“For those who doesn't care!”

Yes, this is a place for the people who doesn't care of their comfort or just don't need it. I have stayed there for 3 nights, the staff don't clean our room and didn't provide new towels. They just don't care. The food was great, the dinner especially was delicious and the portion was big.

We stayed there the first ten days in 2014 and couldn't be happier about it!
The owner is very friendly and helpful. The room was good in carribbean standard and we had no problems during the stay.
Deep bay was about 5 min walk from the hotell, we had to go through another hotel but this was no problem. We tried 5 other beaches on antigua but we found that Deep Bay was the one we liked the best. Almost empty beach, not more than 5-10 persons.
Don't miss the walk up the hill to the old forth, great 360-view on the top. While we were there we got engaged and when the owner found out, he gave us a nice bottle of wine. Thank you Gregory!!!

5 minutes walk to the bus stop made it easy to go shopping in St Johns, we never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a bus.

The village Five Islands is very nice. Don't miss the barbecue thursdays to saturdays in the village, we had the best chicken we ever ate!

We are already planning to go back here!

If you want too stay in a zoo this place is for you!! Upon arrival we were welcomed by a cat inside the lobby even though it says no pets?!?

The room wasn't ready and the owner had no idea we even had a reservation he asked to see our paper work. (I printed out a copy).
He told us to weight in the lobby while he prepared the room. As we weighted not one but TWO BATS flew towards me!!! Obviously I screamed and the owner came out of the room to tell me they won't hurt me... I should not see bats in any accommodation!!

We entered the room and that wasn't the end of the show we were thrown a party by not one or even two but 5 cockroaches dancing around the walls an floors.

Our total time spent there was 2 hours and 42 minutes which was even too long! We booked our self into the sugar ridge hotel and they were nice enough to come and collect us (at a fee) at 3am.

DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU LOVE LIVING WITH WILD ANIMALS!!!

Just got back from a weeks stay at the Inn La Galleria. This was my first time to Antigua and I was not disappointed. Stayed here through a recommendation from a friend and I am glad I did! The service was brilliant and the staff could not be any more welcoming, they arranged all the tours that I wanted to do including horseback riding and visiting sting ray city. I opted for the self catering option, though breakfast was still provided which was good quality food =] The facilities in the room were basic but still had everything you needed to cook some decent food on. The closest beach is only a few minutes walk away and the main town is only a 10 min bus ride away. The view was absolutely amazing! Couldn't believe how stunning it was! The hotel also had free internet which was a nice surprise as I have heard that other hotels can charge up to £10 per day.
For the price I was expecting the rooms to be very outdated and run down but when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Although they are basic the rooms and clean and well kept.
I couldn't recommend this place enough to anyone that wants a true experience of Antigua.

After a 25 minute drive the taxi pulled over and the driver pointed to a blue house up in the hills and said that's your B&B. I smiled and from that moment I knew I had picked the right place. A few minutes later we pulled into the car park and I just stood there and said WOW the view was amazing. Mr Gregory was there to meet us and showed us to our room after a quick tour. We had decided to pay a bit extra when we booked and got a studio with its own kitchen and bathroom but if I had seen the room first I would have paid double the price I paid. It was much better than what we had expected (considering how cheap the place was!!) We had a large double bed with a settee and enough space to store our clothes and bits but the wow factor had to be the outdoor kitchen. It was big enough to cook food and then eat it there underneath the stars. If you want a low cost self catering holiday then this room is perfect, though we didn't cook much because the food at the b&b was really nice. The Galleria is perfect for couples and families because it is so close (less than 10 minutes walk) to a few different beaches and a couple of hotels, one of which you can use their facilities. We never had any problems walking through the hotel grounds to get to one of the many beaches around. We hired a car (which the manager had pre booked for us) and drove round the whole island a couple of times at least and the area which the Galleria is in, is one of the most beautiful parts of Antigua. If you want 4 or 5 star luxury then pay between £250 and £600 per night and book into one of the big over commercialised and over priced hotels. But for an average of £25 per room NOT per person per night you get a clean tidy room with breakfast included in an idyllic location 25 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the capital 'St Johns' and 5 minutes from the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we would recommend this place to anyone who wants a beautiful b&b or self catering holiday . We looked at a couple of other rooms whilst we were there and there is a room that you could live in and one that has its own patio and is very private. Last year when we went to Antigua we stayed and got ripped off at one of the big luxury hotels and what we paid to stay there we could have stayed at the Galleria for 4 months and ate like kings. We ate better and fresher non mass produced food this year and not only did we save loads but the food was actually nicer than the big flash hotels. By the way there are pit holes all round Antigua and the big hotels have then just as much as the small ones. Go to the GALLERIA and save yourself loads of money and see the real Antigua. Everything that you get in the big hotels ie. excursions, money exchange and car hire you can get at this place and you get a more personal service. For what you pay this place is a secret little hideaway and I promise you that you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: If you want self catering go for the one with the outdoor kitchen or if you want privacy go for the...

This hotel is very neglected and run down. It also suffered from its conversion from a private house to a hotel. For instance, our bathroom was tacked on to the room, and so had to be raised up about a foot to accommodate the piping and drains being run underneath the floor. The driveway up was pitted with huge potholes, the grounds unkempt, the steep stairway to the main entrance dangerous when struggling up them with luggage. The refrigerator in the room was filthy. The curtains were old, mildewed and could not be shut fully. The carpet was dirty and mildewed. The common areas smelled and were dirty. There was nothing such as bottled water, soaps, or any of the other little touches you come to expect in a hotel. The AC unit was off on arrival and off when we returned to the room after a long day at the beach, so you had to wait quite a while to get the room cool. The first night we had no hot water and the faucet handle for the shower was near to falling off. You have to cut through a larger hotel's grounds to get to the beach, and the larger hotel's staff tolerate but do not welcome this.

I have no idea how this hotel got such good ratings unless it was from many years ago or the ratings were inflated by the owner or staff. Several locals expressed their frustration that a hotel in such a prime location was being allowed to deteriorate and create a bad impression of Antigua for visiting tourists.

Room Tip: We had the Island View room, and it is in very poor condition.

This hotel must have been around before all the all-inclusive monsters popped up. It is perched on a hill side, fashioned a la German mock castle and left to be discovered in the Antiguan countryside. Practically all the rooms have great views of the curvy shore line due to the elevation and the spacious restaurant area is no exception to this rule. The access by taxi from the airport is straight forward (20USD) and for the everyday chores (going to a beach that is) one can use minibus service just minutes away of a pleasant stroll. The closest beach is within five minutes walk, enclosed behind the fence of a grander property but access is unlimited and free. While the interior finish goes along the lines of functionality rather than luxury (reflected by the price of 50USD or so) the service is welcoming and efficient with fast response to possible draw backs fully living up to the motto one sees on his bill - "We Promise to Please You".
