“Excellent Choice!”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

Very happy with my choice to stay at this B&B. The price was perfect for my solo impulse trip. The room was ready and was perfect. Lots of space, good internet, lots of tv channels. But who cares about all that because--oh my, the VIEW! You won't find this kind of view at the resort without paying 3x for it. Breakfast was served on the balcony, and although a clever bird has learned to eat through plastic wrap, the meal was pleasant.

The location is closer to the airport, so you'll need to walk or take a cab to the busier parts of town. I found it to be safe and well-lit walk, even alone at night. I walked to the Renaissance area and found lots of options for shopping and food. If you take the bus from there, its a very cheap and quick ride to the resorts. No pool, but I wasn't at the hotel during the day to use it anyway. Nice restaurant at the pier. Nikki beach is about a 10 min walk if you want to swim and relax at the beach.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. My only complaint was that the shower was cold all 3 days I stayed here.

Room Tip: Balcony.. whatever is available!

I don't have enough words to express the gratitude we have for Ianthe and everyone at ASM. Ianthe was such a great help, she was incredibly thoughtful and paid so much attention to detail to make the event more than what we could have asked for. She was very patient, helped with the set-up, heard every little thing we had to say and answered our thousands of questions. The food was Incredible, we had queen Elizabeth chicken, which I still cannot stop thinking about, and wish I could have eaten so much more. The servers were caring, they were always asking us if we needed something, if we had tried everything. It was also great knowing Ianthe was there all night to support us. We planned everything through email, so it was hard to know what to expect, but once I visited the place and met them, I knew we had made the right choice. Still, I could not have imagined it would have been so great thanks to them. I recommend ASM for any event 1000%. They also gave us use of a room to change and freshen up during the event. I also have no doubt staying here as a hotel would be amazing. Thank you ASM, for making our day as wonderful as it was.

This is a great small and welcoming place to stay, rooms are simple but very clean and have all that's needed for a relaxing break including beach towels, tea.coffee and toiletries, the flowers in the towels in arrival is a lovely touch. Breakfast is served on the balcony with a view over the sea and is plentiful and very tasty. The owners obviously take pride in keeping this place nice and ensuring travellers have a relaxing place to stay. It's only 5 mins from the airport so there is some airport noise but it's not intrusive and fun seeing the planes so close. There is a small beach on the doorstep which is natural and not full of high rise hotels like Palm beach so very quiet. It's an easy 5/10 minutes walk into town. A great little gem for an inexpensive stay in Aruba.
The only thing that could be a improvement is to have some sun beds in the patio area.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room upstairs with a balcony overlooking the sea, we had room 113 which was...

We needed a place to stay for 2 nights before we checked into our resort. We booked Surfside because of other reviews on TripAdvisor. This is a hidden gem in my opinion. A small marina with something like 6 rooms. The view is amazing. You can watch the sunset from your balcony. There is a great restaurant/bar on a pier in front of the marina. Rooms are spacious, appear to be newly remodeled, large bathroom, wifi and you get breakfast served in your balcony each morning. There is no pool but the beach is just out the gate from the courtyard. Town where the shops are located are a 5 to 10 minute walk.

We stayed here from 10/22/13 until 10/29/13. It's just west of the airport and east of downtown Oranjestad, but within walking distance if you're so inclined. It's also away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel strip in western Aruba. There was a nice breakfast on the balcony every morning and we watched beautiful sunsets from the balcony in the evenings. A decent beach was very close by. The room we had was somewhat austere, but it had cable TV and A/C and besides, you only really use it to sleep in. It was clean, neat and serviced daily. Although there is a restaurant at the end of the short pier, we never heard any noise coming from there. We rented a car and found driving to be very simple, since they drive on the right side of the road. Everyone accepts dollars and the electricity is 110v. The people were extremely nice and the restaurants served up some excellent food. We don't normally travel to the same place twice, since there is so much to see elsewhere. But this place was so nice, we will probably return someday.

Room Tip: Try and get the room nearest to the outside stairs.

Well appointed room with nice furniture and all you can possibly need, including a flashlight. Breakfast on the balcony is a nice treat. 15 min walk from town and bus station. Not ideal for beach lovers.

My wife and I had our wedding at the Aruba Surfside Marina back in October, and even though we went with the 'research-and-hope-for-the-best' approach to planning our destination wedding, I can't imagine how it could have gone any better even if we had been on the island throughout the planning process.

Simon deserves a lot of praise for his personal touch and attention to detail. He made sure everything we needed was accounted for, and his suggestions for additional or variations of the appetizer/main course selections we initially chose were a huge hit with our guests. Best of all, these variations were given to us without any additional costs. The service was outstanding as well. Our guests never had to wait long for drinks over the course of the night, and the staff were consistently responsive and friendly.

To put it mildly, I would highly recommend the Aruba Surfside Marina to anyone looking to plan a destination wedding in Aruba.
