First off, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They did the best they could with what they had. Upon arriving at the island, our bellies were yearning for some delicious breakfast. Much to our dismay we were offered an "omelet" with no option, even a refusal of cheese! Although the cheese was within arms reach of the skillet operator, the cheese was refused. We then headed over to the coffee/tea station. The tea tasted like coffee and the coffee tasted like tea, and the only option for milk was powder. We gave up pretty quickly in the food and drink department and headed towards the beach. The beach was a mess, plastic spoons everywhere! They wouldn't give us straws but they were passing out spoons instead? As for the all inclusive drinks.... the liquor brands were abhorrent!!! The bar tender seemed disgusted at the liquor choices. The Snuba was great, snorkeling was above average, I would not eat the sand at this establishment. With all this being said, the view of the power plant was stellar!

We appreciate you sharing your thoughts and we're sorry you experienced some downsides. Your comments are addressed to the person in charge. The reason for not using straws is the wind since they will blow out of the cups into the water. We try to encourage people to only use the spoons in the designated areas and throw them away when done. We regret to hear you experienced different.

We did the kayak tour to De Palm Island. It was a blast! The kids loved the snorkeling and we loved that everything, including food and drinks, was included.

The island is more for young couples and families with children but enjoyed watching the children enjoying the water slides. We did however enjoy our ride on the Banana Boat. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures as we both were on the ride. It was though a very relaxing time and the water was beautiful.

So, this place is the definition of a tourist trap, because you are literally trapped on the island with them until you decide to take a ferry home. The island does boast a cool area for snorkeling, but you can get that for free at Mangel Halto. The food and drinks are fine, which is a positive thing, but it can get crowded and I don't particularly like hanging out in a place where I feel like I'm stuck all day.
