Paradise on Earth! Total relaxation, plush rooms (worth paying for a beach front room, although an upgrade is free if on Honeymoon) friendly staff, amazing food. Nice and quiet, entertainment is low key and usually finished by 11pm and that suited us fine, we didn't go to party!

The food and wine were a huge highlight and unlike other All Inclusive Hotels, not everything is buffet and wine is served by the bottle not in plastic glasses!

Believe me, I am a fussy customer...having worked in the Travel industry for 10 years but I couldn't fault this place. Just need to save up to go again!

We returned from paradise to snow! Oh to be back at Blue Waters where the happy and friendly staff attended to our every need, We stayed in a cove suite that was immaculately looked after by Irene. I was on the beach at 7am every morning and left for our room at 5pm. To break up the day Carolyn prevented us from becoming dehydrated with a variety of attractive drinks. At 8am we had a full breakfast that saw us through to lunch at the Palms where Vivian often looked after us. We never found the energy to make afternoon tea. However Ivan kept our mini bar stocked and at 7pm we enjoyed being looked after by Pearl and Wingrove in the bar and meeting so many lovely friendly people all ready to have a chat . We ate in the Palms every night bar one when we went to the Cove, perhaps we chose the wrong night but we didn't like the atmosphere- too quiet a bit like eating in a library! However the food and service was good.We booked for the other restaurant Vyvians but that was closed when we arrived and no-one informed us.The first week the service and Al la Carte was excellent but then we went into half term and the influx of families seemed to put the waiting staff under pressure and Buffet became the order of the day and night punctuated by a BBQ or two, which in time lost its sparkle . However the food was presented beautifully and I am only nit picking. The steel band at Sunday Lunch was very good and most evenings there was music but only a couple of groups got the guests up and dancing. Alistair the manager could be seen around the Hotel keeping an eye on everything. We saw him litter picking the drift wood on the beach and attending to beach sunshades amongst many other things and he always had a cheery comment.Graham the Head chef was also much in evidence talking to guests. We felt that on the whole guests were mainly more mature couples,
A wonderful holiday I just hope that health and wealth will allow us to return .

Blue Waters is that special, rare hotel that combines exceptional service, spacious and comfortable accommodations, and an atmosphere dedicated to relaxation and romance. The staff went out of their way to be pleasant and accomodating in all respects. The food and service was outstanding. The location and atmosphere was beautiful beyond description. We had a balcony room overlooking the ocean which was very private - lending itself to eating or drinking outside. The pools, furniture, and grounds were kept immaculate, I never saw even a wayward piece of trash on the ground. We felt like family, not guests. You are treated personally here, as evidenced by the many stories the staff tell about couples who have returned to this hotel for 20 and 30 plus years. We met many interesting people because the environment caters to being able to relax, eat, drink, swim, sail, snorkle, and have conversation without chaos. The hotel provides a nice mix of entertainment and advice on activities and assists with planning and transportation. At night, you hear the sounds of the island, the beach waves, the tree frogs (I think those were frogs!) and wake to a lovely buffet breakfast greeted by smiling staff. The spa could use an updated shower or facilities, so, just head's up - if you are looking for a hotel with an elaborate spa, this is not it - but the rest makes up for that. Truly, the only thing bad about this hotel was leaving it.

I have spent the last two months planning my trip to Antigua and found The Blue Waters through a travel agent. I researched my trip extensively and also looked at this site a lot. First, let me say The Blue Waters is top notch, for the right couple. My wife is 30 and I am 34. We like to have fun on vacation and like to keep ourselves occupied with things to do. For this, Blue Waters in not your place to stay. This is much more of a "retreat" that it is a "resort". It is 5 star all the way, from the General Manager, Alistair (a class act all the way) to the bellman Hakeem. We loved the people but this wasn't the place for us. We had planned on staying for a week but cut it short after two days. It had nothing to do with Blue Waters, it was simply and "older crowd" and almost exclusively British (no offense to the Brits). If you are younger, and American, you may want to keep looking. If this is not you, than this may be the place for you to stay. The price is steep but if you want to get away from it all, unwind and relax with nothing around you but the sea and the palm trees, book your trip! If you are younger and looking for some action, try somewhere else. I hope this review helps and to Alistair and the staff, keep up the good work.

