We were welcomed with a bottle of water and the receptionist's quickly informed us about the extra charges should we loose the all inclusive wristband and/or towelcards. It would have been nice with a short guided tour of some of the area/facilities, but we were swiftly showed our room.

After the first night we discovered some smell of mould. The second night, we both got a bad throut and problems breating. We then found out the ceiling was covered in mould. We made a complaint to the receptionist and were told that the hotel was full. We, at the earliest, could be looking at getting a new room the next day. We then got offered a really ugly, urine stinking room in the midst of a working area which we refused to accept. Back again at the reception, we said we wanted to contact our travel agent, Ving. As a result we got offered another room, and this time (on our third day) we accepted and stayed for the rest of the holiday.

In this room we had approx. 8 hangers, although there were two closets; one without hangers (which is not enough when staying for 2 weeks). It was a bit annoying having to spread the clothes on the sofa and elsewhere. As mentioned by others the room was cleaned perfectly every day.

Most of the food (buffet at Divi All Inclusive, the Red Parrot and Ginger) was fresh and tasted ok. It was a positive experience to be served alcoholic drinks with well known brands as we did not expect that. In spite of this we did drink mostly water as we normally do not drink much alcohol. However we did not expect asking for water would be such a big issue for the staff at the buffet restaurant. It felt like what we should have ordered was soda or wine. We had many (almost every meal) bad experiences related to asking for water and had to wait for a long time (for the first glass and for refills).

The staff at the buffet restaurant (at least 80%) should have been more professional. They did not welcome us, they did not smile (we did, and said hello), they laughed loud and pointed at us/other guests (from far away). We noticed many Americans was taken very good care of in a favourable manner, while we did not get the same treatment by far. Rather we were bumped into while seated and when passing through the tables. Other non-Americans complained about bad service at the buffet and it was so obvious the Americans were “tipping” the most.. Still, we could not quite understand this since we did not get any “positive” reaction or service even after tipping the same woman/man for several days. The same bad attitude continued.

Three days before our departure my wife was seriously food poisoned in the buffet restaurant. Directly after finishing dinner (Mexican food theme) she got acute nausea and experienced vomiting for 12 continuous hours.

Sadly this was not a memorable stay, and it would be wrong to recommend this hotel.

Still – we would like to send a warm greeting to the bell-boy; he is indeed the most smiling and positive man on the island!

Beautiful beach, friendly people, great winter getaway! For an all-inclusive, great value (top shelf liquor, good food, etc.) and not crowded at all (always a concern at an all inclusive place)... Highly recommend. We will be back.

So you plan to go to Aruba and consider Divi Aruba All Inclusive? Why not or why?
Be aware that this resort is not the Waldorf Astoria. If that is what you want, spend 9 dlr on a cabride up to Palm Beach where you find the "plastic" so called 5* where you will wait longer for an elevator that is takes to consume your breakfast. The Divi is an old resort, one or two floor buildings, buildt late 60ties. The oldest building is the VISTA 1, that leaks rainwater all over the place. This building is screeming for renovation may be demolishing. We stayed there two weeks in January 2014 in VISTA1 and room 100 that is a disaster. Rainwater through the room door, bathroom ceiling, the ceiling above the bed and the wall behind the bed splashing your face at "4 am". Just move the bed into the middle of the room and you are ok or are you?. The wardrobe leak damped our clothes, and soaked our shoes and baggage gear. Not fun when you got 2 hrs to check out and 11 hour flight. If you are the "lucky looser" and they put you in VISTA 1 and room 100, immediately ask for another room. If you are as lucky as we where, the Divi is fully occupied and you are stuck with this wetroom The resort will do nothing if they are out of available rooms.. The 2 restaurants are very good, one newly renovated. The all inclusive consept works fine, ok food and presentation as well as variety. Staff ok, some grumpy as you and me can be. Good spread of the buildings. The 2 Bars are good as well as selection. The Pool is small and not suitable for small children. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by adults. The Beach is perfect and if you want a shaded sunbed you need to wake up at 5:30 am, run out to find yours. Why not, its your vacation you know. Some occupy a sunshaded area for not to use it before late pm.
Will we choose this resort again? May be after having tried some of the other along the beach.
Who are we? Just someone that has travelled this planet for more than 40 years, visited more than 40 countries and more than 300 cities. Good luck and do not read older reviews than 2 to 3 years for this resort as Divi seem to renovate continuously. Just be spesific and firm when you book Divi Aruba All Inclusive and stay away from VISTA1. If you plan a trip to Divi late 2014, the resort will as we heard renovate this building coming low season beig after April..

