Beautiful small quiet hotel with private beach which suited us perfectly.
Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and a lot of fun. Smiley happy people and made our stay one to remember.
Definitely go back one day when life calms down.
we traveled in 2010

Room Tip: They're all good but we preferred being on the ground floor instead of the 1st floor.

This is a relaxing resort that caters to grown-ups looking for a peaceful retreat from a busy world. The decor had been updated recently. The room was actually a mini-apartment with a balcony. The all-inclusive meal plan made the trip restful. The beach and infinity pool were so close we could swim before breakfast and after supper. (though you should bring bug spray for the twilight sand flies.) Our taximan (not affiliated with this hotel) Black.i taxi service (nomt1@live.com) picked us up at the ferry dock, holding a sign, and took us directly to the Beach Club. He adapted to our schedule the week we were in Antigua so we decided not to rent a car, after all. Between the Coconut Beach Club and the flexible taxi service, this was one of the most restful vacations ever!

Room Tip: I'm not sure there are any bad rooms - they all seem to face the beach.

Great location and friendliest staff. Room (delux) good size and kept very clean. Beach is amazing. See Frenchie for trips. Round island on Excellence is a great day out. Beware of rum punch. You have been warned. Dundee 4x4 is good. Barbuda a must.

Breakfast buffet good choice and good food. Lunch buffet ok. Dinner either a la carte or buffet not so good. Chef has more ambition than talent. My wife got sick along with three others we know of same night same dish (sea trout).

That is the only downside to this beautiful little resort.

Not every day do you see a mongoose on the way to breakfast. Lovely gardens.

Despite one negative I would return.

Husband and I spent 2 lovely weeks June/July 14 at this small (38 room) hotel and couldn't fault it.
The rooms and hotel are rustic, which we expected, so we were not disappointed.
Rooms are cleaned daily and towels/beach towels are also swapped daily.
The food was plentiful; breakfast consisted of an egg cook, although scrambled eggs were provided at service every day as were pancakes, potatoes, bacon, sausage, fruit, bread, croissants, meats and cheeses, fruit juice, coffee tea etc.
Lunch, again, buffet style and was varied. Afternoon tea around 4ish consisted of sandwiches and pots of tea and coffee (we were always too full from lunch however) Evening meals were mostly fine dining with 4 courses, there was an extra pasta course which you are informed about at the start of dining.
Staff are very friendly and natural, one day we picked mangoes and these were incorporated into a lovely rum drink made for us by the bar staff, the bar is open 10am-11.00pm.
Take plenty of bug sprays and plug ins - although the hotel fogs every 2-3 days, be very prepared. Irritating, but not bad enough to spoil holiday.
Altogether a fantastic holiday.

Room Tip: Top floor excellent to avoid bugs and has great views. Ground floor ideal for straight onto the beac...

Quiet, is the lasting impression. Relax and do nothing if you wish or go out and enjoy the rest of the island and know that you have a very nice bolt hole if things get too stressful ;)...
Hotel is situated at the end of a long drive off the beaten track and is set in carefully tended gardens. Coconut palms, mangroves and banana plants shield the hotel from the onshore wind and the sea is literally on the doorstep of the ground floor rooms.
Everything is cleaned on a daily basis. The food could be more adventurous, but there is local produce and the is often an Antiguan slant on the dishes.
The look and feel is of an estate house with bar and dining facilities and guest lodges. Just what eel were looking for.

My wife & I spent the day at this place while cruising in Antigua. The cost was 50pp which was very reasonable for what you got. They provided unlimited drinks and lunch. They have a infinity pool and chase loungers. The beach is very nice with little huts to shade you. The palce is well kept. They do offer weekly rentals. It is about a 15 - 20 minute cab ride from the pier at $16.

First of all, my husband & I are not complainers. We recently returned from a stay at Coconut Beach Club & it was nice. The room was cleaned daily, we never even saw housekeeping. We were given plenty of towels. So what if the room is a little dated? We never once sat on any chairs anyway. I read plenty of reviews on here about the breakfast getting boring. We had breakfast each day we were there & found it to be good. Everything from eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fried potatoes, cereals, meats, fruits, breads, & plenty of drink. What more could you ask for at breakfast, this was probably the best part of the meals to us. This is not an American way of eating resort. They do tend to cater more to another type of guest. My husband & I don't really care how pretty the food looks on the plate, just that it is good. We ate dinner our first night there & 1 lunch on the all inclusive plan. It wasn't our kind of food...so we chose to venture off & find good food. We ate at the Crows Nest & it was reasonably priced & pretty good. They make real good pina coladas there. We ate at SHELL's fish/chips a couple of times. The fish is awesome! This is the place with the double Decker bus, can't miss it. The owners are wonderful people to visit with. We sat outside having drinks & nice dinner with great company. Like I said we liked it so much, we went again! Other places we had tried just OK. The Coconut Club is good place to go for chillaxing. The beach water was a bit rough, but we found plenty of nice beaches we spent our days at. No beach we went to was ever crowded. We rented a car for our entire trip & we got "lost" each day. The water tends to be a bit cooler than other islands we have been to, but still some of the most beautiful beaches. Go to this resort & make your own memories.
