Family was looking for a good Italian restaurant in Aruba and Hostaria Da Vittorio was recommended by the hotel staff where we were staying.

Nice restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The waiter was friendly and knowledgable but rushed us thru our dinner by continually asking, while we were still eating, if he could box up our "leftovers". As far as the meal is concerned, the Veal Parm was deep friend leaving the ends hard. The seafood risotto had huge tasteful shrimp in it but the pasta was way undercooked. Finally, the eggplant dish was fairly good, however.

As far as prices, remember that they automatically add a 15% service charge to your bill. And our bill, for a party of 4 with no alcohol, was over $160.

Therefore, based on the diverse quality of our various meals and other reviews, this restaurant may be a "hit or miss" depending on the cook and waitstaff.

We had been here in 2009. The return was better than the first time. Millie had the shrimp, clams, mussels, clams & squid over pasta. I tasted it sand loved it. Our waiter talked me into the whole snapper. It was a bit tasteless. We sat outside because the A/ C was a bit much inside. All the while we had food, we had company (Flies). Once the food was gone, the company left.

We had dinner there last night and we ordered the rack of veal and branzino. It was delicious. The service was outstanding as well as the staff.

One of the best seafood risotto I ever had, beats the ones I had in Italy, the atmosphere is okay, place kinda small, has an open kitchen you see where your food is coming from, the food is very authentic in my opinion.

When I still lived on the island, I'd visit frequently. I remember waiting times to get a table, jam-packed restaurant inside and out, and good, fresh, food. Our experience today, being back here after 5 years, was less than satisfactory.

When we got there at 18.30, the place was empty. Like, first ones there. So that was a bad sign from the start. Friendly staff, except one. This waitress was hanging over our chairs while talking loudly to collegeas (we weren't her table), grabbed our half-eaten plates without asking if we were done, and was very arrogant overall. We told the maître d, and this waitress was reprimanded.

After that kerfuffle, the appetizers were ok (one was forgotten and handed to us a little later, lukewarm), and the entrees were edible, to say the least. We had to ask for an extra bowl of tomato sauce to add some flavour and colour.
The Ossobuco was ok, though. A very tough brick of risotto was served with it as well, so make sure your dentures are in tight.

Dessert (pannacotta) was good, though, so that's a recommendation.

All in all, a less than stellar experience. We drove past a Wendy's for some burgers on the way home.
