We have just come back and can say that it was one of the best holidays we have had, we had a very relaxing stay. The food was excellent the staff very helpful an accommodating, the owners Fred and Ginger oversaw everything, there was next to no entertainment which was great so you had to use the art of conversation. We went to Deep Bay with a local tour company but the climb up to Fort Barrington which overlooks the bay is a bit treacherous but worth it . All in all a fantastic time and met lots of new friends.

We stayed at the Coconut Beach from 10th – 24th June. It was a truly relaxing experience. This hotel is 3* but the wow factor is being able to step out of your room and walk straight onto the beach and into the ocean. What a view from your Patio Doors. We had a Junior Suite and it was lovely to have a large spacious room, although admittedly we hardly spent any time in it. The hotel is very laid back. A special mention should go to Clifton; Cotton; Jahilda and Bernadette they work very hard to make your stay memorable.
Our views on the restaurant are as follows:
Breakfast – there was a choice of cooked English breakfast – Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage and Beans, Continental Breakfast choices – Croissants, muffins, bagels, cold meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and fruit juices and cereals. At times the breakfast could be a bit boring the bacon was rather over cooked. You could request different choice of egg by asking Bernadette.
Lunch – there were several choices at lunchtime; Soup every day; choice of salads; vegetarian choice; rice or pasta, and usually 2 hot main courses. Dessert was also on offer. Lunch was usually really very good.
Dinner – On our first week the meals were excellent, a la carte waiter service, always beautifully presented I would have preferred more choice of vegetables served with the main course. The second week the evening meals were not as good as the first week but that was due to the fact that the chef was on vacation, they were acceptable and good but not as good as the first week.
The rooms were kept spotlessly clean every day; although sometimes we had to wait for replacement towels.
There was a steel band on a Sunday night (bbq night) and a Caribbean buffet night on Thursdays. People tended to gather round the bar or sit at tables and mix with people – it was like relaxing after an enjoyable dinner party. We met lots of nice people and it was very friendly. It is an ideal hotel if you don’t want to go to a larger place, we would recommend this small friendly informal hotel.
We went out there tired and stressed and came back totally relaxed and recharged. It was a lovely holiday, a beautiful bay and a beautiful location. I hope anyone going out there enjoys the atmosphere as much as we did.

Very lovely place for a chilled out holiday.. the staff were all eager to please you, Especially the resturant manager Cliffton, all smiles and a charming man. Every thing was so laid back after my busy work load at home it really makes you want more quality time once you have stayed somewhere like this, Had rain some days quite alot but it was still in the 80's every day. A very relaxed and chilled out time had by both of us. Thankyou for making it a memerable holiday.

Just back from a truly beautiful holiday, a birthday treat to remember forever .
Ok, lets get the bad bits out of the way first ( this bit is very short )
Mosquitoes and sandflies !
my partner and myself went with the attitude of "forewarned is forearmed" we took Expedition 100+ mossie spray ( worked a treat ) , in room socket gadget as well as wrist and leg bands , Citronella drops by windows is good as well .
sand flies are small mossies that don't sleep, so wear your spray and bands all the time ( mix it with your sun cream ) this meant a virtually a bite free holiday .
If I were to be picky , we thought mosquito nets would be a good idea in the french doors as well as far more citronella candles around the complex , especially around the restaraunt and bar area as well as each room having one on their varanda's.
Now the plus parts ( to many to remember , so just a few )
The staff are amazing , courteous, friendly , efficient and always smiling, I cannot praise them enough.
The manager is a real gentleman, considerate , attentive and charming . He told us the pool would be finished this year , meaning a raised decking area all around with loungers , this will make a huge difference and give the whole place a quality look .
The food is superb, fresh varied and very healthy I would really like a Coconut Beach Club recipe book ( please )
The rooms are airy and comfortable , they are basic and the bathroom could do with a referb, however it all works and the shower is very adequate , they are cleaned very profficiently every day clean towells etc all and more you would expect from a 3*hotel.
Friends we made at CBC went and looked around the 5* hotel next door and although were impressed with the facilities and amenities they came back completely happy with where they had chosen , the view from the room ( awsome ) the access to the beach and bar , restaurant etc could not be beaten .
We were very lucky with the weather, it does rain from time to time and can be cloudy but not enough to affect or disrupt your holiday , it just keeps it interesting . ( you will come back tanned )
If you want to recharge your batteries, re-generate your mind and body , relax like you have never relaxed, rest like you have never rested then CBC is for you .
If you want water sports, excitement , entertainment and exhilaration then it's not for you .
If like me you are blown away by the beauty of nature you will pinch yourself everytime you see a hummingbird ( truly beautiful ) I wish I had taken a good camera . all the birds are amazing , eating sugar from your hands , coming into your room to steal packs of sugar ( you need to see it to believe it ) the ever present lizards are always a treat but for me the vision I hold and always will is the Pelicans skimming the water so gracious and just mesmerising , diving and fishing I could and often did just watch them for hours .
The trees and plant life are also stunning and very varied .
I never saw a tree frog ......... However ........ once it's dark the music begins , what a noise ! it's deafening yet strangely relaxing and after a while you hardly notice it , just all part of the caribbean experience .
We shared taxi rides into town , it's not mean just sensible . We also hired a car with two other couples again financial good sense and also a real fun day with brilliant new friends .
There is not really anything I can say or do other than praise CBC for a trully memorable holiday, we will be going back . My partner will add her own review as I know I have missed so many good points .
I will finish by saying "sometimes less is more " a one word review would be "simplicity" the simplicity of CBC makes its truly beautiful.

