Myself and fiancee visited a friend who was staying at this hotel and spent the day there. The grounds are beautiful and make an immediate impression. We instantly wanted to stay there. The room was very spacious as was the balcony and had nice Caribbean style furniture. The bed was very comfortable and the room was perfectly clean. The only complaint was that the water pressure in the bathroom was insanely low and the shower only gave a trickle of water. I am led to believe this must have been an unusual circumstance and was perhaps due to bad weather at the time. The restaurant was a nice atmosphere however it is pricey and service was slow even for something as simple as a side of french fries. There is a small but sufficient pool. The property would be very nice for a small group, or people who want a relaxed vacation. The beach is a close drive/walk/shuttle away. We will be back to stay ourselves but will probably eat elsewhere that is more affordable.

The site is wonderful and high - truly a trade wind hotel. The amenities aren't the finest, e.g. a small pool. But if you want to tour the island and come back to a relaxing hotel with wonderful staff, this is it.

Another wonderful trip to Trade Winds. Stayed 6 nights for our annual summer holiday. (We have visited on numerous occasions over the last 12 years). Thanks to Marydith Gordon for all the hard work in our numerous date changes and special requests !

Firstly, the restaurant is wonderful - crisp white linen covered tables with outstanding food and great service (All of the ladies in the restaurant really care about customer service and attention to detail - this is not always the norm in the Caribbean.)

The pool area is nice - quiet and relaxing. This is an ideal place to escape - chill -relax - read books by the pool. So wonderful. This is not a hotel for those wishing to gorge themselves at an armband entry buffet with free drinks - Thankfully !!

The beach is a 5 min walk down the hill - the beach is superb with the Caveat that Sandals (since its expansion) seem to dominate - however there is plenty of space. Get a taxi back up cost $8 US or $20 EC. The Taxi rank is at the Sandals end of the beach next to the Antigua Village shop.

The hotel rooms are immaculate - the standard of cleaning is very high. However, the rooms are dated and in need of an upgrade - particularly the furniture.

So looking forward to returning in 2013

We had the junior suite which was very roomy and comfortable. Large bathroom, plenty of seating, refrigerator and patio with 2 chairs and a table. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food and service was very good. The hotel was very quiet in the rooms. Wifi was available in our rooms and in the bar and restaurant. Not a large area for parking may be the only downside to the location.

This is a smallish hotel with the rooms dotted around the property in a pleasantly random sort of way. The view from my room balcony was spectacular, and was the same from the bar and restaurant. The restaurant is superb, and obviously popular all day as I couldn't get a table for lunch, but was able to eat in the bar.
The bedroom was large, as was the bathroom and both were spotlessly clean.
It's not close to a beach but it does have a nice pool and sun bathing area.
My only complaint was the slog up the hill in the scorching heat from the taxi entrance gate to reception with my two very heavy suitcases, and no assistance.
The girls behind the reception desk are very helpful and stored my bags for a while before leaving.

Room Tip: I would not recommend this hotel for anyone with any sort of disability. There are steps up to each...

Friendly staff nice for a getaway. Could be enhanced for the business travel with a desk and reading lamp. Would stay here gain but if on hoilday and not on business travel as it is a bit far from everything and taxi fares seem high. Nice view from bedroom annex. The restaurant is tops, excellent breakfast nice variety. Needs a fitness centre given its distance.

Room Tip: The rooms in the 50's are nice if you don't mind a bedroom annex

This small hotel provides excellent rooms, a beautiful pool and terrace and the most amazing sea views. We stayed here for four nights and the staff were efficient, friendly and very helpful. The restaurant serves very high quality, tasty food and we particularly enjoyed watching the small birds tweeting and fluttering around the terrace, during breakfast. It,s a shame the hotel isn't closer to the beach, it's a long walk back up the hill in 90 degrees! Although the views and the sunsets were worth it.
