I went to the Inn specifically for the garden tour advertised in a local guidebook; I did not stay at the hotel, so have no knowledge of the rooms and dinner. However, I did eat at the beach restaurant - rather pricey - and the pool nearby looked wonderfully inviting.
The tour was led by Kente, showing and explaining what is growing in this organic gardening venture of his. He said this organic produce is also used in the preparation of meals at the Inn.
There were lots of varieties to see, lots of information, and he and his helpers gave the group samples to taste, smell. Most interesting! At the end, we were treated to coconut water and appetizers prepared with things from the garden. Delightful. Everyone was very pleasant.
The only negative is that The Inn does not allow children on the premises, which we didn't know.

My husband and I just returned from the Inn and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The rooms are spacious, clean, and lovely. There is lots to do including a spa, tennis, library, a water taxi, kayaks, and near by hikes. The beach is quaint and relaxing with offering comfy padded chairs and hammocks. Christina, the activities director, really helped us plan activities off of the property. The staff was exceptional and the food was unmatched. By the end of the week we were already planning our next stay. We really cannot say enough wonderful things.

Room Tip: We had room 20 which was very spacious and quiet. It looked out onto the pool and we loved it.

What a shame about the dinners in the evening which are nowhere near good enough for what would otherwise be an excellent hotel. As other reviewers have remarked, on half board terms the trick is to have lunch in the hotel in the beach restaurant where the food is OK and eat out in the evening instead. The other slightly odd thing is that the hotel is split in two - the reception, bar and evening dining room are at the top of the hotel whereas the bedrooms, pool and breakfast/lunch restaurant are at the bottom by the beach. So there is a certain lack of cohesion and overall ambience though there is a courtesy shuttle car between the two.

Having said that the position of the hotel is superb with a beautiful beach in front and no shortage of sunbeds to lie on, and the position of the breakfast and lunch restaurant is to die for. Just round the headland a couple of minutes away on the hotel courtesy shuttle boat is the buzzing activity of English Harbour. And to see humming birds and a mongoose in the garden was a thrill.

Lastly the staff are without expection completely charming and friendly.

I would give the hotel 4 stars apart from the main restaurant which is poor and only gets 2 stars. We will be coming again and just hope they signficantly improve the evening meals.

Room Tip: The suites are set back a little from the beach. There are four beach cabanas which are smaller than...

This is a stunning colonial style hotel, set in a very peaceful and idyllic setting. As a boutique hotel, it never feels busy and there is always a sunbed available on the beach or by the pool. We stayed in a junior suite which are very spacious and have beautifully-made and very comfortable four-poster beds. My only criticisms of the room are that there is no bath in the otherwise large and well appointed bathrooms and the TVs are not placed in a convenient angle to watch from the bed, should you wish to do so.
Staff are lovely, particularly Ocean, who could not have been more friendly and courteous. I would have expected a little more from concierge, which is a one-woman team, and only available from 8am-5pm. Other than being able to recommend some wonderful restaurants, we did not find her services all that helpful, and she is not always easy to find.
As much as we loved our stay at The Inn, we had one major disappointment, for which I did not remove a star, as our overall opinion really is that this is a wondeful hotel, but supper in their restaurant leaves much to be desired. Breakfast and lunch, in the reef restaurant, are very good, but supper was consistently of poor standards. Staying as a half board guest, I would suggest, plan to take your lunch at the hotel and eat supper out.

We have just returned from our 6th visit to The Inn where on arrival we were welcomed as part of the family! The Inn still lives up to it's good reputation and each year we have noticed that a few extras have been added. Afternoon tea is now served daily in The Reef restaurant, Sunday visits to the 'Shirley Heights party' in the courtesy bus, a trip to St John and ice buckets for water on the beach!! The accommodation and service is still excellent and the terrace restaurant and views beautiful. Over the years the meals have much improved, this visit being the best so far. Taste is subjective but we certainly had no problems with meals.
The grounds are lovely with wide & open lawned areas and for anyone interested then Kente's organic vegetable garden tour is a must - & the samples are great! Perhaps one of the nicest attrubutes is that each & every member of staff from the top to the bottom is so friendly & pleased to talk, help, & do everything possible to make the holiday personal, relaxing & stress free.

Room Tip: The Colonial style rooms are very spacious with lovely garden & sea views. Beach Cabanas are sm...

We have just returned from a week at this boutique hotel and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location with lovely well maintained gardens. We had a junior suite which was very nice. The room had a lovely 4 poster bed, seating, tea and coffee facilities, ample wardrobe space and decorated in a colonial style. There was a large outside verandah which was lovely to use and look out over the gardens. As there are only 28 rooms in this hotel you never feel that it is crowded and have no issue getting a sunbed as there are enough for everyone ! The beach is just idyllic with its wonderful view over English harbour and white sand. Near the beach there is a restaurant for breakfast and lunch and a formal restaurant for your evening meal near reception. We were on half board and found the food good with some daily choice . The staff are all very friendly , helpful and cannot do enough for you. Wesley makes sure everything is ship shape in the restaurant , Neil and Ocean make great cocktails while Christina will organise any trips you may want to make.
There is a jetty on the beach where you can get a small boat at any time during the day which will take you into Nelson's Dockyard or any waterfront restaurants . The pool is not very big but while we were there most guests used the beach so was never overcrowded .
The hotel does a BBQ one evening, an Italian themed evening, and a small cocktail party which enables guests to mingle and get to know each other.
We we're recommended this hotel and I would have no hesitation recommending myself. Over half of the guests there with us we're repeat guests which speaks volumes.

Room Tip: Wherever your room you ring for a car to take you to reception as it us up a hill so never really an...

This really is a classy hotel, especially for those in search of serious relaxation! The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. Most of them are contained within a row of very elegant colonial-style buildings set in a magnificent garden, which is meticulously manicured and full of birds (& the occasional mongoose)! Immediately adjacent to the lawn is the beach, which is clean & carefully maintained with fine sand leading down to the water. If you choose one of the ample supply of sun beds, you are provided with all the towels you need, an ice bucket of chilled water, and fresh fruit mid-morning – all gratis! (The swimming is excellent, however the snorkelling is less impressive). Alternatively you might choose to take a complimentary ride in the hotel boat round the corner to Nelson’s Dockyard. Also adjacent to the beach is a bar and beach restaurant where breakfast and lunch are served, and a swimming pool. This really is a place to chill par excellence!

Behind all this the wooded hills rise up a couple of hundred feet and at the top you find the main reception area, lounge bar and restaurant of the hotel, somewhat detached from everything down at sea level. (There is a complimentary shuttle bus, which runs between the two). This higher area is all delightfully presented, and the balcony where dinner is usually served has views to die for of English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour. All the staff at The Inn are friendly, efficient, well trained & numerous, as they need to be to maintain the very high standards. None of this comes cheap, in fact it is a very expensive hotel, but you do get value for money.

We only really have one criticism. The food in the dinner restaurant is absolutely fine but does not quite match the standards one might expect given everything else about the hotel. On some ‘themed’ evenings the choice is also quite limited. As another contributor has noted, the hotel requires you to book half board, so they have a captive audience, and perhaps are relying on this a little too much. It would be worth the effort to bring the cuisine into line with the superb standards of everything else.

When you are next in Antigua & in the mood to spoil yourself, this is the place to stay!