Room Tip: Book a seaview room and stay away from VISTA1 building.

My family stayed at the Divi Aruba All Inclusive resort for a week and had an INCREDIBLE time. They have newly renovated rooms, tons of entertainment options (from fire limbo and dance shows to athletic competitions), the MOST BEAUTIFUL relaxing white sand beach, and friendly/helpful staff. Since the resort is in the low-rise resort area of the island (unlike most others), the beach isn't packed with a thousand people into a tiny section of beach...they have over a mile of spacious, white sand (with all-inclusive bars with food & drink spread throughout).

The place was very clean and well kept. We dined in their all-inclusive food options most nights (asian, italian, caribbean foods, among others) - all were delicious! The premium drinks being included certainly didn't hurt either. ;)

This tops any other vacation that my family has had in the caribbean. Divi's service, options, facilities and fun were unparalleled by all other resorts in the area (many of which we have tried in the past). Can't wait to book our next trip - I'm a Divi customer for life!

I traveled to Aruba with my wife and 4 kids for 11 nights during the Christmas New Year break. The Divi All-Inclusive is located on the best part of the beach in Aruba. "Druif Beach". All the rooms are steps away from the breathtaking beach and you have easy access to the lobby, pools, bars and restaurants without overcrowding. Beach chairs and towels were always available even when we arrived late to the beach in the morning. There is a trolley that can take you to the neighboring casino or sister resort called the Tamarijn where you have access to more restaurants, pools, gym, kayaks, arcade, etc....

We were very happy with our connecting rooms on the main floor right next to the beach. The kids loved the open air hotel lobby where they played Pool, Ping-Pong, talked to the Parrots and watched the Disney channel on large flat screen TVs and then could dive into the swimming pool right in front.

The rooms are comfortable but need to be refurbished. When we arrived the rooms needed some repairs and a more thorough cleaning. The front desk was quick to deal with our complaints concerning the room.

We tried all the buffets and the 4 a la carte restaurants included in the all inclusive. The food is average and desserts not very good. Although good if you are on a diet. The kids however loved the pizza that was available all day long at the bar adjacent to the lobby.

One of the areas where the resort could seriously improve is their food and beverage hygiene. In particular the sanitation of the cups, glasses, silverware and the control of food remaining on the buffet tables for extended periods of time without refrigeration while exposed to flies.

The hotel staff was generally very friendly and polite and offered excellent service. With the exception of a couple of bad apples that need to learn better social skills and manners when serving guests.

Bottom line Aruba is safe, the climate is amazing, the beach is breathtaking......and we really enjoyed our visit. We definitely would return to the Divi All Inclusive with the kids but would probably try another hotel without the all inclusive as a couple.

WOW! I was blown away by the Divi All-Inclusive. My family stayed the week right after Christmas and had an incredible time. Our room was a great retreat after a long, relaxing day in the sun. The service was incredible. We were always met with a friendly greeting from the cleaning staff. The food was delicious! There were so many different options - from seafood at the Red Parrot, to wood-oven fresh pizzas at the bar, to made-to-order omelets at the buffet, to sushi at Ginger, our appetites were always surprised and pleased! The pool was clean, clear, relaxing, and fun. Our family even did water aerobics twice during the week led by the spunky, fun instructor and tons of other hotel guests in the pool. The beach chairs and lounge areas surrounding the pool were comfortable and clearly new and well-kept. The beach was STUNNING - clean, with beautiful white sand and ample huts to sit, read, talk, and relax under. The service around the Divi was incredible. Every staff member is kind and genuine; they truly added to my family's experience. There was always something to do around the Divi - but there was also always space to relax; my family loved that balance.
We have already decided that we are going back! It's well worth the trip. Bon Bini Aruba!

We just got back from a weeks stay at the divi. This was our third visit to this resort and it didn't disappoint. We love the casual atmosphere, and the beach is fabulous! As usual the staff are friendly & very helpful. I do enjoy being able to book unlimited dinners at any of the restaurants throughout the week as opposed to other resorts where you have a limited number of nights you can book dinners.

Looking forward to our next visit!
