You will have the most amazing time of relaxation and wonderful service at this hotel.

The rooms were large, clean and the air conditioning worked well.

The food is the best my fiance and i have experienced at a hotel previously. The homemade soups served at lunch and dinner are wonderful and everything is served with care and heaps of flavour. And not a chip in sight! The chef informed me he had trained under French, Italian and British chefs and there was something new every evening and lunchtime all served to your table in the evenings. The fish dishes were incredible.

The staff were fabulous; Renee, D'andra, Sleepy, Cotton, Tanza, Brent, Samantha, Shenese - they are a credit to the establishment.

And I have to mention Frenchie, the guy that comes to the hotel most mornings and sells trips. He chatted to us for ages, and is such a wonderful gentleman. He organised a trip on the catamaran for us and it was amazing. It went round the whole island, moored up for some snorkelling at a deserted beach, served lunch, some seriously strong rum punch and beer and the whole boat was partying on the way back. His brother, Denzil, captains the boat and he made every effort to ensure you enjoyed your trip.

The beach is beautiful and calm; no fighting for sunbeds as only around 5-10 people on the whole quarter mile beach. There is a lovely beach also nearby if you fancy a change; no one was on there the whole time we were on it. Don't take a trip through the deserted hotel next door; seriously creepy as no guests, only staff and everyone who went there felt intimidated. You can reach the beach by this hotel by an alternate route so you don't have to venture through its doors. Beach is well worth a visit.

For a week of total relaxation I don't think you could beat this hotel for value for money and service.

A very belated review from our holiday in February.
The wow factor of this resort is the staff. They just couldn't do enough for us. My husband is vegan and we had liaised with the resort beforehand to ensure there would be food he could eat. On a couple of occasions over the two weeks, there wasn't anything suitable for dinner, but they immediately made up something special for him. Overall, the food was delicious. We found the drinks to be fine.
The service was very friendly and relaxed. All the staff seemed happy and had been there for a long time. They remembered all the return guests.
Yes, the resort could do with some updating, but we found it clean at all times. We didn't have any issues with mosquitos in our room and although they could be annoying at night, we didn't get bitten once. More annoying was the guests using the electric tennis bats to kill them in the restaurant, nicely batting dead mosquitos onto other peoples tables.
Would love to return.

We went here to renew our wedding vows last year. The hotel is amazing. Very small and intimate. Perfect for couples. The Staff were amazing. They did everything for us and made our day so special and perfect. The meal they arranged on the beach for us was just perfect. If you want a total chill and be soiled rotten then this is the place to go. See you January 2015!

A brilliant place to stay, friendly staff, spacious rooms, a nice hotel manager & great location. We stayed here, made lots of friends (quite intimate bar/pool area) staff and customers alike, a great location if you want to explore the island by bus, only 10 min bus ride from st johns.
Recommended!

Room Tip: choose a ground floor room, they are much nicer and give you acess straight out to the beach.

Just back from my holiday, first time to the Caribbean but hopefully not my last......& if I do ever return to Antigua, I would have no hesitation in staying in the Coconut Beach Club Resort.
Location is incredible, straight from your room onto a stunning beach. The rooms are in need of a little updating & we did have an issue with the sink tap, it was fixed immediately but towards the end of our stay it was starting to play up again. Cleanliness in the room & around the hotel was fantastic. The food was beautiful, plenty of choices & cooked to a very high standard. Drinks were great too wines with dinner & plenty of cocktails that were made to perfection. We were given good advice from Frenchie who is at the resort everyday to tell us about days out & I would recommend a trip on the catamaran with Denzil & all his crew. Lastly the staff at the hotel they were wonderful so polite & accommodating, nothing seemed too much trouble. All in all a fantastic holiday

A fantastic place to relax, soak up the sun and chill. The clean white sands of the beach literally on the doorstep never gets crowded and there were always sufficient sunbeds for all. The food was of a very high standard with the 3 course evening dinners of an exceptional quality. Swimming off the beach was very safe and the water is NOT cold like Europe. The staff were excellent and very friendly. It was interesting to speak to a number of people who have visited the Club on a number of occasions but having been there I can understand why. It is a wonderful experience to wake up each morning and look out beyond the palms to the wonderful blue Caribbean Sea about 40 yards away. My wife and I did go on a "safari" around the island that was very informative and enjoyable. This safari included visits to the Sir Viv Richards cricket ground, a former sugar plantation, Shirley Heights and the dockyard. The only slight negative was that the accommodation was a little basic but it had good air conditioning, was cleaned to a very high standard every day and as was pointed out Antigua is not somewhere that you want to spend much time indoors. For people who want a more adventurous holiday this is probably not one of the better locations on the island to stay at but there are a variety of trips available to those who might want to balance their holiday between rest and relaxation and some action. We enjoyed ourselves very much and recommend the location to other couples who might want to visit Antigua.

Just returned from our first visit to the Caribbean and Coconut Beach Resort in Antigua.

Some excellent accurate and informative TripAdvisor reviews set our expectations before arriving although in many areas Coconut Beach exceeds.

The location could hardly be better set on its own white sandy beach and warm turquoise sea it practically exudes paradise island!

The hotel bedroom accommodation in the style of a traditional plantation style house sits literally on the beach all with fantastic views of that beach and inviting sea.

Eating and drinking is provided under separate open air decking rooms past the infinity swimming pool and relaxed environment. Long trousers and collared shirts (for men at least!) means that it is good making an effort to dress up a bit for dinner whilst not feeling too 'stuffy' and oppressive.

Breakfast and lunch are comprehensive buffet service arrangements while dinner is waiter/waitress served by willing and polite staff and is more A la carte and higher standard fayre. Some may like bigger portions but after a long hard day sunbathing, reading and swimming and the delights of all inclusive some restraint is called for and some excellent options provided at Dinner clearly demonstrated the obvious skill of the chef.

There are opportunities to get out and see the island, if you can bear to leave the beach. Just as an alternative to reading, swimming and eating we tried the circumnavigation of the island trip by catamaran arriving and delivering you to and from the beach (this impressed the American cruise ship visitors and us very much as it looks quite cool!!) and overland Pelican Tour of the sights.

The only slight detracting feature is the overall feel and quality, fixtures, fittings and plumbing reliability (only on the odd occasion) which compare to some of the more basic Greece apartments standards, but everything works rooms are cleaned fastidiously every day and you only really sleep and dress and where the air conditioning and
overhead fan are a welcome relief to the warm climate outside. Yes there are some mosquitoes which are controlled by periodic 'fogging' (which is a sight to behold by the way) but try not to wear perfume/aftershave and take appropriate precautions you would be the same risk as anywhere else warm!!

In summary, go and enjoy go and relax and you will not be disappointed with your choice of Coconut Beach Resort Antigua. It is good value and a lovely place.