Flew in on Christmas Eve for a week of glorious sun, white sands, blue sea and peace............and got rain, seaweed, rough sea and bitten to death! Maybe we were unlucky with the weather but I wish I had known more about those pesky flies! Just don't travel without an abundance of repellent - the only guy I saw without bites had used a cheap one from Boots containing Deet. But I can't blame any of that on the Coconut Beach Club which is in a beautiful setting, although could do with a bit of TLC and some money spent on it. I think the pool had only recently been replaced or moved as the ground around it looked like it wasn't finished although no-one was working on it! Three star is probably just about the right rating as the rooms aren't anything special and not the cleanest although they are a good size and air-conditioned. Getting the light fixed in the bathroom took about 5 requests but it was eventually done. The best things here are the evening meals which are really good, the outside bar which offers pretty decent drinks and is cosy enough to chat and have a laugh with other guest and of course the staff who really are lovely. Just make sure that if you want a last drink they haven't shut the bar without telling you! We took a taxi ride into St John's and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the town and visiting cruise ships but watch where you walk as the pavements are pretty dangerous. A trip to English Harbour to hear the beat of the drums and see the views is worthwhile but the cost of getting there from the hotel doesn't include the entrance fee so ask how much it is before going so that you aren't surprised when you arrive. Overall I don't think the Caribbean is for me but if you want a peaceful setting for a reasonable cost then you'd be OK with the Coconut Beach Club.

Room Tip: Rough sea - go for an upstairs room

Well, I can't say much more than what has already been written but the hotel is excellent if you want no noise, no load music, no activities and no children. Even when it rains there is nothing to do there, and it did rain every day of our 2 week holiday ! Although some showers were short a few a longer and it rained alot in the night. Due to this fact it flooded alot behind the new pool, and the nature reserve over the back of the hotel we were all bitten to death both day and night. The flies on the beach drove you mad whilst laying out but we found citronella kept them off of you a bit. The hotel did try to fog 2 or 3 times a week but to be honest it didn't make much difference. If you are going then take loads of mosquito repellent.
Beach is lovely and the sand went all the way into the sea with no stones or rocks or weed. If it does wash up a bit of weed then the grounds men rake it up. Snorkelling equipment including fins can be borrowed by asking at the reception for them and also 2 canoes. Sailing boat still not useable but you can ask to go to the sister hotel and use theirs.
Food is good, buffet breakfast and lunch with waiter service and 3 choices in the evening. I must admit presentation on the evening meals was excellent (and it tasted good!). There is no air conditioning anywhere in the hotel except in your room so at lunch and dinner it was very hot and sticky and there are no walls, all open air.
Went for a trip into St.Johns but the taxi fare was very expensive and you need a minimum of 4 people to go, and it's only a 10 mins. ride. No buses anywhere near and no where to walk to either. Quite remote.
Most of the staff were excellent, especially Jahinda, Cotton, Bernadette and Clifton.
There was one who gave you the impression you were a pain by asking for a drink at the bar etc. but most were fine. There is a lady who makes her own jewellery who sits at the top of the steps from the beach and her name is Gwen. Just let her know what you would like and she will make it up for you.
Two mornings we had a herd of cows coming down the beach and through the hotel but they were moved into the field behind but it was an interesting sight !
Didn't do any trips as we found they were very expensive but the people who did said they were good.
Buy a bottle of water at reception for $2 and when that is empty ask the bar staff to refill it for you to take back to your room.

I would certainly go back there mainly for the peace and quiet.

Room Tip: All rooms are very near the pool etc.
