet and above the sink in the double room but they couldn't fix it right away. both rooms were freezing with no heating,
the room was filled with strange old objects, rugs and curtains that were dirty and dusty,, not a place for anyone with asthma, or allergies (like me.. 3 day after I still can't stop scratching). at night they had a disco party but i wasn't sleeping anyway cause i was watching the baby afraid he will suffocate with the soft mattress and all the blankets.
the "buffet" breakfast was just some industrial pastry from the supermarket wrapped individually, and some warm almost cold coffee, and cold water for tea (the tea bag just floated there,, nod giving the water any color or taste).
after breakfast we decided to check out. i asked to pay for that night and just go away, but the manager insisted we will pay for two night. At that point i just said "no - we will pay for one night, or we will just drive away without paying. The manager told me he will have to call the police, and i answered "go ahead - let the police see for themselves the room you gave a mother and a baby. i'm sure they will take my side". of course he didn't call anyone, and just talked and talked about how special is the place and bla bla bla...
eventually we paid extra 15% on that night, stopped 20 minutes later in the best western in Viterbo, and for the same price enjoyed
a normal, friendly, clean hotel with a baby cot and nice breakfast.
