A very professional, well-run resort. Friendly and with a pleasant atmosphere. Food much better than expected. Be aware that live entertainment is offered every night from 8.30 until 11p.m. and can be very loud. Clearly some people like this sort of thing but it can make quiet conversation during and after dinner rather difficult short of shouting at one's friends. Provision of a quiet zone would be an asset. Perhaps re-open the infinity pool bar during those hours ? Otherwise,an exceptionally fine resort in all other respects.

Excellent location, food, beaches, pools etc. The service was always with a smile.
The bathroom coud do with an update, but this is not a deal breaker.
Our problem was one of noise; by day the hotel is peaceful, with the bounty of
seeing pelicans, hummingbirds etc., and by evening, hearing tree frogs.
From 8pm onward the hotel has loud music, some of which is commendable(steel bands,
jazz). Other groups, however, shatter the decibel scale with inescapable and ear
piercing singing. This nocturnal noise spoils the memory of the diurnal peace.
Otherwise the hotel is truly excellent, with fine dining everywhere (though Bartleys can be
stuffy in every sense). Lower the decibels and this place would be paradise.
The hotel staff are all helpful, and this was a good holiday by day but not always after
8pm when the bands struck-up! I would return, but for the music.

Sitting on the decking by the small beach waiting for the flight home and reflecting on another 12 days spent in paradise at Blue Waters. The service here is remarkable. When we arrived in our beachside room, I went to reception to ask for a bath slip mat and Ipod speakers. When I got back to the room both had been delivered and installed. The staff here are second to none and make you feel at home straight away. From Wendy in the shop to Carolyn at the pool bar , there is always a smile and greeting awaiting you.The manager Andy speaks to all guests as a matter of course and is the first to deal with any problem. The food was excellent (apart perhaps from the unattractive starters at dinner )and the breakfasts especially good. The beachside rooms are well appointed and kept meticulously clean. The gardens and beaches are breathtakingly beautiful. What is there not to like about Blue Waters? Absolutely nothing - we will be back again next year for sure and hope to catch up again with the friends we made this time. Give yourself a real treat and book here you will not be disappointed - it is paradise.

As many have said before me the hotel has on the whole some great staff and this makes up for a couple of its weaknesses. The grounds are immaculate as are the housekeeping standards but the bedrooms just need a bit of a spruce up. In particular the bathrooms. You travel the world staying in good hotels and find some great bathrooms nowadays and I don't just mean large, just well thought and with modern features. The pools are good but on occasion towels can be tricky to find especially at the adults only pool. Food is the main area we were a little disappointed by. Breakfast good, lunch OK ( however be warned if not AI the daily lunch price was $35 each on the first day which was a bbq and buffet. Ask for the ala carte menu that has lots of choice from $10) and so were the dinners but just not very exciting. The same slightly underdone vegetables came with every meal we ate at The Cove and whilst not wildly overcooked most fish and in particular prawns should have come off the heat a little earlier. We were not all inclusive as much of the hotel were so we did eat out probably half of time. There are some really good restaurants out and about so, Blue Waters, just get your chefs out there to see what else is going on in Antigua. Two of our favourites were Cecilia's Highpoint Cafe and Coconut Grove. In our mind Bartley's was the best of the hotels offerings but only open two nights a week so have to reserve in advance. We tried to book two days in advance to find no table available which was a shame. Thanks to Soldier at watersports for teaching me how to master the Hobie Cat and Pearl for those great cocktails. Would we return ? A tough one. So many places in the world ww would like to visit but we have really enjoyed the great weather and relatively short flight from England. Just a bit of extra investment would make this already very good hotel into a brilliant one.

Dear jamlucy,
Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review. We do appreciate all feedback from our guests particularly as this allows us to improve all aspects of our service. It is unfortunate that you thought our menu was disappointing but we are happy that you enjoyed everything else we had to offer. Our new Executive Chef along with the culinary team is currently examining and improving the menu offerings. A revised weekly dining calendar is also being introduced with new themes and restaurant opening schedules.
We have taken your comments as constructive and will continue to strive to improve our product and overall offering.
Personal regards,
Anderson Howard – General Manager

I travelled with my small son and stayed in one of the beach from rooms. I was 'upgraded' from the St James Club at the last minute by my holiday operator so was a bit anxious as on the website the choice for children seemed limited in terms of pools and restuarants but I needn't have worried. It was very comfortable and although the bathroom was a bit dated was fine. The best thing about the resort was the staff who really do make the place. On arrival, so many of them introduced themselves and then remembered my and my son's name and always asked if we were having a good time or needed anything.
The kids club provided different activities and didn't mind parents staying with their shy children. In the end, we always used the beach pool as it was the nearest to our room and the small beaches and Carolyn at the pool bar really did a great job looking after everyone.
Food was lovely, my only complaint was being able to dine with young children for dinner was difficult as they provided a basic children's option (nuggets, chips and pizza - everynight) at 6pm with the adults dinner from 6.30. A lot of children, my own included were falling asleep at the table by 6.45/ 7.00 which meant parents had to rush their meal or take it back to their room. What could work better is to finish the afternoon tea at say 4.30pm and have the dinner service start at 6pm so families with young children could all eat together.
Grounds were kept beautiful, just a pity the smokers left their cigarette butts in the sand although the staff did their best to keep it clean. The best thing about it though is you can really relax, slow down and enjoy the amazing weather and location.
The nice surpise about the hotel was they had free wifi which was not advertised.

Room Tip: There is evening entertainment most evenings which finishes at 10.30pm so if this bothers you, ask for a room away from the Palm restaurant.
