I have to say that I didn't expect too much for that price but I was very positively surprised. Franc and Noud are good people with great sence of humour and great knowledge of the island always ready to advice the best deals and options on Aruba. I had amazing time meeting nice people there. Place was always clean and I look forward to visiting this place again!

OMG, where to begin. When we arrived we were greeted by Noud and Francois and their sweet puppies. They both remembered us from a previous trip and opened their home and arms to greet us. We stayed in the suite, a huge room with everything you need for comfort and relaxation. The pictures on the site are accurate. A true Aruban gem and experience with bright colors and an atmosphere as warm as the weather. The whole place is spotless and meticulously well cared for. You can feel yourself melt in the atmosphere and the tension just drift away. Noud is just a teddy bear and Francois is such the nurturing mother type you are sure to enjoy your visit. I honestly did not want to leave. They will tell you where the best food is, the best shopping, where to rent a jeep (a must!) and what is worth seeing on the island. Francois arranged a deep sea fishing trip for us with a wonderful local boat and the crew were hot and sexy, the price was very reasonable and we got to pick out the fish we wanted to keep unlike most local charters apparently. We chose what we wanted, they cleaned them for us and we took them back to Little David. Francois prepared them Aruban style and we grilled them right there next to the outdoor kitchen on site. Man was that fish good and I am kind of picky about which fish I will eat. I had not eaten any of the fish we had that night before in my life. And they fixed some side dishes that were specialties in Holland and Aruba to go along with the fish and they were out of this world. We were lucky they had the time to spend with us to enjoy the customs and foods specific to their cultures and greatly appreciate the extra effort they made to make the trip so special. Noud is Dutch and Francois is Aruban. It was an absolute treat and way beyond the bounds of a B&B and a vacation I will remember and treasure for a lifetime. There is an outdoor kitchen for anyone that wants to cook on site, the pool is so refreshing, the gardens are romantic and exciting with someone special, oh and Loretta, the crippled wayward parrot they care for is a mean little thing but for some reason she took a liking to me and every morning we would sit together and I would stroke your back and talk with her. She speaks Dutch. Her feet are deformed from birth apparently and she can fly a little but with her feet the way they are she rolls like a baseball trying to land so she doesn’t fly, she waddled around behind me following me way beyond her boundaries into unknown territory and danger just to be with me. It was so heartwarming. I could actually pick her up with bare hands vs. the stick they use. Her feet work well enough to perch on a bar and that’s about it. The location is central, near a grocery store for ice and things when you start the day or end the evening. Happy Hour around the pool was so much fun. Drinks and a cool dip in the pool, clothing optional which gets easier as and the Happy Hour progresses! We even put the sling up! Make sure you rent a 4x4, the NE side of the island is really beautiful and practically impassable without one. There is an unofficial clothing optional beach on the North end of the island that you need a jeep to reach too. Eagle Beach is a happening place too. Aruba is an excellent place for gay travelers, everyone is so friendly and relaxed, the streets are safe, they built a new trolley system in the downtown area, the government imposes much harsher punishments on those that commit crimes against tourist vs. locals, 3-4 times harsher so do not worry about your safety; the island is quite safe. Not much of a gay scene there with only 1 “gay” bar but all the bars are gay friendly and we had no problems and lots of fun “flaming” wherever we went. And the men, OMG, the men are as pretty as the beaches. Aruba wants tourism. Ever since Bush and his cronies shut down the oil refinery on the South end of the island and put their whole economy in a spin they have been developing their infrastructure to striving to providing one of the world’s most beautiful vacation spots. So come on you gays, Little David is wonderful, the island is accepting and beautiful and the trip is a good value (1:1.75 exchange).

Room Tip: The suite is wonderful with a shower big enough for 4!

Do not pay attention to the date as we had to choose one to post a counter-review to three comments I fouind when planning our next trip to Auruba.

We have stayed with Noud and Frans twice so far and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both times. The house was full during our first stay. Franz and Noud facilitated the interaction between guests from various backgrounds and countries to the enjoyment of all. We were the only guests during our second stay and were blessed to have Noud's attention all to ourselves.

Noud is correctly described by another visitor as "a crazy mixture of great dictator, mother superior, tourguide and a host taking care of everything." Sure he has his "rules", but it is his house -- and the "rules" are just common courtesies.

As for turning of the AC during the day -- most guests are out and about the island, or poolside. AAurba is blessed by tradewinds, and has a mainly desert climate. The breeze and low humidity make the heat bearable. What is the purpose of travelling if one is going to spend all day inside one's room?

If your idea of a vacation is to be waited on hand and foot, order around guest services personnel, and remain in an isolated cocoon, the Littledavid is not for you.

On the other hand, if you enjoy being the guest in someone's home, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, staying in clean and comforable surroundings that is off the beaten track but accessible to everything, and is hosted by locals who always have suggestions for activities that suit your personality and likes, this is the place to stay.

I would suggest that the three nay-sayers confine themselve to visits to Provincetown, Fire Island, Key west or the Russion River, but then again, i wouldn't want to wish these folks on any other guest houses or hotels. Some people should just stay home -- and should be aware that cats are supposed to rub against one's legs.

As for Hardee and I, we hope to stay with Noud and Franz again next year.

Juan

My girlfriend and I stayed a few days at Little David. It was absolutely amazing! Everything we needed Noud provided. He even brought us (amazing) coffee during our morning swim. The pool is clean and surrounded by a relaxing atmosphere, lots of places to sit and tables to eat at. Our room and bathroom were both extremely clean and well taken care of. Noud gave us amazing suggestions on places to eat and beaches to go to. If we come back to Aruba, we'll be spending more time at Little David!

The owners Noud & Francoise are excellent host and very helpful in directions and places to go in Aruba. I always liked the early evenings at the pool with wonderful wine an lovely conversations with the owners and other guest. Noud makes a great cup of coffee also.

Room Tip: All rooms are great. I like the rooms facing the back gardens the best.

The taxi from the airport knew the place. We were warmy welcomed by the owner Noud ynd his partner Frans. Immediately you feel like at home. Funny Noud is a crazy mixture of great dictator, mother superior, tourguide and a host taking care of everything. We spreciated a short stay in his warm guesthouse with the animals, the garden and thd pool. If Noud would serve beakfast and ask 10 USD more, it would have been perfect. But looking at the big hotels and the people staying there we can only recommand Little David and the 2 guys. He will vlise for one month and renovate. Good luck mon ami!!!

Me and my girlfriend booked for 9 days at Little David in januari. Since we were a hetrosexual couple, we were a little nervous how our first stay at a gay-hotel would be. And as we expected it was WONDERFUL.
Noud and his husband showed us a hospitality that we haven´t recieved at any other hotels/guesthouses. We could sit all night long and drink good wine and conversate about everything. They cooked Dutch and Arubian food several times and invited us.
The rooms are very clean and big. You have AC, fan and a big wardedrob. The pool area is very cosy and nice.
Noud helped us with everything; directions, restaurant recomendation, which beaches we should visit, where to rent car etc.
If you want to have a taste of genuine Aruba then Guesthouse Little David is the perfect hotel.
