we're pretty happy with our stay. we really started to appreciate the Tamarjin and Divi when we visited the other large hotel area. Having direct access to the beach was priceless.
The A La Carte restaurants were all great. The Tamarjin buffet was ok. The Divi buffet is much better. I like the idea of three different pools at Tamarjin. although they are small, its nice to escape the "pool" scene. The beaches were in good shape. This place is very safe after hours. Overall werewolf really happy and would like to go back one day

We have just come back from Aruba. What a fabulous holiday. My one bug bear were the bar staff I personally found them very rude on several occasions they just ignored me and would rather serve the men. Apart from that food so varied excellent choice. Rooms changed sheets and towels everyday. Our room on the ground floor was just feet from the beach. There are also several swimming pools, a jacuzzi and hot tub. We are definitely going back next year.

If you are looking for an affordable all inclusive in Aruba, this would be the place to stay. Not fancy, staff is very friendly. Food was ok at the restaurants, the best restaurant was Ginger. You need water shoes, beach is on a coral reef so you can snorkel right off of it but don't go barefoot. And the waves were rough, I think it is the area. The high rise hotels have calm water and smooth sand. A few hiccups - the event listing shows a scavenger hunt on Tuesdays at the Divi - we went there and they said it was at the other resort (10 min walk or shuttle ride) so we put the kids on the shuttle and stayed by the pool. They came running back 15 min. later, the other resort sent them to the kids camp, front desk, towel hut, then back to this hotel. Turns out the scavenger hunt is only at Easter - why would it be listed in the daily events? Who knows. The kids were upset, it was the only thing they were really looking for. But the towel hut person (Javier I think?) was very apologetic, talked to his manager and had a little gift bag made up for both of them. That was very nice of him to care about how upset they were. There were not that many activities that my kids liked (they are 11 and 13) so they got a little bored. We did a Beaches resort a few years ago and the Kids Camp was extensive and amazing. I think they were expecting that - but this was a lot cheaper than Beaches.
One other incident - my daughter had her mask on in the pool and went to the bottom when she thought she saw a weird looking rock. Turns out it was a piece of poop. I am not kidding, my mother fished it out with the net and then called the front desk. They came and put up a pool closed sign. I have no idea if they treated the pool after that, we never went back in that one. Luckily we can laugh about it today.
They did have some great shows - they had a circus show that was like a mini Cirque du Soleil, very entertaining.
We were in the Dutch village (1 bedroom suites) which worked out great for a family of 4. For the price, it was a good place to stay.

Room Tip: If you have a 1 bedroom suite take a first floor (deck to outside) or 2nd floor balcony. We had 3rd...

Based on all of the glowing online reviews, we booked a stay for our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary at the Tamarijn. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean, about what you would expect from a mid-priced hotel chain in the U.S. The location and views are great, with a patio or balcony looking out over the beach and each unit only a few steps away from the beach. However, as we noticed on our first day there, the walls & doors seem paper thin. If you stay, expect to hear EVERYTHING your neighbors say or do. In addition, we did not find the staff, whether at the front desk, the concierge desk, the bars, or the restaurants to be especially welcoming, friendly, or competent. Although the views at the Divi next door aren't quite as nice for each unit, the staff seemed better, the restaurants nicer, and there is more beach area available. If we had it to do over again, we'd stay at the Divi instead.

Room Tip: Stay at the Divi

This was our first time to Aruba and now that we have been - it wont be the last!! There are only a few All-Inclusive choices in Aruba and the Tamarijn & Divi definitely are the place to stay. We liked the atmosphere at Tamarijn because you didn't meet a stranger - the staff were amazing, helpful & friendly. The food was good whether you ate at one of the restaurants or the buffet.
If you want to venture out of the resorts, you can go by bus for $2.30 per person - I would recommend going into the city and walking around the shops and harbor. Try the submarine trip - its amazing!! I would also recommend visiting the Palm Beach Area as there is lots of shopping and restaurants. Cant wait to go again next year!!!

Room Tip: If you stay at Tamarijn, its only 2 floors. The bottom floor rooms are literally right on the beach...

This was our first trip to Aruba. We had a great time and a lot of that had to do with our hotel. The staff was very attentive and helpful towards our needs. Whenever we had a question there was someone there to help (Sometimes if it was before 8 in the morning they would direct you to the front desk, but you could always have your needs met). Food was good, not great, but definitely worth it. The drinks were usually made very well. All high end brands and bartenders were very attentive and provided great service.

Our room was overlooking the beach and water which was certainly a plus. We requested a king or queen bedroom, however we were provided a double bed room instead. The room was not very big also. We were slightly disappointed however it did not take away from our overall experience. The shows at the resort and adjacent Divi Resort each night were very good. Live bands played most evenings at both locations.

One thing that stands out is that most people mention that they have trouble finding cabanas and beach chairs to place their towels at each day at many of the resorts. This was not the case at the Tamarijn. ANY time we wanted to find a place at the beach we found one within a few feet of where we wanted to be and we always had beach chairs and cabanas available to us. Did not matter if it was 9 am or 1 pm. There is around a mile of beach owned by the Divi Resorts and all of it was exceptional for swimming or hanging on the beach. the western part of the beach had great snorkeling as well!

Overall, great first experience! We look forward to going back in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms near the bars can get noisy at night because the bars stay open till 1 a.m. or later. Only...

First time in Aruba - Stayed at Tamarjin. Overall lovely holiday. Went to the Divi most nights as it seemed to be more chilled than the Tamarjin.
Food good at both, Red Parrot and Ginger restaurants had to be booked but the meals were superb.
Staff wonderful always happy and appreciated being spoken to politely.
Beaches wonderful
Will go back again soon.

Room Tip: rooms after 1600 are quieter but can be a walk to bar/ restaurants etc. Karen - Thomson rep absolut...
