“Good time”
Reviewed 18 July 2013 via mobile

The good: Arikok roll and Sashimi.

The bad: slow service, fumes from cars when sitting outdoors.

Overall: steer clear during lunch as it is hot out and lots of fumes hang around from people looking for a parking spot.

“This place deserves to close down”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

One more joint where they think putting fish on sticky rice equals sushi. This place is just bad. They have obviously no clue the rice must be seasoned, and the fish must be fresh.

And when you order crab (as written on the menu!) you expect to being served crab, not surimi crap.
Adding insult to injury, they also put cream cheese in their rolls!

The outdoor seating is by a road where people apparently enjoy cruising - bad fumes.

“STAY AWAY - they don't even know what sushi is!”
Reviewed 2 June 2013

First of all we sat inside because it was super hot out - their a/c was BARELY working, which makes you question the refrigeration of the fish. We ordered a spicy tuna roll, a yellowtail scallion roll, and a salmon cucumber roll - pretty basic sushi and the waitress was completely confused and the sushi chef couldn't comprehend. What came out was a disgusting dark purple tuna roll with a bunch of fat and another roll with yellowtail and salmon in one. The spicy mayo tasted rotten and was not made with siracha sauce. I had to spit out the spicy tuna roll into my napkin. We choked down the other roll as at least it smelled fresh. Our bill came and we got charged $20 for the one roll with salmon and yellowtail because the waitress still though we got three rolls. After a bit of debate, she finally took off the spicy tuna roll that was inedible and charged us for one other roll. I have to give credit that she removed the charges, but her attitude throughout the whole experience could have been a bit more customer service oriented. Do yourself a favor by going to Ketsu at the Marriott if you want great sushi on the island.

“What happened to the Ice Tea?”
Reviewed 30 April 2013

Well the food at Suchi Ya is good. Its not the best sushi I have had. However, the service is quite terrible. I hope the owner reads this and try's to fix this issue. Not sure why mistakes were made and the waitress had to get so ugly and start to scream at us. Also after ordering the drinks it took more then 10 minute to get 3 cokes and a beer

“Terrible service and horrible food”
Reviewed 21 April 2013 via mobile

We were craving sushi and this restaurant was close to our resort, so we decided to stop in. We sat outside and about ten minutes later were greeted by a server, we were ready to order. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive and was delivered by a different server. We had been given waters when we were first greeted but never had received a refill or even questioned if we wanted something else. The food was absolutely terrible and tasted fishy. We were dying for a drink and not one person came over... Our waitress just stood and chatted by the doorway. By the time we were done we waved over a polite young man and told him we needed our check and left. We walked back to our resort and I proceeded to vomit all night. I was so ill from our dinner! What a disappointment and what an awful experience! Don't ever, ever go here.
