Had a very nice stay and the food was,as usual, excellent!Lovely new pool area and dining room.We stay there each time we pass through Antigua to uor home in Nevis and thoroughly enjoy it!
Only one small problem....we booked a specific room 6 months before to ensure we had it and on arrival were told it was not available and were given a "lesser"room.
Still love the place nad the staff!

There is a lot to recommend the CBC and I'd certainly go again. Wife and I plus teenage daughter had a glorious 2 week stay.

The accommodation was spacious and clean if a little tired. Large comfy beds, air-con that really worked and plenty of wardrobe space plus coffee/tea making facilities and a handy fridge. We particularly loved sitting in the hammock on our veranda and watching the waves lap the beach. The room cleaning was fast and effective tidying up after our messy daughter leaving the rooms spotless.

The beach itself was very clean and very quiet. At times we had it totally to ourselves and swimming was a joy though not many fish (the next beach to the west, a 10min walk max, was better for that).

The meals ranged from good to excellent. A 2-week rotating menu meant we didnt have the same menu twice. At breakfast they cooked excellent omlettes/eggs to order and I enjoyed chatting to the cook as she prepared my meal; sadly I forgot her name but v.friendly. Lunches were simply buffets (cold and hot dishes) and we loved the fish dishes and yes they served curry one lunchtime and it was brilliant. Dinner was in the main dinning room and the food and service was excellent with enough choice on the menu. There wasnt much choice off-menu but I did have the Lobster one night and can highly recommend it. The house wine was surprising good, both red and white.

After dinner we all sat around the bar and chatted. Cotton served wicked cocktails and Jahilda was a mine of information about where to go during carnival etc.

Most people staying there came with Virgin and a rep did come round. We however travelled with BA and booked direct with CBC and it seemed that we got the same deals/service (in one case considerable better!). We used the front desk to sort out our excursions, taxis and they also provided a day room for our departure etc. The little shop was a tad expensive but v.handy for all the essentials.

The downside of CBC, well it's not 5-start and it does need an update here and there, the tennis courts need to be weeded and you have to watch out for the mossies as you do everywhere in Antigua and the internet room was v.small and too hot but non of those negatives really detracted enough from it's charm.

In summary the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the food, a beautiful and peaceful location with comfortable but simple accommodation makes this place a gem.

Hi well we have been here twice now and we thought the first time was just fantastic but it's was even better the second time.
My wife and I came for our 30th wedding anniversary 3yrs ago and we came back again and the place is just great.
The rooms are very clean the food is 1st class, and the staff just made your stay there as if you were at home and nothing was to much trouble.
From the manager to the gardener they were so friendly smiling and very helpful.
Jillhilda and bernadette where like mother and sister to me and we keep in contact with them too!.
If you want to have a holiday of total relaxation then this is the place for you and the added bonus of no kids too.
We are planning our return and have told the manager not to change anything in the hotel.

The coconut beach club is a true little gem. It is clearly a mid range, small intimate property. With so few rooms, the menu options are slightly limited but the standard of food was the same you would get in Caribbean 4-stars. For me, the best part of the holiday were the sea view rooms and a lovely white sand beach; rooms with wooden verandah and hammock - very romantic. Very compact with a nice pool with wooden decking and near by bar, it has everything you need for a quiet relaxing holiday.

Unfortunately Coconut Beach Club is very run down, thankfully it is having a much needed refurb, my wife and myself were very disappointed, we had paid quite alot of money to stay at this resort and we didnt get what we were expecting, we wanted a nice quiet break from our hectic lives, we hate all the large fake complex`s. Having seen the other negative reviews, sadly we can only agree. Although the resort is quiet unless, like we had a neighbouring resorts music blaring out until early hours in the morning. The only thing in the resorts favour is the location, it is stunning!!!!
Other reviews have described the resort as rustic. "Rust" is the ultimate word, if holes in the roof and everything being pretty much broken or old and dirty as rustic then so be it. It has got lush vegetation but when everything that falls out of it is not cleared up, or just swept and left to rot in a corner next to your room it becomes a mess. Not that we went in the pool, we are beach lovers and as I said the beach is beautiful, but the pool was dirty and had alot broken decking around it. All sunbeds were dirty. The food was very well presented at dinner, but had little taste and was of a very poor quality.

Apart from the location, All in all the resort is certainly not a gem, unless your wearing beer goggles. Unfortunately it is nowhere near value for money or friendly, unless you are a guest with no class that likes and is part of the all day and night free "Private Parties" in the bar. Having never been to the Costa`s or likely to, why pay for a "Gem" when all you get is "Paste".

We stayed at CBC for 2 weeks in June 2010, our 4th visit in 5 years, the greeting we got as repeat guests was lovely, they gave us a choice of room, any room which made us feel very special, we were made to feel so welcome. Reading some of the poor reviews makes us feel sad because all of the staff make such a great effort to make your stay perfect, perhaps those guests who do not like the rustic appeal of CBC are used to the Costas and should stay away from this little gem of the Caribbean. The bar scene every evening is like a private party and we have made many friends as a result of the great atmosphere created by like minded guests. The beach is stunning and its easy to imagine that you are on a deserted desert island with crystal clear calm water to cool off in. We travel to the Caribbean and USA 2 or 3 times a year and are returning to CBC June 2011, in fact the hotel is closing from August until October 2010 for a re-furb so it will be even more special. CBC dont go changing and moaners stay away !
