If you looking to be in the middle of the action in downtown Aruba, the Renaissance Hotel is the perfect choice. Enjoy the rooftop pool and boat ride their private island. The Hotel is located within the beautiful Renaissance Mall.

Room Tip: A view of Downtown and the Water.

We stayed at this resort for two weeks this trip because the last two years we have come here have been exceptional!!! The staff is absolutely wonderful especially Yendy! Ask for your and she will treat you like royalty. She is always available and at your service. She is at the sole bar pool side. You will be in for a treat!
Love her

My husband and I stayed at the Renaissance Ocean Suites in October 2015. This was our 2nd time staying at the Ocean Suites, but we have also stayed at the Renaissance Marina Hotel. Both hotels are wonderful. Ocean Suites is the family resort. The Marina Hotel is for adults only. Guests can use facilities at both hotels. One pool at the Ocean Suites was under construction, but still didn't bother us. Our room was on the 5th floor, end of the building overlooking the pool and the little beach. From our room we could also watch the airplanes coming in and landing at the airport, and see their resorts private island, Renaissance Island. Renaissance Island is one of the main reasons we love this resort. Guests take about a 10 minute boat ride to the private island and then choose whether to go to Iguana Beach, which is the family side of the island, or Flamingo Beach, which is for adults only. The flamingos are so beautiful and the iguanas are huge, and they all keep to themselves. The restaurant and bar are on Iguana Beach, but the servers do walk around Flamingo Beach and take orders. Unfortunately, our last full day in Aruba the restaurant and bar on the island burned down, but the resort was working diligently that same day to clean up the debris and making arrangements to open up the next day with a limited food menu until the restaurant could be rebuilt. The Okenos Spa at the Marina Hotel was wonderful. The resort is right in town, but it's close to the markets and many restaurants, including our favorites which are Driftwoods (wonderful King Crab legs!), El Goucho's (to die for Filet Mignon!) and Iguana Joe's (specialty cocktails in large carafes!), all within walking distance. This was our 5th time staying in Aruba. The first two times we stayed at hotels on Palm Beach. The 3rd time I booked at the Renaissance Marina. My husband wasn't so sure about staying in a hotel "in town", but said he'd give it a try. Well, having now stayed at the Renaissance Ocean Suites for our 4th and 5th times to Aruba, you can tell where we prefer to stay. Definitely recommend this resort and have no doubt we will be back!

Stayed at this hotel for business and woke up to bug bites all over my stomach and back (never went on the beach). Upon checkout, the manager was conviently unavailable, and no one could provide me his/her contact info. I filed a complaint with the platinum desk, and still haven't received a response from the hotel in over 2 weeks (bites still haven't fully healed either)... It's unfortunate that they can't even respond to an inquiry, let alone for a Marriott platinum member. Stay at your own risk!

We have been coming to the Renaissance Ocean Suites since 2000 and it's a wonderful place. It's away from the busy high rises but just a short car ride if you want to go there and hang out. You can always come back and go to your nice private island.
Would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful woman cleaning our room, Joan,(from Jan 8-15th, 3rd floor) who found $200 that my husband tossed on the pullout bed and we didn't notice it got tossed in the sheets. She found it and caught us when we came back to the room and let us know where she found it and left it on the table for us with a note. That doesn't happen often and I would like to thank her again for her honesty.
I have noticed the entire staff is so helpful and it's so nice when you go on vacation and are treated so well. Sometimes things happen and a guest may have problems but the staff here is very helpful and will spend the time with you. So if you do have to wait in line for check in/out and it takes a while for someone just realize that it could be you they are helping.

Room Tip: To me any room is fine, not much time spent in the room on vacation!
