This resort was amazing.
The staff and locals were so friendly and helpful.
The food was great and had everything we wanted!! The frozen cocktails were out of this world.
Just one slight moan .... The rooms are in need of modernisation. Still offered what we needed but look a little tired and need some care

This resort is located on one of the best beaches I have ever visited. The water is crystal clear and more beautiful in person. You can walk up and down the beach and not worry about rocks or coral.

The resort provided a good amount of entertainment on site and there is really no need to leave the resort unless you are feeling adventurous. The all inclusive drinks were pretty good but the food could better.

Our room was clean and decent. I would recommend this resort if you are considering Aruba.

From the moment we got to the coach from the airport the staff did everything possible to make our holiday hassle free. We were actually checked in on the coach, given our room key cards and towel cards and all inclusive bracelets, so when we got to the hotel it was straight to the room, and no passports disappearing behind reception for two days. We got to our room within 10 minutes of arriving and our luggage was already there.
We had a verandah room, ground floor which suited us as we like to look out over the gardens and watch the birds of which there were lots. The room was a reasonable size, décor slightly tired, but very clean and comfortable with a good sized verandah, comfortable chairs and a sunbed with a mattress. We also had two wardrobes. Great! There were no tea and coffee making facilities, but we took a travel kettle and picnic mugs so it wasn't a problem. (We put little heaps of sugar on the verandah balustrade and the bananaquits came down and ate it.)
Tap water is perfectly safe to drink so we simply filled our bottle from the tap when we went out on trips.
The hotel was well laid out and the gardens lovely. Aruba is an arid island so expect rocks, cactus and scrub. The cacti in the gardens were flowering and we were lucky enough to have several close sightings of a humming bird drinking the nectar. Our room was also very close to the second smaller pool which was handy. The public areas of the hotel were slightly tired décor wise, but I'm not really surprised with the wind that blows continually. However it was not a problem and it did keep the temperature down to deliciously comfortable levels. Do beware of the sun. It is very strong. We did see hotel staff painting and unobtrusively sprucing up various areas. The main pool area is very attractive with mattressed sunbeds and other comfortable seating. The bar is right by the beach. Bar staff were good fun and the local beer is very good. Balashi. If you like Baileys try a mudslide cocktail..... to die for!
The restaurants: the Pelican which is the buffet, lovely breakfast choices including Bucks Fizz on Sundays and tasty food for lunch and dinner had inside and outside seating, as does the a la carte, the Red Parrot. You need to book the a la cartes in reception as you can also eat at the restaurants in the sister hotel next door, the Tamarijn. These are Ginger, and Asian restaurant, and Papparazzi, an Italian. The food in all three was good but our favourite was the Red Parrot which has a really good menu. You can also try Windows the restaurant in the golf hotel where you can have a three course meal for $35 if you are staying at the Divi. I had the tenderloin (fillet steak to you and I) and it was perfectly cooked and stunningly presented. Likewise the duck which my husband ordered. There is a grill bar near reception which does lovely little pizzas and sandwiches if you fancy a change at lunchtime, or you can head off along the beach to the Sandpiper for a lighter lunch in the company of bright blue and green iguanas.
The beach is gorgeous, and the sea is lovely. It looks quite rough at times but the slight current is pushing you to shore so it is comfortable for swimming.
Last but not least the staff. Everyone spoke to us, smiled, cracked jokes, and were obviously committed to making sure all the guests had a really fun time. We would certainly go back to the Divi.

Room Tip: Ground floor verandah rooms have no sea view but good garden access. Beach side rooms are bigger.

Important facts regarding Aruba -

Departure tax $34.25 per person payable at airport in US dollars only. (I found out 48 hours before we were due to leave Aruba).
The hotel does not supply bottled water however the tap water in Aruba is perfectly safe to drink.

I must admit I had serious doubts after reading negative reviews just weeks before departure and then to be contacted by Thomsons three days before we flew to be advised that renovation work at the hotel was underway I must say I was more than concerned. However, my fears subsided immediately as there was no evidence of any works other than the odd workman walking about the place, had we not been told we would not know works were taking place.

Mixed first impressions as we pulled into the grounds, not quite as grand as I expected.
We had a garden bungalow which was well located and just 15 steps from the beach. The room itself was massive, the bathroom however was compact although adequate and as other reviews have suggested are a little tired. Cleanliness throughout the entire hotel was excellent.
Enjoyed the buffet breakfast but at lunchtime preferred the snack bars and we ate most evenings in the A La Carte resturants as we prefered this to the buffet.
The main pool whilst stunning, has little shade and we therefore mainly used the smaller pool.
There are only a handful of sunbeds here but they do have shade if you are lucky enough to get one. The beach has plenty of sunbeds and shade if required and is not crowded as it is in the high rise area.
My negatives would be the $2 for the safety deposit box which had a key you have to carry around(this should be free) and the box itself was not that large any way, we struggled to fit in an Ipad, camera ect. The Wi-Fi $15 dollars for 24 hours, I only want it for 10 miniutes a day to touch base, most hotels offer the first 30 mins free! and the free shuttle bus between the Divi and Tam whilst excellent in the evening, during the day we found at times we had extensive waits which can be annoying.

The location of this hotel is perfectly positioned between Oranjestad and the high rise area (where all the large hotels are including Riu). The bus either way was $2.30,
taxi $9, we used the free cycle hire at the hotel!

All in we had a perfect holiday and would not hesitate returning.

We have always wanted to go to Aruba and decided to try this All Inclusive resort based on reviews and beach location. We did try other places but they were not available for the dates we needed. The place is older but we figured we would try it. We got our room and the location was perfect. Directly on the beach. As soon as we walked in I knew it was going to be a problem. The smell of mold was intense and the AC was clanking loudly. I was trying not to make a big deal out it but in the middle of the night I woke up wheezing. Thank goodness I had my ear plugs for the AC. We went to the front desk to ask to be moved and they showed us another room in the same building that had the same smell. We ended up paying for an upgrade to the other side of the resort to a room with no mold or clanking AC. The food was not very good. Breakfast wasn't horrible because you could get fruit and an omelet. Lunch was so so. The available food in-between meals was processed garbage. If you didn't eat breakfast or lunch you were out of luck. Two pieces of white bread and processed turkey is NOT a panini. The dinner at their sister resort wasn't bad. Can't screw up local fresh fish. The wine selection was non existent. Our server even told us not to get the Cabernet because it was a "funny" color and smell. I asked to see it and it was turned. They were still serving it to customers. If the cost of this resort was cheap I wouldn't have complained but it was expensive and very poor quality. Save your money unless you have lower standards. We will go back to Aruba but NEVER to this place.

This was our first time at Divi Divi, but our seventh visit to Aruba. Great beach and location.

There were plenty of chairs and shade when we needed it, so we didn’t need to get up early to reserve a spot.

Going All–Inclusive was very convenient. Would recommend getting in your dine in dinner reservation early, but the selections at the nightly buffet were good. The Breakfast and lunch buffets had a great selection of food. The staff was great as were the bar staff. The bars get busy some times, but had no issue with the drinks. They will use house brand unless you are specific, but that is not a problem.

We had a 2nd floor Oceanfront room conveniently located next to the Sandpiper bar. Curtis the bartender was awesome. Our room had been recently renovated, but had two queen beds instead of the king we had requested.

We will be heading back later this year for Divi Divi visit number two.

In the night, the shows are spectacular . Nearby the have casinos. Beautiful beach . In general, we will back to Aruba but I like to explore different places so if one day we
