We were last at Jumby three years ago. We thought it was paradise then. It is now even better. food, drink, pools, spa, staff, accommodation, views all still outstanding.

What has now improved are the water sports and the Kids Club. This time we all enjoyed hugely the banana boat, the canoes, snorkelling and the sailing. Our granddaughter (aged 5) was delighted by the Kids Club. It is incredibly well run by real professionals. They cater for quite tiny ones to older children. They take the children on trips around the island in the launch, they visit the sites on the island including the sugar tower. They use the estate house kitchen for baking activities. And more low key activities like painting. The staff are supremely flexible and welcome parents/carers who wish to stay. What more could one ask?

Room Tip: All wonderful.

We spent 6 most incredible days at Jumby Bay for our honeymoon - and couldn't have asked for a more amazing place! Everything is 5 stars - from the minute you step off the plane to the (very sad) moment when you have to leave.

Our pool suite was wonderful - large, full of light, clean, our own pool, short walk to the beach. Very quiet - we never even knew if there were people in suites next to us. Room service was excellent - we set up a specific time we wanted our time cleaned every day.

The beaches are incredible! Perfect soft white sand, clear water, palm trees - perfect paradise! Jumby Bay beach has wonderful bar service - we had a drink in our hand whenever we wanted one (the Rum Runners are delicious!). We even had lunch delivered to the beach one day from the Pool Grille. Occasionally someone would walk through the beach, with a plate of sweet treats or a tray of frappucinos and offer to everyone on the beach. Amazing.

Dining was great! Being there for 6 days - we ate at every restaurant multiple times. Our only wish would be for maybe 1 more dining option at the resort - just to offer more variety, especially for dinner, since only the Verandah and the Estate House are open in the evenings. But the restaurants they do have - food is excellent, everything is fresh and delicious!

We were a little confused about tips in the beginning - do we tip after each meal/service? Finally I asked the concierge and they explained you can just tip out at the end of your stay. So our wallets stayed in the room safe for the remainder of our vacation - so easy!

My new husband wanted to surprise me with a romantic dinner on the beach, but honestly - even the regular dinners at the Verandah - they all felt very private and romantic! You're literally on the beach, and with how few guests there are at the resort - you feel like it's just you in the whole restaurant!

We loved our honeymoon - it was absolutely perfect and amazing! And we can't wait to book our next trip there!!

Room Tip: We were in Pool Suite 19 and thought it was perfect! I don't know if I'd like suites closer...

Just returned from 4 days on Jumby Bay - our second stay there. This made us "family," and "family" is how we were treated, in the best sense of the word! The staff at Jumby are warm and accommodating, and you really feel it comes from the heart. Our villa was beautiful, spacious, and had a private pool and ocean view. Jumby is a gorgeous piece of heaven with the softest powdery sand, and clearest, turquoise water. Rich with wildlife - gigantic starfish, prehistoric pelicans, quirky sheep - at least one of the island's beaches is a hawksbill sea turtle nesting colony and home to the Jumby Bay Hawksbill Project. (Not surprising, mama turtles choose Jumby too!) Guests can put themselves on a list to receive a call when resident researchers spot a female emerging from the sea, and they will be whisked over by golf cart to witness this most miraculous event. On each of our visits to Jumby we were lucky enough to observe a nesting sea turtle. An incredible experience! Jumby's a very special place indeed.

This is an exclusive privately owned resord and it shows. The experience begins at the airport being mey by a friendly representative before being whisked off by private car to the ferry port then a 7 minute journey across to the island.
The warmth of the greeting was amazing and all very personal. We were spoiled by having rented one of the privately owned homes which came with chef, butler, gardener etc so the experience was truly amazing. The resort itself is beuatiful and the island a little paradise. As well as using the house facilities we could use the bars and rstaurants run and managed by Rosewood which were of an exmplary standard.
A truly fantastic place to rest and relax, and need not be too pricey if you go for the villas which come as an all inclusive package. If however you want to indulge yourself and go top end the prices escalate.
Very difficult to leave.

The welcome: An exuberant, smiling staff member greeted us with open arms and offered us icy cold, aromatic towels. We were led to the open air reception area where Elaine proudly offered up a dark rum and passion fruit punch which was potent and delicious. Check-in was swift and seamless and within moments we were whisked away to our room in a golf cart already feeling island time inching its way in.