We have just returned from Blue Waters where we had our Wedding and Honeymoon and we have been completely spoilt. The room upgrade and view were to die for and Alicia the Wedding Co-ordinator made everything on our day perfect. The Hotel is stunning and the food is very good. The Beach is small but perfect for a little piece of paradise without the overcrowding. I would recommend this hotel for any holiday or Wedding location.

What a wonderful holiday in a glorious setting. Never mind the rather small beaches, there were pools aplenty especially for those of us staying in the Cove Suites. Staff were almost unfailing attentive and always pleasant. Of course there were a few niggles, slow service at dinner, running our of gin, duck, scallops but these were usually one-off events. The supply chain for the hotel is a little bit haphazard at times but the staff cope admirably with the moaners! They do everything they can to make amends even to running around the gardens with scallops in hand to see where I was eating so that I could have there special dish.
The hotel is the cleanest and best maintained that I have stayed in and the staff were excellent, especially Irene at the Cove and Pearle in the Pelican Bar. Fellow residents were fun too especially Judge John and Joy Deedes (travelling incognito!).
Some fabulous entertainment in the evenings - good to see Paulette and Pearle boogy-ing on down.
Alistair was a little remote - maybe preoccupied? No farewell letter from him.

I would certainly go back there (but maybe take my own gin, (the French gin for the all inclusives let a lot to be desired). Well done Blue Water

My wife and I have never ever returned to a hotel no matter how good we thought it was. Blue Waters will be an exception. We went there on the 26/12/2009 for a fortnight (14 days for American readers) mainly to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The complex is quite stunning. The gardens are superb, the pools and beach everything you could ask for and the food is of a high quality. Their biggest asset however is the people. They are extremely friendly and helpful and by the end of the trip we knew almost all their names (and some their life stories).

We booked an upgraded beach front room although the standard rooms only vary in outlook. The room was large, the bed larger still and the mini bar fully stocked. The bathroom was modern with ample hot water. The balcony and view of the ocean was ideal.

We eat in the palm restaurant for breakfast and lunch (and sometimes afternoon tea) and eat in the Cove restaurant 10 out of the 14 nights. The Cove restaurant offers $42 per person off the price of the meal if you are staying all inclusive and you can have the house wines, beers and spirits as in the other parts of the complex. We were normally too full to have a desert and our bill was $5 - $10 per night. The food and service however were fantastic. Definitely 5 star. We eat out every week and the food was as good if not better than our favourite restaurants.

The bar area is comfortable and service good especially Andre the barman. He is so efficient and friendly if only he didn't get on so well with the women (especially my wife) and if only he didn't dance so well. (only joking!)

There are three pools. The main pool with about 20 sunbeds, The adults pool which was almost always deserted (great if you like peace and quiet) and the family pool (which most of the children didn't use) which is next to the beach. We found this the best as there were more sunbeds, more room to move them and was next to the beach so that could alternate in going into the water. It also had a beach bar tended by a lady called Carolyn who could not have been more helpful. She came around and took your order on the sun bed even if it was 20 yards to the bar. She also had a smile bigger than the Antiguan sun.

My wife had a massage in the spa and recommended it highly.

Negatives - palm restaurant the service was sometimes slow and a few times the drinks you ordered took a long while to come or didn't come at all. The management were aware that there were minor problems in this area and the second week was much better than the first so I am sure this has been or will be sorted.

My main negative was the entertainment although it was of a reasonable standard it normally started at 8.00 and finished at 10.30. This meant you missed a lot whilst having dinner and it finished too soon as a result the bar was normally deserted shortly after 10.30 and although people go to bed early it did seem to end too soon. If it started at 8.30 and went on till 11.00 it would have been much better.

Notwithstanding these minor gripes it is a lovely relaxing place to be with many of the guests returning year after year. Can't wait to go back
