Stayed in the Shepherd's hut. Took our young son along and the very kind owners allowed us to put up a pup tent for him. The hut is cosy and the bed is so comfortable. Next to the hut is a converted "Chicken house" which contains shower and loo....with instant hot water. But the highlights are (a) the outdoor hot tub (b) the absolute seclusion. We could hear no traffic noises...only the odd moo and quack. We saw not a soul. We had fabulous weather and cooked in the evening on the small but efficient BBQ. Breakfasts we cooked on the small double gas burner in the hut. Wood for the BBQ, the hot tub (and the wood burner in hut) are provided free of charge...help yourselves from the owners barn.
It is a superb base...we did local sight seeing, but it would be perfect for hikes.
We have just got back and my husband is already trying to arrange a return visit.More