The room: The courtyard suite was very spacious and loaded with amenities. Snacks, wine, beer, soda, fruit juices and chocolate bars were offered as well as champagne on ice. Sunsets were glorious from our patio which overlooked the ocean and the island of Antigua. Soaking in the outdoor tub under the stars and showering in an outdoor garden was calming and refreshing.

Eats: Favorites included banana french toast, locally made yogurt, calamari, wasabi prawns, cold avocado soup, lamb T-bone, hotpot and White Night lobster and ribs. Oh...and all of the chocolate deserts. The restaurant venues were romantic and the service was excellent.

Fun: Cycling around the picturesque island, sitting in a field with the local sheep, kayaking, being dragged at top speeds through the waves on a tube and feeling like a kid again, snorkeling at Bird Island and hanging with Genny at the beach bar.

A Memorable moment: At 10PM one evening we were settling in for the night when we got "the turtle call". We scrambled for shorts and a T-shirt and hopped in an awaiting golf cart for a ride to Pasture Bay beach. We had signed up earlier in the week to be called should the rare Hawksbill turtle make her way to shore to lay eggs. For two hours we witnessed this beautiful sea creature prepare her nest in the sand, go into a trance and lay her eggs then make her way back into the ocean. The moment was surreal as many guests gathered together on the beach that evening and shared this unique experience under the stars.

Favorite Day: The picnic lunch at Pasture Bay beach was superb. After lounging on the nearly deserted beach for a few hours a staff member delivered our lunch and a bottle of champagne in a wicker picnic basket. Our linen white tablecloth covered table was setup under our palapa, the staff member poured us a glass of champagne and set up our appetizers and then quickly disappeared. We enjoyed cold avocado soup, tomatoes and mozzarella. BLT wraps, fries and a fruit and cheese plate. The setting could not have been more perfect.

Least favorite day: The day of departure was painful as we walked down the pristine beach towards the ferry dock. Leaving this breathtaking island and resort with it's warm and friendly people was difficult. Knowing that lazy days spent on the beach sipping rum punch, watching the sunset from the zero edge pool, being wined and dined like rock stars and being pampered in every way was about to end, we cried.

Jumby Bay is highly recommended and we will return to this paradise found. This was hands down the best resort we have been to in the caribbean.

We stayed here for a week in June in a pool suite and hated to leave. Anything that you can think of wanting is provided. From stocking your room with beverages and snacks of your choosing every day to something that might not be on the menu.

For an all inclusive the food was wonderful! Perfect size portions (like French cuisine style) and such a gourmet variety. I must have tried every fish, marlin, grouper stew, wahoo and my husband dined on rack of lamb, pork medallions, veal shank.

Melissa at the Estate House was probably the best waitress I have experienced. She knew everything about anything on the menu, extremely knowledgeable and such a friendly person. A lot of reviews mention white night, which was fun but I think the taste of Antigua was better on Wednesday just because the unique dishes served.

The beach was great and loved that the watersports are included, loved paddle boarding for the first time! And seriously spoiled with mini cream sandwiches and cold frappucinos served during the day.

Used the bikes every morning for about a 2 hour ride around the island and made sure to fill the bike's basket with bottles of water because some of the hills can really make you sweat.

Now just to be nit picky...the picture of the Veranda pool should be removed from the website (not that you should be at the pool since the beach is great) but in actuality that pool was filthy as were the lounge chairs and there weren't any cabanas. Also the pictures of the putting green and crochet lawn look nothing like reality. Just a couple of rusty putters and a few balls leaning against a tree.

That being said....those are minor things. Wonderful experience, service above and beyond...would definitely go back!

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

We appreciate your suggestion to update the Verandah Pool image on our website. We recently removed the cabana's so that our guests could enjoy the tropical gardens surrounding the pool. We hope to update the images soon. The pool and the surrounding lounge areas are cleaned each morning and maintained throughout the day. We apologize you did not find the Verandah Pool area in peak condition. With regard to croquet equipment, we provide mallets, hoops and balls for guest use. The equipment is available, upon request, at the Front Desk.

Tropical Regards,
Resort Management

From the second you step through customs to the sad moment you leave the island - everything is pure perfection. Smiling staff at every corner there to look after your every need. I was truly astounded by how genuinely happy all the staff were. The rooms are perfectly appointed and everything has been thought of. Genny who runs the beach bar is a legend!!! Life is that much better after having been to Jumby Bay.

Room Tip: The Rosewood Pool Villa is a must, just a few meters from the beach and your own private pool!!!!!!
