Can i firstly say that anyone who moans about Blue Waters obviously has nothing better to do or was asleep during their stay. Everything about Blue Waters was excellent. Yes it might be expensive but we felt it was worth every penny and will without doubt be returning. We had a delux beach front room which was absoulutely fine for us. The one thing that really stood out were the staff. Each and everyone of them was very friendly and helpful. Thanks to you all for making our holiday so relaxing and so much fun.

We stayed here in Feb 2012n for 8 nights - my boyfriend was off to do the RORC 600 sailing regatta and therefore I spent 4 days at this hotel alone with our 1.5 year old until he came back. The hotel has a lovely beach and 3 pools. We spent most our of time at the waterfront pool which seemed to be family oriented than the other two pools. The staff were lovely especially Pearl and Andre from the Palm restaurant. We were upgraded to full board and enjoyed all the restaurants. We preferred The Cove but we also often ate at the Palm with Jnr in tow.

The resort does seem to attract an "older crowd" but we did not feel out of place with the little one and most guests seemed to be British which suited us well.
Alistar the manager does a great job of managing the different guests demands which is not an easy task and any problems are quickly dealt with in a very professional manner.

I did venture out to drive to English Harbour a couple of times to drop off the other half as we rented a rental car. There isn't much out there other than I barely missed driving over a couple of people and stray dogs that ran at the car and the odd lose bull. Therefore driving in Antigua is not for the faint hearted. There is a large supermarket near the resort which I visited a couple of times for some snacks and things - the food selection was great and the prices were fair.

We got engaged down at the Gazeboo while staying here which is truly a lovely unique spot for weddings for special occasions.
All in all this is a great resort.
The only recommendations I would suggest is that it would be great if it had a kids playground/kids club area.
We will definitely be coming back again!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Cove Suites on a ground floor it was excellent as my baby could sleep inside in the afternoon and I could sit just outside by the pool and still hear him. The room is huge with a great bed and bathroom.

Thank you Blue Waters for a relaxing and beautiful vacation. The grounds and service was exceptional, and we really appreciated the room upgrade to the Cove Suites, as well as the assistance in arranging a custom taxi tour.

Just got back and traveled with my husband. Looking online, we sensed it would (a) offer the amenities of a huge resort without being a huge resort, (b) have a lot of guests from the UK, (c) be laid-back which fit what we were looking for……and we were right on all counts. We are in our 30s and American – and interestingly, the guest population seemed to be 99% from the UK, median age 55, and very few kids. Just interesting how homogeneous it was, not that it bothered us at all.

The bottom line is, if you’re looking for a beautiful, quiet, chill place to unwind, you love sunbathing by the pool/ocean with a rum punch in hand, you love the convenience of an all-inclusive….this place is for you.

Oh – and I could not believe this – but I think the entire time I was there I got 1 mosquito bite and mosquitoes LOVE me. Perhaps because it was windy – I don’t know. But that was a nice surprise, as I usually just accept this as a necessary evil of being in the Caribbean.

The spectacular:
* COVE SUITES. Not only are the rooms beautiful and spacious, and the ocean views to die for, but each villa has it’s own bar and staffed all day by your own private bartender, (what?!?) and each villa has its own private pool and outdoor space with loungers. And one morning we were there, a guy even came around with cold towels – something we expected to only be offered in the main pool area. Total luxury.

The not-so-spectacular:
* FOOD. I did not have high expectations and the food was good not great, as many reviewers say. The food did take a while to come out at times, also as people say. Was not impressed with Bartley’s, though a nice cozy atmosphere. Very impressed with The Cove’s incredible, romantic setting though disappointed we had to partially pay as there was a cap on what the all-inclusive bought us there. Yes, they encourage dinner reservations at each restaurant but it’s not a big deal…wasn’t hard to get a time we wanted.
* BEACH. The beach is not the best – small and some seaweed and somewhat rough waters when we were there….and chilly! So if this is your top priority, this might not be the right choice for you.

Tips:
Go all-inclusive if you can swing it – it’s just so much easier, esp. if you want to have drinks throughout. If you’re not a drinker though and not a big eater, you could probably just purchase the daily breakfast option and have a late/big breakfast (which is always a buffet) and then have a modest dinner at the Palm.

Do not miss Harmony Hall and the Sunday night Shirley Heights Lookout party. We arranged a custom 8-hour taxi tour on Sunday. Basically – we had a taxi driver at our disposal for the day, at a cost of $225. So so worth it – as the roads are crap, not well marked, windy and narrow, not to mention that you have to drive on the left. We had our driver stop by Betty’s Hope, Devil’s Bridge, Harmony Hall for a late lunch, and got to Shirley Heights by 5 in time to see the sunset. Harmony Hall was pricey but worth it for the amazing food, view, attached art gallery, and they even had a jazz band playing. Shirley Heights has a huge bar-b-que and bar to cater to the crowd, a jammin steel band followed by a live band – we just wish we’d had maybe another hour to hang out. There are tons of taxis there but it’ll cost you $90 one-way back to Blue Waters. Oh – Blue Waters actually offers a cheap shuttle bus there & back but you must do the round trip and its from 4-7:30 (and the band only comes on at 7, so…)

There is no ATM on site so bring some cash with you. American dollars are accepted everywhere.

Room Tip: we thought the rooms in the 100s would be good and booked that but got upgraded to the Cove Suites

Just got back from a much needed vacation at Blue Waters. Found it to be just what we were looking for: wonderful staff, beautiful accommodations, good food, and fabulous setting. We stayed in a Cove suite and found it to be impressive!! Would definitely go back.

Realy outdated rooms and too many people. I did not like this hotel at all. The service was slow and the staf was not friendly at all. You expeckt a lot more for what they are charging you. It was llike a stampeed to get breakfast and the barsservice was poor.Internett was bearly working and you had to book in the restaurante 24 hrs beforehand. Not worth what they wheere charging. The bussines center was not working.
