Hotel is very dirty and very old bathrooms. I also booked this via priceline and they include the taxes but the hotel tries to take additional taxes from you.. Jonathan the Frontdesk Supervisor Priceline is the only one that does not cover this tax. He ask for me call priceline and take care of it. Very again Renaisssance...

This property is fantastic for the discerning adult(s) who is looking for romance, privacy, great service, hospitality, great location ( airport close by ) modern facilities, excellent food, clean spacious rooms and a private beach to boot! The family property is called the Ocean Suites which has a large pool and a lagoon which was my favorite to swim in. As reported to me by a colleague it is every bit as wonderful as it's sister property The Renaissance. You can get back and forth from each by a shuttle system of elongated golf carts which run about every 10 minutes peak hours. Do purchase the breakfast plan as it is convenient and exquisitely tasty and the staff ( like ALL of the people and working folk on the island) are just 5 star all the way. I LOVE ARUBAN PEOPLE. They are the best. Folks are just so pleasant and helpful here ( not my first time) and I'm pleased to say that after a 10 year stretch. The Aquarius restaurant manager Annika ( I may be misspelling her name) gets special kudos for commitment to stellar service and warm personality that is deeply ingrained into the fabric of these properties. The Private Island? My favorite amenity of the resort hands down. Peaceful, serene, clean, activities, resident Iguanas and Flamingos, Jet Lev, hammocks, white sand, protected cove, waiter service, etc. And only those folks staying at the resort have access. In a word? Perfect. Go. Stay. Enjoy!

Room Tip: If you don't like the mall scene or noise from the bar or pool ask for a room facing the island...

This was our second stay at the Ocean Suites part of the Renaissance. Having a kitchenette, microwave etc, in the room is very helpful especially with small kids. We had a king-bed suite and the staff also put in two comfortable roll-away beds in the room for our two kids so they didn't have to share the sofa sleeper. The staff is very accommodating, helpful and friendly.

The private Renaissance island is really great for families. We spent most of the time there and the kids loved it. We prefer the Oranjestad area to the high-rise hotel area. More peaceful, calm and plenty of choices to eat and shop and be away from the crowded high-rise part of Aruba. A couple of evening we did go the high-rise area. Its a short 10 min drive away by taxi and costs $10 each way.

If you are looking to buy groceries - suggest you take the free golf cart ride to the other Renaissance Marina hotel, walk across the shopping mall to the back of the hotel and there is a decent grocery store right across.

I wish the property had public changing rooms by the beach or swimming pool. There is none - only option is to shower and change in your own rooms. Our flight was at 7 pm and we checked out of our rooms at 11 am and spent the rest of the day by the pool. But there was no place to shower and change prior to departing for the airport.

Overall a great place. Like I said this was our second stay at this property and I would definitely stay here again on our next trip. And a big shout out to the friendly staff.

I visited Aruba several times, I am familiar with high rise and low rise hotels. This hotel is wonderful, the island is very welcoming and available only to Renaissance resorts tourists.
excellent stay, clean, friendly, safe, warm and relaxing to say the least. Very impressed, cant wait o go there again.

We were in Aruba in January 2014 and stayed at the Renaissance Aruba Resort in the Ocean Suites. The room was very spacious and what a beautiful view of the ocean. It was our first time to Aruba. The people at the Renaissance were so friendly and very willing to help you with anything you needed. The accomodations were excellent. The private island is just beautiful. It didn't matter what time of day you went out to the island - they had plenty of chairs of available. They have a restaurant on the island. It made you feel really special having lunch brought to you on the beach in the bamboo baskets. It was such a beautiful beach and so relaxing. We enjoyed it so much we are planning to go back again next year.

Room Tip: Odd number rooms face the ocean or pool.

I stayed at the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino May 2013 and I had great service from Nelson and Sujeiry. The service was so great that my husband and i decided to revisit the Blue Bar on our most recent trip to Aruba April 2014 even though we stayed in the Palm Beach Area. The happy hour is awesome and they are wonderful servers. Can't wait to see them next year!

We just returned from a 1 week stay at the "Ocean Suites" which is designated the Family Hotel on the Renaissance property. This portion of the Hotel is on the ocean whereas the Marina is across the Street from the marina. The Ocean Suites has the resort style pool and ocean beach "lagoon" area for swimming which were very nice. Both have access to the private island.
They forewarned us that they were doing some remodeling and my only complaint is that the construction workers filled the parking lot with their vehicles during the day (you would think they would encourage them to park further from the hotel and keep the spots closer to the hotel for the paying guest). The rooms are good size, have some quirks like poorly located light switches and not the best pullout bed for our daughter but overall it was a nice room.

Food was good on the property and it is located near town so there are many off property options within walking distance.

Private Island is a unique amenity. In the afternoon you will hear quite a few jets. Again, other reviews forewarned us but we enjoyed our time there on all but one day when they were setting up for a Corporate Event in the evening....banging on the light trusses, setting up tables right in front of chairs, etc.....very poorly managed and no communication that it was going to occur. If we weren't there for a week and had other days to enjoy the island I would have been furious...instead we just packed up and head back to the pool.

We have stayed up in the Low and High Rise Hotel areas on the Island and would give strong consideration to returning to the Renaissance on a future trip if the deal is right.

Room Tip: Try to get Pool or Ocean View and higher floor
