We booked through the Verandah and got picked up at Longbay Beach and shuttled directly to the middle of nowhere where there were two docks. There were only 5 of us on the boat, the captain and let's call him the first mate. We were there almost 30 minutes before anyone else. When we got there all the stingrays came swimming into the enclosure, what a site. We got into the water, held them, they swam around and into us.

We fed them by hand. I've fed them in Curacao with a scuba tank on but this was just as fun if not more because they seemed to interact with you more instead of just trying to steal your fish.

Loved it and would do it over and over again.

This is an amazing experience. Wish it was a little longer though. The guides were fantastic and you had no shortage of stingrays to touch. Great time.

We've just returned from a wonderful holiday in Antigua and we hd a great trip out at Stingray City. We went on a Sunday, which was a fairly quiet day, which made the experience all the better.

The cost of $50 US dollars isn't bad and you're certainly paying for the experience of swimming with these beautiful (if not a little scary) creatures, rather than an action packed day.

Upon arrival you get a short introduction to the excursion and are told a bit of information about the Stingrays: that they're not the same type that killed Steve Irwin; that you've got to do the 'Stingray Shuffle' under the water to make sure you don't step on them; and how to feed them if you want to. You're then taken to some swift but sturdy speed boats that take you to the Stingray City in about 15 minutes. As soon as the boat arrived, Stingrays began to descend on the area - they obviously knew there was some food up for grabs.

It can be a little scary at first with such huge creatures flapping against you as they pass you, and they do come from all angles, but when you get used to it it's fantastic. There's an opportunity to have your photo taken with a stingray and also feed them. There's plenty of time to do a bit of snorkelling around the reef too, which the stingrays or other areas (we saw a variety of reef fish, including a barracuda), The staff were really great and clearly enjoyed their jobs - who wouldn't??? A quick journey back to the dock and some complimentary rum punch or fruit punch and an opportunity to buy photos if you want them.

All in all, a great experience and definitely worth the money.

Swimming with stingrays I was really apprehensive about, but I was talked into it. They give satisfactory instructions that are clear and easy to understand, it's easy to take your time with things.

The rays are huge but soft and friendly. Great for a few snaps and an experience you won't forget.
